We wanted to modernise the website, bring in more features and make the site more accessible and user-friendly for everyone, with clear information about who we are, what we do, and importantly, how people can help support us. I had various meetings with the owner of RJM to communicate our requirements and expectations, and then the first mock-ups came through which were the starting point for the design and development to begin.

During the build and development, I worked almost exclusively with just the owner of RJM, but subsequently have a second contact in the company who answers any support queries that crop up, or helps with required features on the website whenever needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Immediate feedback on how improved the website is, and also many enquiries and comments now reaching us directly from the website via the newly added Contact Form.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Impeccable. Queries were answered either immediately, or certainly within no more than a few hours, whatever time of day they were submitted. The team clearly work around the clock, always patiently and clearly explaining any issues or solutions, and consequently always hitting their deadlines. They are independently vigilant too, monitoring and alerting us of problems with the website (for example, a recent crash) before we'd even realised it was down, and fixing the problem within a tiny timeframe.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Unsurpassable communication. The response rate to queries and requests is excellent. The team was always willing, polite, and happy to help, no matter how big or small the query. For a very busy and professional company, there is a really personal touch and we feel the website is in very safe hands.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing at all.

I am the owner of a commercial photography business, working in the South East of the UK. I create bespoke imagery for businesses to use online and in printed materials.

I had a website but had developed this myself when I first launched and although it looked lovely the SEO was not good. It was a WIX site and I knew that in order to grow the business I needed a bespoke site. So I approached RJM Digital to build me a site from scratch.

I had met Robbie a number of times through networking and was impressed with his knowledge of SEO and computer science. I'd also spoken with a number of others that had used RJM Digital and they were all having fantastic results for enquiries.

After an initial call, where Robbie and I discussed in detail about the things that I was after and wanted the site to do for me, he set about designing a mock site to give me an idea about how it would look and feel. He put me in touch with a copywriter who helped me write the text for all the pages and I supplied the photography. From the word go the designs were exactly what I wanted.

I listened to his advice as being a creative I wanted everything on the site, but realised that simple was better. I also offer online courses and I was using an integration that took customers off my site and onto another which was clunky and resulted in dropped sales. Robbie found a solution where I could host the courses from my own site for less per month. the result is that I have started to sell courses where before I had not made one sale.

My enquiries have gone up and increased each month. We launched this during Lockdown but still I've seen more growth than with the old site in normal times. I'm very pleased with all the results so far.

What challenge were you trying to address with RJM Digital?

We needed help with SEO and website design and development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started by analyzing our business development strategies. RJM conducted background studies, competitor analysis, and keyword research to determine a strategy for improving our SEO performance. 

The research process was not simple because we’re selling a service, not a product — we’re unique in what we do. We’ve been using RJM’s data in creating specific content that’ll ensure our customers can find us online. 

The process is collaborative. Our team does the copywriting, another vendor has created the branding and imagery, and RJM puts everything together. I’m not familiar with the technologies RJM used for the project. I left everything to their team since they’re the expert in web design and technology. 

RJM currently provides us with website maintenance and hosting. They also give us updates about our SEO performance.

How did you come to work with RJM Digital?

My business partner met Robbie at a networking event. We talked to him about our vision and objectives. We felt he was a good fit because of his experience and since he got along with us well. 

Additionally, RJM had a unique pricing structure based on their clients’ Google rankings — we only have to pay him if our keywords ranked high. I found that appealing since they were placing their money where their mouth is.

We’ve spent £1,500 (approximately $2,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We receive regular reports on how our website is doing, particularly our Google rankings and website views. We’re about to embark on a social media campaign, and we expect that to direct traffic to our website. However, before we move, we’re waiting for a few things going on in the UK housing market to ensure that our campaigns have the best impact.  

How did RJM Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

RJM is brilliant at project management. They’re accessible, and we have regular meetings. We communicate through phone, email, and Zoom. The relationship is straightforward. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

RJM is very open and easy to work with — nothing’s too much trouble for their team. We change our minds quite a lot, but Robbie takes it in his stride and doesn’t charge us extra since that’s part of our pricing structure. 

Robbie is honest and has lots of integrity. He knows his stuff and brings a lot of ideas to the table. He helps us move our business forward. In addition, he understands our business, and he understands where we’re coming from. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. He always meets our deadlines and is very accessible. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear with your objectives and make sure you have good lines of communication. Leave an allowance in timeframes and don’t put people under pressure. When you’re working with Robbie, he’s easy to talk to, so you can be open to him.

Always so difficult to get out of my head how I expect a new website to look and feel. Robbie was very good at making the process run smoothly and kept me up to date along the way. Due to Covid 19 and the lockdowns, most communication was by video link. I was apprehensive of this to start with, however, I was soon put at ease with RJM's relaxed positive attitude to the project.

I asked them not to use a Wordpress based solution so they found a more appropriate one for me. I wanted to be fully involved in the design and layout which l was.

We were usually in touch with each other every week and several times a week depending on what we were working on.The team was on time to our scheduled meetings and had answers to all my queries each time. We used video calling most of the time, using zoom and booked on calendarly.

Robbie is always available to speak with and gives his full attention. If he doesn't have the answer he will come back with it within 24 hours. Very easy to communicate with and in fact a joy to work with.
