An online marketing agency has hired Incrementors Web Solutions to provide ongoing SEO support for an end client. The team creates keyword lists and is responsible for technical, off-page, and on-page SEO.
Although it’s only been a month, the client and end client have already seen an increase in the click-through rate on the main website. Incrementors Web Solutions sticks within the budget and communicates effectively via a shared Google Sheets and Slack. They’re dedicated, diligent, and available.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of an online marketing agency based in Sweden. I work towards the Swedish and Scandinavian markets, filling all positions in the company. Since it’s only me, I do almost everything at this stage. I have a partner who’s more focused on sales; he isn’t involved in the company yet.
I usually work with consultants or freelancers to help me with internal tasks. I also have people helping with accounting, some marketing, and copywriting. However, it's just me when it comes to people inside the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Incrementors Web Solutions?
I’d worked with a client for almost one year and a half on Google Ads and Google Analytics services. A month ago, we included SEO work to focus on for three months or hopefully a bit longer. I needed help with this service because it was pretty broad and included a lot of tasks.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve agreed that Incrementors Web Solutions will do full-scale SEO for my client’s main website. They’ll do off- and on-page SEO and technical SEO. For our other websites or clients, they’ll primarily focus on on-page SEO and running ads.
Initially, we audited both websites. Afterward, we made an execution plan down to monthly and weekly levels so we could follow up on all the tasks we’d do.
Incrementors Web Solutions has come up with all the keywords. They send me a sheet with all the information I need, which they put together with the keywords’ difficulty and search volume. Then, they give me a list of interesting keywords to rank for.
Afterward, I approve the keywords we will focus on and change some of them to something more suitable. I sometimes change some keywords from a transactional level, meaning that words are focused on a regional area, and we’re focused on a national scale instead.
I make the changes, but Incrementors Web Solutions does most of the work. They provide me with the necessary information to make the final decision. I’m more involved with the homepage since the end client’s website is in Swedish; I support Incrementors Web Solutions on that part so the translations are smooth.
Additionally, we have KPIs in place to focus on driving more organic traffic and measuring its value and how it increases over time. We use different tools to measure that, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Semrush to track the keywords and rankings in the search engine.
What is the team composition?
We currently have 3–4 teammates, but I don’t know how many people are behind the scenes. Before we started, I thought there would be someone focused on on-page and off-page SEO, but we have one person actively working on SEO support. Additionally, there’s a member just named Incrementors on Slack, so I don’t know how many people are behind that login.
How did you come to work with Incrementors Web Solutions?
I posted a job request on Upwork before I had any project coming up. I just wanted to make sure that when a project was in place, I could have someone who could deliver good results for me. I received about 40 proposals within 2–3 days, went through all of them, and had discussions with some consultants and agencies.
I liked the message that Incrementors Web Solutions sent me; it addressed most of my problems and felt genuine.
In our one-on-one meeting, they maintained an excellent track record, assured me of many things, and mentioned pain points on my side. Since I had no immediate projects, they gave me a free audit for upcoming prospects. Additionally, they provided me with general information regarding their social services and SEO, so it was a clear choice for me.
Overall, they helped me with my sales work and provided me with the materials for that process, so I gave them the project and onboarded them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $1,000 since we started working.
What is the status of this engagement?
I initially contacted them in October 2023, but we started working together on our first project in May 2024.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
SEO usually takes more time to see clear results. However, at the pace that we’ve managed and cleared out tasks, we’ve already seen an increase in the click-through rate of our main website. We’ve also seen increased search impressions, organic traffic, and rankings. Although it’s small at this stage, we’re moving in the right direction and have the data from Google Console.
How did Incrementors Web Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They work within the budget. Sometimes, they miss deadlines for reports, but this hasn’t been a concern. We had a delay last week that caused minor problems with my reporting. However, they addressed the issue, and it won’t be a problem moving forward. Overall, we haven’t had any issues.
Incrementors Web Solutions sends me all the tasks they do. Sometimes I need to approve the tasks, but it’s a good way for me to follow up on what’s happening. I can also change things if I feel they’re not a priority or I think another approach would be more suitable.
They have a shared Google Sheets document where they update me with the plan and tasks needed, and I can jump in and edit things. We currently don’t have any project management tools. We communicate via Slack, where we have different channels through which we can speak with each other.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very dedicated and diligent; many providers aren’t the same way. Incrementors Web Solutions likes to work around the clock so that we can reach them all day, every day, 24/7.
Moreover, my best interest is their best interest as well. They work hard and are very dedicated to providing the best service possible. Other companies are lazy sometimes. Meanwhile, Incrementors Web Solutions provides me with what I need. I had a few requirements before we signed a contract together, and they met those requirements. They’re flexible in that way.
Overall, the team is doing a great job; I’m very satisfied.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We haven’t worked with them for a long time; it’s still the first month. Sometimes, I feel that we could have a faster pace in managing tasks, but everything’s good right now. Maybe they could improve on the deadlines we set out, but it’s a small thing. Overall, we’re very happy, and our client is also satisfied with the project so far.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend having a clear vision of what you want to do and ensuring that you’re transparent in your communication, your requirements, and whatever you feel is important. Incrementors Web Solutions will assess your needs and provide them for you. If you’re transparent about your requirements or the essential things to you, there won’t be any problems.
