Luby provided two solid developers. The java developer focused on a data gateway that collects, validates, and sends data to the central platform. The python developer is helping extend platform API capabilities.

After discussing our requirements, Luby was able to find team members to help us deliver quickly. Luby Software was able to successfully deliver the final product while adhering to our goals, requirements, budget, and timelines.

How did Luby Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great as they’re relatively in the same time zone as us and they have excellent communication skills.

We initially used Trello as a management tool, but we’ve since switched to Azure DevOps. We typically interact through Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, and phone.

We like how they were able to turn into our true strategic partners because they understand our business and we’re really pleased with their involvement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re currently working on providing Salesforce expertise, so we’re looking to collaborate on that front.

Before working with an external vendor or offshore provider, make sure you have a couple of reference calls to better understand what they can offer you.

Luby was found through internet searches and the decisive factors for the selection of the supplier were the alignment meetings, which provided confidence and firmness for the realization of the project.

The main idea of ​​ERP is to merge the 3 Delphi systems that we currently have, in a single product, in a more current platform with more technology and resources, modularizing and configuring according to the needs of each client. As this is a very complex and extensive project, deliveries will be divided into stages, and at first we are prioritizing the Caderno de Campo module, specifically for Agro customers. The technologies used in the development are: JavaScript Node JS React JS React Native

Deliveries are punctual and the results have been as expected.

Communication tools such as skype, whatsapp and meetings scheduled weekly via google meet are used to deliver sprints and debate tasks/clarification of doubts. Trello is the tool used to document the tasks to be performed by developers. It's a very dynamic tool and has been serving well and with agility, as we can see the progress and construction of the project evolving every week.

Their organization, commitment, and dedication are outstanding.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We can evolve a little in the testing part, always seeking to improve the tool and minimizing the number of errors reported after the revisions.

At the moment, we have the challenge of creating a pool of suppliers that can support us in the various challenges that we have in the company. From the work proposal and the previous cases were also important to start the partnership.

The project is still under development, but the team has supported a lot in the development of the web platform, as well as in the communication flow between the rural producer and the system, which uses chatbot-based technologies to direct and automate the process flow.

We use agile management within the project and the day-to-day of suppliers is facilitated with the support of the scrum master and a project analyst who is responsible for the deliverables together with the customer. On a daily basis, the team performs all scrum rites, such as refinement, planning, daily, review and retrospective.

I am impressed with their ease of adaptation to our work processes and their massive contributions to the agenda.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At the moment, the only point of improvement that I see is in relation to the initial time of allocation of the team, which ended up taking a little longer than expected.

They utilized Adobe design tools for sharing mock-ups with us. And we took advantage of several Agile technologies and processes to produce work and collaborate together. Microsoft Teams interaction helped tremendously.

We started with 3 team members - a project manager, product designer, and tech lead. Our engagement has been ramped up and we are now working with an additional 5 members - 1 tech lead, 2 front-end developers, and 2 back-end developers.

The project is not complete yet but we have seen significant progress with our project through Luby's assistance.

Project management is very timely using tools such as email and Microsoft Teams. We also use Azure DevOps for Feature, User Stories.

The company seems very progressive and is growing. They have proactively made visits to our Corporate headquarters and have talked to us about their community and how they work with a local college to acquire talent. They get involved early with students and work to provide them with opportunities at Luby. They are a very solid company with great ambitions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

So far, I don't see anything that could be done better. Like mentioned earlier, they communicate well. We had one instance early on in the project where there were some processes that were not working between our teams. We got on a meeting and worked everything out, shifting how work was provided and reviewed, and things are working smoothly once again.

In January 2020, we decided to accelerate the company's digitization, in the microservices architecture, which allows parallel programming of multiple microservices. In Brazil, the transfer is within the SPB environment, and we start building Internet Banking. Of the 5 necessary features, 2 are already delivered, (TED and PIX), missing slips (Issuance and payment), Consumer Accounts and Taxes. In the roadmap, we expect this to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

Like every process, our product managers and the Luby team were learning to work together. Today we use Agile Scrum Manager and productivity is increasing day by day

Luby has around 100 collaborators. They train developers to scale up the programming with specialized management.

Yes. Finance specialists who understand the business and be more assertive in terms of deadlines.

I’m the COO and CTO at USEND. We’re a syntax or a NeoBank, and we provide financial services to the US, Canada, and Brazil.

Luby Software works in a way in which we outsource engineers that work full-time and exclusively for us, except that the payroll is handled by their team. Our project management is in-house, so they just assign development tasks for them to execute. They work in conjunction with our internal team on development for different projects, specifically for mobile applications.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We work on methodology sprints and Luby Software has been executing on everything we proposed. They’ve been meeting every goal, and the product is working. Our QA department has tested the quality of the product and we’ve been very happy with it — that’s why we still use them as our resource not so many years later. 

How did Luby Software perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management is through a direct employee of ours, and we get reports every week about the progress of the project. Whenever there is an issue, they address it right away and they are really on top of facts. We never leave reviews for our vendors, but when they requested us we were quite happy. They’ve been doing phenomenal — we’re happy with their performance.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive aspect about Luby Software is their honesty. When you outsource a third-party company, honesty and transparency around billing along the way are greatly appreciated. We’ve grown tremendously as a company, and they’ve been able to sustain our needs as we grow.

There’s nothing that they could improve. We’re extremely happy with everything they’ve done for us — they have to stay the same. 

Any advice for potential customers?

We manage our project management in-house, so I don’t know what it is like when they do the project management. I know that now they offer those services. However, we were very successful when managed by us. The goals and expectations were set up internally, and we utilized them for the execution. That has worked very well for us.
