Describe what your company does in a single sentence.
We own and operate a chain of independent pharmacies across the Denver metro area. We needed a modern, centralized admin panel to replace our outdated mix of spreadsheets, legacy software, and manual processes. The system had to handle multi-location inventory management, prescription tracking, employee scheduling, real-time sales and performance reporting, and strict regulatory/compliance requirements.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
JustSoftLab was engaged to design and develop a fully custom admin panel for our chain of independent pharmacies in the Denver metro area. The existing workflow relied on a fragmented mix of Excel spreadsheets, outdated off-the-shelf software, and manual processes across multiple locations, which created inefficiencies, errors in inventory tracking, and compliance risks.
The scope of work included the following phases and activities:
Discovery & Requirements Gathering
In-depth interviews with our pharmacy managers, pharmacists, and administrative staff to map current processes and pain points.
Creation of detailed user stories, process flows, and functional requirements.
Analysis of regulatory requirements (HIPAA compliance, DEA controlled substance tracking, Colorado state pharmacy board rules).
UI/UX Design
Wireframing and high-fidelity mockups for desktop and tablet interfaces.
Design of an intuitive, role-based dashboard (separate views for owners, store managers, pharmacists, and inventory staff).
Multiple rounds of feedback and iterations until final design approval.
Backend & Frontend Development
Full-stack development using modern technologies (React for frontend, Node.js/Express or similar for backend – exact stack chosen by JustSoftLab for performance and security).
Secure user authentication and role-based access control (RBAC).
Real-time data synchronization across all pharmacy locations.
Integration with existing third-party systems (POS, wholesaler APIs for inventory ordering, and prescription management tools).
Core Feature Development
Centralized inventory management with low-stock alerts, automated reordering suggestions, and lot/expiration tracking.
Prescription workflow tracking and reporting.
Employee scheduling module with shift conflict detection and time-off requests.
Real-time sales and performance analytics dashboard with customizable reports.
Compliance logging and audit trails for controlled substances and regulatory reporting.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
User acceptance testing (UAT) with our team across several locations.
Security and penetration testing to ensure HIPAA compliance.
Performance testing under multi-location load.
Deployment & Post-Launch Support
Staging environment setup and final data migration from legacy systems.
Production deployment with zero-downtime strategy.
On-site and remote training sessions for staff.
3 months of post-launch bug fixes and minor adjustments included.
Summary of Key Deliverables
Fully functional, secure web-based admin panel accessible from any browser.
Responsive dashboard with role-based views and real-time data updates.
Complete feature set: inventory management, prescription tracking, staff scheduling, advanced reporting, and compliance tools.
Comprehensive documentation (user manuals, technical architecture diagrams, API docs).
Admin and end-user training materials and sessions.
Source code ownership and handover package.
Ongoing support agreement option (which we later extended).
The entire project was delivered on time and within the agreed budget, with clear milestones and transparent communication throughout. The final product has become the central operational hub for our pharmacy network and continues to deliver measurable efficiency gains.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since launching the custom admin panel, we've achieved clear, quantifiable improvements in our pharmacy operations:
Inventory accuracy improved dramatically: Discrepancies and stock errors dropped by over 40%, reducing shrinkage and emergency orders.
Real-time reporting enabled faster decisions: Managers now access live sales and performance data across all locations, eliminating daily manual report compilation (previously 2–3 hours per day per store).
Compliance and scheduling errors nearly eliminated: Automated audit trails and shift conflict detection reduced documentation mistakes and scheduling issues by approximately 90%.
Operational efficiency gains: Overall staff time spent on administrative tasks decreased by 25–30%, freeing up more hours for customer service and patient care.
Quick ROI: The system paid for itself within the first 4–5 months through reduced losses, lower overtime, and optimized ordering.
These results have made the admin panel an indispensable tool for our Denver pharmacy network, with ongoing benefits as we continue to scale.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
JustSoftLab handled project management in a highly professional and structured way that made the entire process smooth and predictable.
They used an Agile approach with two-week sprints, clearly defined milestones, and a shared Jira board where we could track progress in real time. Weekly status meetings and detailed sprint reviews kept everyone aligned, and we always knew exactly what was being worked on, what was completed, and what was coming next.
All key deliverables — from initial designs and prototypes to the final production release — were delivered on time. Minor features that required adjustments were handled efficiently within the same sprint or the next one, without pushing back the overall timeline. The project launched exactly on the agreed date, with no last-minute surprises.
The team was exceptionally responsive to our needs. Whenever we had new requirements, questions, or feedback (often from testing with our pharmacy staff), they acknowledged it quickly — usually within hours — and provided thoughtful solutions or estimates. They were proactive about flagging potential risks early and suggesting practical alternatives that fit both our budget and timeline. Even with the time zone difference, communication never felt delayed, and we always felt like a priority.
Overall, their project management was one of the strongest aspects of working with JustSoftLab — transparent, flexible, and fully focused on delivering real value to our business.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What impressed me most about JustSoftLab was their genuine partnership approach and deep understanding of the pharmacy industry. They didn’t just execute the spec — they proactively identified risks and opportunities specific to our regulated environment and proposed solutions that saved us time and money. This level of insight and ownership, combined with consistently clear and timely communication, made them feel like an extension of our own team rather than an external vendor.
Are there any areas for improvement or something JustSoft Lab Inc. could have done differently?
Honestly, there were no significant issues — the project went exceptionally smoothly. If I had to suggest one minor area, it would be providing even more detailed initial estimates for potential third-party integrations (we added a couple mid-project). But they handled the changes flexibly and transparently, with no impact on budget or timeline. Overall, nothing that would deter me from working with JustSoftLab again.
