The Lead Love team took a comprehensive look at our current marketing activities (or lack thereof) and created a comprehensive strategy to capitalize on the B2B marketing space. Deliverables included revamping our blog strategy to posting brief, quick hitter videos, optimizing our online profiles on websites such as Upwork and Clutch, and driving inbound traffic.

I’m the CRO of Investments & Wealth Institute, a nonprofit association. We serve about 17,000 financial advisors and provide them with education and other opportunities to help them with their businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lead Love?

We use HubSpot for marketing and sales purposes and needed some help with the platform. Our main struggles were staff training, understanding best practices with the platform, and access hierarchy.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lead Love provides us with CRM consulting. Initially, they did an audit and advised us on how to improve our HubSpot use. From there, we decided to engage them on an ongoing basis. We told them our needs and made some requests. They’ve provided us with several recommendations about governance and access. 

Aside from CRM consulting, Lead Love has helped us with best practices and workflows. They’ve also done a lot of data cleanup for us. Additionally, the team will set up sales reporting for us using templates they’ve designed to get data out of HubSpot in a better way. Their current services comprise 30% of what we’ve asked for and 70% of their recommendations.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure Lead Love's success based on comprehensive presentations, the system cleanup on the backend, and implementation best practices. The value of the information Lead Love has provided has been excellent. Moreover, their follow-up work has been satisfactory, and they've given us new ideas and best practices we would never have come up with on our own. 

Although we still have a lot of cleanups to do and have to implement different practices, we've already seen some results in terms of staff efficiency. In any platform, there are different levels of users, from beginners to experts, and Lead Love has been able to help us with teammates at all different levels. 

Initially, we came to Lead Love with a certain number of problems, and the team has solved them and brought other issues to our attention. Thanks to them, we've realized there's more work we need to do. 

Since Lead Love works with many other companies, they bring broad experience to the table. They know best practices from other vertical markets that can apply to us. So far, we've had an excellent engagement with them.

How did Lead Love perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet deadlines and stay within the budget. Most of our communication has been through Zoom or email. Lead Love has set up a sandbox on HubSpot so that their work doesn't disrupt our daily tasks.

Lead Love's main strength is their availability. With some organizations, it's hard to get in touch with someone. Meanwhile, Lead Love is very hands-on and available. 

Moreover, Lead Love's team has sharp and smart people that understand the platform. They take things other businesses have done in different vertical markets and apply them to virtually any market. As a result, they're helping us think through our lead-generation process, which brings a lot to the table. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't have any constructive feedback at the moment; they've checked all the boxes to help our teammates with different levels of experience.

I recommend doing discovery work upfront. Lead Love is very quick to turn around a proposal and recommendations. Moreover, their pricing is fair.

We started working together in January 2022, and they finished the implementation around June 2022. Currently, Lead Love provides us with ongoing support and helps us make changes to our system. Moreover, we’re looking into working with them for lead generation and marketing.

Lead Love delivered more than what they promised; we had a great experience with them. Now, our entire company is using the workflows that Lead Love set up on HubSpot, and they work really well. Lead Love was able to set up our processes in one place, which was the success metric for this project.

How did Lead Love perform from a project management standpoint?

Lead Love went above and beyond regarding project management, and the timeframe in which they completed the implementation was very reasonable. Their team was so responsive and helpful that we continued working with them on other projects.

Lead Love worked mostly off-site, although they came twice to our office as well. We mainly communicated via phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lead Love’s strengths were their responsiveness, technical ability, flexibility, knowledge, and cost.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been great if Lead Love had given us stronger advice. Sometimes, we felt that we made things more complicated than they needed to be.

Take their advice seriously. Lead Love is really good at what they do, so don’t overcomplicate things and let them guide you.

We’re impressed with Lead Love’s expertise across HubSpot. They understand all of the facets of HubSpot, so they’ve been able to provide us with recommendations on things that we should be doing to use HubSpot to its fullest potential.

Try to have a very detailed list of all of the things that you're looking to get done. Make sure to be open-minded and to ask for recommendations on how to execute those things and how to do additional things inside of the platform that can help your business.

