I’m the owner of Truckers Books. We manage bookkeeping for truckers.

My “contact us” form was malfunctioning, and I had to file the forms manually.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted to automate my manual system so I could manage customer interactions online and via email.

I found them through a web search.

They transitioned me from a manual system to an automated one. Now, customer details are in my email, and I don’t have to fill out paper forms by hand. They’re currently working on an app marketing project for me.

I’m working with developers, designers, project managers, and the CEO himself.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I’m much more relaxed now that I don’t have to manage everything on paper. My customers no longer receive hard copies of their documents, and I have more free time. The new system is much handier than the old one was.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

My project manager made many suggestions that made my life easier. Their CEO is a great coder and is well-versed in many technologies. They were really helpful in taking care of my project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They keep their word and deliver what they say they will. They knew exactly what I wanted and what I was thinking. They have awesome people.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not at this moment. They’re one of the best companies I’ve come across.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of Swoopos. We develop mobile payment systems such as POS, digital wallets, and online e-commerce platforms.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lexx Digital?

We needed a company to develop our omnichannel ePOS mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I shared with Lexx Digital the vision I had when I started my company. I bounced a lot of ideas off of them. Then they went away to flesh out their thoughts. They came back and presented me with options. Once we settled on an idea, they began development of a tablet device for merchants at restaurants or bars.

Lexx Digital first built an iOS app and now are working on an Android version. They’ll be moving on to a Windows version next. It incorporates e-commerce built on PHP. It’s a huge ecosystem, and the back office is online as well. There's quite a lot of moving parts. They built everything native and from scratch. Also, they've helped out a lot with online marketing, SEO, and social media marketing.

What is the team composition?

At the peak, we worked with 17 team members. It sits at 12 now. We work with a project manager, business analysts, graphic designers, and a number of developers for iOS and Android.

How did you come to work with Lexx Digital?

I just found them online on a freelance website. I spoke to a lot of companies and they came across much more professional.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent £150,000 (approximately $190,000 USD) to date.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2016 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I've raised over £1.2 million on the basis of the technology that Lexx Digital built. The growth of my company is attractive to clients. Over 500 vendors and around 50,000 users are already using the app since it launched last August. The success is a byproduct of having solid technology. I’m happy with the product they helped bring to market.

How did Lexx Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team works with mine on a daily basis. It's been a collaboration from the beginning. They’re good at getting the ideas flowing. They've also taken over a lot of the marketing, which they offer at quite reasonable prices. They’re very professional, and really understand the product and the scope.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I can't speak highly enough about Lexx Digital. They're a fantastic company. I consider them part of my team. We have an excellent rapport. We couldn't have done this without them, and I don't want to be doing it with anybody else. They give me the confidence as an entrepreneur to get my business off the ground. It’s such a minefield out there. It’s really nice to have a tech company like them in my corner from day one.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. If anything, I could be more organized. We haven't had any major issues over the years, so it's been great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They will help highlight your idea’s shortcomings right from the initial meeting. It’s a good conversation and brainstorming session. They're very creative and forward thinking, which is good because it was all new to me. They helped me better understand how my product works and where that market is going.

I contacted them to upgrade my systems, and they took over the entire development for my product.

Their CEO convinced us that they were a better option than our previous developers, but that turned out to be a big mistake.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

Lexx Digital has wasted nine months of my life. They’re great at saying what they can do and writing documentation, but they don’t actually execute in an organized manner.

How was project management handled?

Again, it was an awful experience. They didn’t have any real management skills, which meant there was a sever lack of productivity from their team. There were lots of unfulfilled promises on basic tasks, and their developers constantly moved on to different projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should close their business because they don’t have any integrity whatsoever. They told us that everything was good when they really didn’t have a grasp on anything. And they took our money without delivering.

Any advice for potential customers?

Stay well away from them. I took them on for three projects at the same time, and each has been the worst experience I’ve ever had.
