We wanted to scale our content creation efforts to improve our SEO. Since, at this time, we didn’t have any copywriters in-house, we hired Smerk to develop high-quality and SEO-optimized content for our blog. Our goal was to grow traffic and conversions from our blog.

We used The Writer Finder to find copywriters that would match our criteria. We shortlisted 5. After testing their skills through the first content creation assignment, we chose Smerk. They were the most professional in terms of the quality of their content, speed of delivery, and good communication.

We initially agreed on 5 blog posts per month. We have shared with Smerk our content plan and the list of keywords we would like to target. We then shared our guest writing guidelines with the team to make sure that the style of the writing meets our requirements. For each of the blog posts, we would prepare a content outline and agree on the number of words.

We were working directly with the Founder - Hitesh. Initially, he was creating the majority of our content. Later in the process, some of his team members were also helping out.

Our blog grew thanks to a constant stream of new, high-quality, and SEO-optimized content. We grew our organic traffic from the blog by 36% q/q and conversions by 95%

We had a very efficient way of working together. We were usually aligned over email with the team, sharing the plan for the given quarter ahead of time and then sharing the outlines for the blog posts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Smirk’s team was always handing over all the content in time, often even ahead of the deadline. We didn’t have to make many changes to the final content. They always did detailed research for each content piece and ensured that the final outcome is of high quality.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be helpful to get some proactive suggestions from the team on potential topics we could write about. We also had to go through some rate changes which made it hard for us to stick to our marketing budget.

His articles are steadily climbing to the top of Google. Unfortunately I can't share numbers because of company policy, but some of the articles he has written have brought in a lot of valuable traffic for us.

The team is easy to work with. We send him briefs, he delivers us drafts. It's as easy as that. Communication is never an issue.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

His ability to communicate clearly and swiftly. I keep wondering where he is actually based because it doesn't matter when you send an email you almost always get a reply a few hours later.

Not that I can think of.

We've worked with Hitesh/SMEMark to create multiple articles for outreach purposes, creating guest articles and posts for publishers interested in our content. His great work on these lead him to creating a number of articles for one of our brand's websites too.

We created a pitch on the website Upwork, and Hitesh responded to it. With all the freelance writers we work with, after checking their previous writing credentials, we expect them to produce a high standard of work immediately. Hitesh's work has always been great, which is why we've continued to work with him and his team.

We've been creating large content pieces for the brands our company owns. These content pieces are then outreached to relevant publishers and blogs to earn our websites backlinks for SEO purposes. A lot of the time, the publishers will ask us to write a post for them based on our content. We've been working with freelancers such as Hitesh/SMEMark to create these guest articles.

After we initially spoke through email, we often will assign him an article brief. He will then respond with any questions to clarify, then will create the article. After sending to us, we edit it, and notify him of the changes - that he usually does immediately. Once we're happy with the article, he'll invoice us for the work.

So far, we've mainly worked with Hitesh directly.

His articles have always been to a high standard, meaning we've had no trouble getting them placed with the publishers. We've continued to work with Hitesh due to his high standard, especially compared to other freelance writers we've worked with.

Very clear and effective, Hitesh is always easy to discuss with.

Smemark always provides a high standard of work before the assigned deadline, which is very helpful. He even successfully created a great article that we needed the next day!

For the purposes we've needed him for, don't think there's much he could have done differently. A very satisfactory and amiable freelancer to work with.