I've worked very closely with Grace and her team from day one. They treat our firm so well and are always extremely timely in their replies and deliverables.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have seen an increase in applications and in engagement from applicants and their campaigns are truly interesting to prospective families.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow is seamless with quick turn arounds. We never wait on deliverables and they always see and hear what we need.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

There are so many impressive components. For one, they are super innovative and are always thinking about us and implementing strategies. They are not the type of firm that collects monthly retainer but you need to seek out. Their proactivity is remarkable. Second, they constantly run metrics to actually check performances and report back to us with clear, understandable data. Finally, they are genuinely kind and professional which makes all the difference.

I can't think of anything.

I’m the managing director of an investment management firm that focuses on private debt and growth equity. In my role, I oversee our fundraising and marketing efforts.

We originally managed our outbound marketing efforts using a simple HubSpot email template, but I wanted to step up the firm’s marketing and branding efforts before things got too complex. Lead Love has been instrumental in making our automated marketing more effective.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

I work with Grace (Founder) to scale up our HubSpot marketing automation, looking at streamlining ideas, workflows, and sequences for several of our products.

Typically, I’ll tell her about an issue that we might be having or note a gap in a particular part of the sales cycle, and Grace sets up the HubSpot environment to address that. She builds internal workflows and marketing lists, adds automatic notifications to make sure I follow up with prospects consistently, and more.

Now, I get weekly reminders to review key data and can easily pull in relevant contacts that have the highest level of actively. 

Grace is also guiding me through website tracking, which helps me understand how to find quality prospects and label them appropriately in HubSpot. That way, I know what to work from and can efficiently distribute those leads to other team members.

Grace is my main point of contact. She’s the right person for me because she’s patient and willing to do the necessary tedious work that will ultimately help us become more efficient. I’m not bogged down with endless documentation to go over. Rather, Grace really takes the time to understand our goals, identifies what needs to be done, and sets things up for us.

How much have you invested with them?

To date, we’ve spent between $5,000–$10,000. I plan to keep working with Grace for at least two more months, and she’ll be my go-to for any HubSpot questions beyond that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started to get everything set up in HubSpot in December 2019. Since then, the engagement has evolved into its second phase. I’m now getting deeper into the weeds to utilize HubSpot’s best features and am onboarding other team members.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The work Grace does sounds simple, but it can get really complex when you look at the bigger picture. There’s a lot that goes on. We have webinars, email blasts, and advanced one-on-one prospecting — if you’re not careful, you won’t be able to keep everything straight. 

That’s where Grace helps me the most. Before starting our current campaign, I had almost 10,000 contacts that were completely unmanageable. She’s been able to look at large amounts of data and has helped us label and streamline those segments utilizing internal workflows. That’s saved us lots of time.

How did Lead Love perform from a project management standpoint?

Grace is quick to grasp our needs and identify opportunities, regardless of where a customer is in the funnel. Every week, we have a review call to go over what we want to implement, and I show her my CRMs.

We use HubSpot for marketing and lead prospecting/nurturing, but we also use another CRM to track our high-level sales activities, which is a different part of the cycle. Grace is able to identify what I need to do on the frontend of the sales pipeline to maximize and close opportunities.

What did you find most impressive about them?

She’s fantastic to work with. If you’re a person who is very urgent and wants everything done immediately, she’ll try to respond at that cadence. Conversely, she’s patient when there are delays on our side and can jump right back in when we’re ready.

I also appreciate that Grace isn’t afraid of pushback. She’ll tell us if she doesn’t think something will work and offer alternatives. If there are outstanding items, she’s good at following up with us.

No, it’s been a very good experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about your goals and the scope of work. I’m very familiar with my system, which meant I knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish and where we could improve our automation. 

Grace is a great consultant, too. It’s worth it to build in the extra hours into the contract to strategize with her. She’s good at helping you figure out your pain points. I’ll often ask her for tips on best practices or how other people have handled similar issues we’ve faced, and she’s come back with helpful advice.

They looked at our digital presence and found that our website had no automation in the request for a quote process. They streamlined that process by creating a workflow that prequalifies requests. They integrated our site with Calendly so we can schedule consultations more efficiently.

They helped us build out a CRM system through HubSpot. Now, we can send automated email responses through it, which is another big timesaving measure. 

They also did SEO work with content link-building and Google Ads.
