Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the VP of marketing for MembersFirst Credit Union. We are a full-service financial institution.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with JH Media Group?
We had a template-based website, and we were looking to expand and personalize our website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
JH Media took the website that we had been working on with another company, and is revamping it to make it more personal. They moved our platform from ExpressionEngine to WordPress so we could have more flexibility on the website in terms of editing and maintenance.
They came up with a marketing plan for the website, and we started doing shoots and testimonials with our customers. They are making the website more visible online and working on our SEO. We’re limited in the scope of what we’re able to do for SEO, but they’ve given us the tools to be more successful in that.
In our industry, being ADA compliant is very important, and that has been a huge focus for them. They make sure that our website is staying compliant, and they continue to review that periodically.
In the past, they have also worked with us on our online campaigns in order to increase our visibility.
What is the team composition?
In the early stages, we were working with Jason (Owner, Founder), but now our main point of contact is Lucas (Project Manager). He’s the person who has done the most work on the website and our go-to person. We are also in contact with Michelle (CEO).
How did you come to work with JH Media Group?
We were working on our website with a company that dissolved, and we were one of the clients that JH Media took on during that time.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve been working with them for over 10 years, and in that time frame, we’ve invested more than $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in June 2010, and it is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have been working with JH Media for 10 years and have never gone anywhere else.
How did JH Media Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Everything they do for us is on demand, and we do not have a regularly occurring contract with them. When it comes to planning a project, they do a really great job of thinking outside the box and making sure that we have everything that we need.
We haven't worked on any major projects since 2020, but they are really good about organizing and stating resources to give us a timeline. When we call Lucas and tell him what we need, he sets it all up and gives us a timeline that is normally very accurate. They are very organized in giving us the scope of what we should expect and what the challenges and options are going to be.
There was a point in time when they were running low on resources and that became a bit of an issue, but they were able to correct everything for us and pull people in so we could meet our deadlines.
We primarily use Asana for project planning, and for meetings or recordings they create for us, we use Google Meet or Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are very responsive when we bring things to their attention, and they always give us a reason to stay.
They are very good about organizing projects, giving us timelines, and stating the resources that we are going to need. We work with them on an on-demand basis, and whenever we call them about a project, they put everything together for us in a timely manner.
Their prices work for us, and we feel like everything is reasonably priced for the work they do and the amount of time they spend on projects. They are very good about estimating how long a project will take and are very transparent about that upfront. Transparency is something that we really appreciate from them.
Their communication and responsiveness are one of their biggest strengths. If there is a problem, they are willing to work through it and help us figure it out.
They are always flexible and accommodating with us. As a financial institution, there are certain pieces of our website that cannot go down, and they always work with us to make sure that never happens, even when we have to shift things around on the website. They understand what is important to us as a business and prioritize that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
At one point, we would have said that they needed more resources, but they solved that issue. There is nothing more that they could be doing for us right now.
