My partner and I were busy creating the new company, so we needed a company outside of Switzerland to do our web development and branding. That is why we hired Hashtag Developer.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hashtag Developer designed our logo using Adobe Illustrator. They also developed our corporate identity and company profile and incorporated those elements into our business cards, letterheads, and eventually our website. The team utilized WordPress to create a homepage, contact form, and products and service catalogue within the website.

We searched online for vendors in other countries since web development and branding services are expensive in Switzerland. We also looked through Clutch until we eventually found Hashtag Developer. 

Their website showed some of their previous works, which I thought were really good. We sent them a request, received a good offer, and started working on the project.

We started working together towards the end of July 2021. Our partnership is ongoing.

Hashtag Developer is very good at understanding the project and the ideas that we send them. They also work and respond to our questions quickly.

How did Hashtag Developer perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a good job of managing the project. When they set a deadline, they will reach it and stay true to their promises. We use email, WhatsApp, and Google Meet to reach out to each other. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This team is very quick to capture what their client wants. By simply asking us to send over some of our ideas, they can easily determine what they can do for us. They deliver on their promises and stick to their deadlines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m really satisfied with their work.

Hashtag Developer works quickly, so you have to keep along with them and immediately send back any information or ideas that they ask from you.

I met Himanshu through a Facebook Business group we’re both a part of. I knew he was capable of doing high-quality work with quick turnarounds. Because of this, I spoke with him. I saw examples of his previous work and contacted references. He then agreed to my requirements, so I moved forward.

I had a very positive experience working with them. My metrics were whether the deliverables were what I required. They consistently delivered everything I required, frequently delivering above and beyond what I desired.

They’re very responsive and invested in getting the job done. They’re always willing to help. The communication continues to be perfect. They’re incredibly responsive. I can chat with them whenever, and if it’s more complex they’ll hop on a call.

They’re doing very well. Selfishly, I wish they’d add more services so I could work with them even more. I trust them, so I’d love to work with them more.

Have a clearly defined plan with timelines. Make sure they’re all understood and that there is alignment before you begin.

they have been a key part in our progress of further development of our program. They helped us create flows and processes on stages/departments within our business processes from admin , measure, drafting, manufacture & Install. It can be somewhat hard to take over someone else work but they have done this well.

We have a part time it developer in house that is at early stages in his development career helping create diagrams and processes on our end with myself to put together and send across to the guys to create the website Program.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Its helped us improve flow times and notice any bottle necks in our processes. Now we are looking to improve areas that we didnt see as major issues before

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Management has been and still is done through 3rd party software recommended by the Hashtag Developer. Seem to work well and is very visual as to where and what stages tasks are at. Allowing us to see when tasks are at testing stage for us to test.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive thing about this company is having direct access to the owner. We can call or email if something is urgent. There is nothing better than being able to contact the highest person in the business that knows how to move issues forward asap

Are there any areas for improvement?

Maybe the if i had to give any advice for improvement it would be to have them travel and spent time with my company and see what/who they are working for or for them appreciated the importance they have on our business. To me this is minor but i think would make a difference to the clients confidence. Also to have a better visual of how the clients data is kept and protected from the outside world. I feel this is maybe something that im not clear on.

Creating a CMS website that we can edit later on and add more content.

We worked together on some other projects for a mutual client.

They developed custom portfolio website that consisted of homepage, about page, contact, case studies and articles. Case studies and articles are dynamic and we were able to add content ourself. The brief we delivered was very vague and unfinished, but the folks at hashtag developer did an outstanding job at creating everything that was missing, even doing microinteractions and all the details and some animation.

What was the team composition?

There were a couple people involved depending on what part of the project we were working on. I think I was talking to 3 different developers during the project. They were all very professional, kind and experienced at what they did. They went out of their way to accomodate us and educate us about how to use the final result.

We just rolled out the project and we'll yet have to see the results, but what I can say right now is that we have a mobile website that is working like a mobile app, which will definitely help mobile conversion rates and they did a great job at making the website SEO friendly.

Hashtag Developer helped design and develop a tracking platform. The app works on iOS and the web. They built the frontend in AngularJS. The tracking application contains a marker and an info window. It has public users, and it can be used to track a company’s Salesforce.

I work with 5–6 people, including a designer, an HTML/CSS developer, an AngularJS developer, and a dedicated project manager.

Almost everything Hashtag Developer built has been good so far; we’re only working on some small changes. The team has worked with us to fix any mistakes we’ve identified.

The project manager is used to handling this kind of work. He calls me regularly to report on progress, and he always asks me whether we’re satisfied or need anything. Hashtag Developer completed almost all the work perfectly on time. We use Skype for communication, and we send requirements through email.

The quality of their code is good, and so are their designs.

Hashtag Developer could improve their backend development skills in Java and other languages. They were good at the frontend part.

I’m the founder of DFS Services. We offer monitored security solutions. We have an alarm receiving center with 24/7 staff that can monitor the security of a home or a shop. Our other products include a smart camera and a smart doorbell button. The monitored security solution is our flagship product, and we have a set of products that includes IP cameras and smart doorbell ringers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hashtag Developer?

We initially approached the market for direct sales. We had a domain name, but we weren’t doing anything with it; it was there more for the sake of just having it.

 We realized that we needed to have a digital identity and an intuitive website. We also needed a social media presence, an SEO ranking, affiliate marketing, and Google Ads to get an established name. A cool website isn’t enough to convince the consumer that we’re a proper company. Before reaching Hashtag, I’d tried nearly five companies, individuals, and studios, and wasted a lot of money before hiring Hashtag Developers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hashtag Developer designed and developed the website. SEO isn’t their core expertise and they recommended another resource for that. Deliverables have included a 20-page booklet and page and flow designs. The team tracks tasks in a spreadsheet. They’ve recently developed a coupon functionality, which will go live in May 2019.

We work with the lead designer, project coordinator, and at least one developer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site had pathetic performance in the past. We had almost zero visitors, and we weren’t able to retain the visitors who did come. Now, the traffic on our web portal is 200–250 people every day, only 20–30 of which come from Google Ads. The traffic is coming from all channels, from Quora to social media, but our bounce rate and time spent on the portal are pretty decent.

 How did Hashtag Developer perform from a project management standpoint?

They used Jira as an online tool, but I prefer Excel. Consequently, I requested them to send me all their reports as spreadsheets. They reach out to me when they require my approval to modify a task.

 What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re understanding and considerate. I had wasted a lot of money at the beginning, and I couldn’t afford to spend any more. I explained this to Hashtag Developer, and told them that I’d only be paying for the designs I’d be using. I also asked for set budgets for the deliverables, which was difficult for them because they didn’t know how much the design or functionality would cost. But they accepted all of that, and they delivered.

 Are there any areas they could improve?

I’ve interacted with a lot of providers on behalf of other clients, and I’ve worked as a consultant myself. Hashtag Developer should be charging significantly more, and they should get a much better presence and clientele than they have now. Their communication is okay, but they lack business development skills. They’re good at what they do. But they don’t know how to sell themselves.
