We contacted Hrenko Ltd. in the spring of 2023 to create a new tourism website. Following the agreement, we held several face-to-face and online meetings to determine the structure of the new website and formulate our expectations. It was important to us that tourists visiting Hortobágy could find all relevant information about the region's tourist attractions in one place, regardless of who operates the attraction. We specifically requested that the sights and locations be displayed on the website in map form, and we also managed to create a user-friendly event search interface. We organize several smaller and larger events in Hortobágy every year, and the new website plays an important role in promoting them. Overall, the result is a colorful, user-friendly site that is also optimized for smart devices. Particularly noteworthy from the point of view of website operation is the professional admin interface, which greatly facilitates website maintenance and operation. During the development of the website, the contracted company was able to fulfill all of our requests (graphics, visuals, search interface, map display), and they themselves provided professional support in realizing our ideas.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As a result of our joint efforts, a new website was created that meets almost all the needs of tourists visiting Hortobágy. In Hrenko Kft., we found a partner with whom we were able to maintain close ties even after the project was completed, and with whom we can collaborate on the further development of the website and other digital solutions.

Working with Hrenko Digital Agency was extremely smooth. We received timely answers to all our questions. During the development of the website, they had technical solutions for all our ideas and responded constructively to all our requests. The project was completed entirely within the previously set time frame.

We designed and developed a new tourism website that balances a clean, user-friendly structure with the city’s youthful and vibrant character. The platform reflects Eger’s core values while ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices. Instead of relying on templates, we implemented a custom-developed solution tailored specifically to local needs, covering everything from initial design to long-term maintenance.

Key Deliverables:

• UX/UI Design: A reimagined, youthful brand identity and clean interface.
• Custom Web Development: A unique Laravel-based framework (not a template).
• "My Eger" Feature: A custom function allowing users to plan trips and download personalized PDF itineraries.

The website was completed on schedule in less than six months, despite significant time pressure and a limited budget, and has been operating smoothly ever since thanks to ongoing maintenance. According to our measurements, both the city's residents and visitors are satisfied with the site, which now receives around 2 million page views annually. The website has enabled more effective outreach to tourists interested in Eger.

The agency was highly responsive and immediately available throughout the project, addressing all our needs with impressive speed. We maintained a hybrid communication model during development: while most interactions took place online for efficiency, they also made several personal visits to Eger to ensure alignment. We continue to be in frequent contact to this day, primarily communicating online, which reflects their long-term commitment and reliable support.

Branding: Logo and slogen: The idea was to create a logo that reflects the values and the heritage of the Archdiocese,  and while being elegant and modern at the same time.

Webdesign:  We wanted to create an easy to use webpage presenting more than 1000-year-old historical, cultural and religious heritage of the archdiocese to a wider audience with the aim to make all of our treasures better known. The webpage design follows the tourism trends of presenting destination.
