What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

For our Annual Report, it is delivering a high-quality resource for us to use to highlight and showcase our mission. In addition, this piece is used with prospective donors, so has to be at a level that draws supporters in. For our website, this vendor rebuilt our entire website in a way that tells our story as our primary digital footprint.

We are currently exploring other web platforms with this vendor to better fit our internal needs. They have been very helpful in helping us navigate this space and providing direction. From a PR/Marketing lens, the overall visibility of our largest grassroots fundraising event is critical to raise awareness and additional funding in support of our mission.

I'm the Director of Production Operations & Marketing for MDH Foundation Repair, a company based in Daphne, Alabama. We provide clients in Alabama, the western panhandle of Florida, and parts of Mississippi with foundation repair and concrete leveling services.

We had worked with another marketing company for a number of years, but we decided to look for a change and bring fresh thinking to our marketing efforts. We wanted to find new partners who could join us and help us take things to the next level.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we provided Greenbaum Stiers with a number of existing assets. Additionally, we provided them with our brand style guide, target audience, demographics, and a lot of information about our company, such as our core values, guiding principles, and revenue targets. Since then, they've been taking care of our digital marketing efforts. Their work has included TV placements, Google Ads, website development and re-launch, direct mail, and strategic planning.

Initially, we had contact with two teammates from Greenbaum Stiers: Michael (President) and Anthony (Senior Business Growth Strategist). We had an initial consultation with them, and once we started gaining more traction toward a collaboration, we were introduced to more of their team, consisting of around a dozen members. Since then, they've assigned specific teammates to our project to help us with our day-to-day operations.

How did you come to work with Greenbaum Stiers?

We did our due diligence and interviewed various full-service marketing agencies, including Greenbaum Stiers. As part of our vetting process, we asked them questions about them, their previous projects, and their capabilities. Ultimately, we decided to award them the business.

We pay them around $2,000 per month, not including the actual marketing spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since November 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Actually, I have over 20 years experience working at full-services agencies before shifting careers in to the construction field, so I have a good idea of what a full-service agency can and should provide. That said, Greenbaum Stiers' work has been exemplary. Their contributions to our company from the branding, marketing, and advertising standpoints have been incredible; they've been a strategic partner.

Greenbaum Stiers has been providing great suggestions and established a great partnership in general, so they genuinely make us feel like we're their only client and that they have our best interests at heart — that's how much energy and time they put into our needs. Their team works very aggressively and diligently, doing everything they can and leaving no stone unturned to find the best solutions for us.

Moreover, they take feedback extremely well, so there's really a synergy. We've shared a number of data points and reports back and forth, so they have a deep knowledge of our business. They are constantly looking for ways to fine-tune adjustments and optimize their services.

In addition to that, Greenbaum Stiers is very results-driven, which is very good. They measure their metrics and results based on how well we're doing; that's how they guide their success, by whether we're getting the growth we expected and anticipated.

They've been an incredible marketing partner for us, as they've helped us with our revenue and, just as important, the planning for the type of marketing we want to execute, which best fits our model and company goals. Unlike our previous agency, Greenbaum Stiers' working style is to provide extremely in-depth information from a strategic standpoint.

How did Greenbaum Stiers perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is another area in which Greenbaum Stiers excels. They're on top of things every day, and their lines of communication are incredible. We have weekly meetings to go through everything. Still, there's a constant flow of communication with the project manager throughout the week. On top of that, their deadline adherence is impeccable.

I would like to give a shout-out to Michael, Anthony (Senior Business Growth Manager), Sam (Senior Account Manager), Alexia (Advertising Coordinator), Miles (Web Director), Nathan (Video Producer), Dale (SEO Optimization & Content Specialist), and Jordan (Senior Web Designer).

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team brings a tremendous amount of insight, resources, and suggestions to the table. They're constantly bringing new findings, data, and recommendations every week. Moreover, they're very open to our dialog and suggestions. Thanks to this approach, we've achieved a terrific synergistic partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Based on my previous experiences, Greenbaum Stiers is running like a well-oiled machine. Thus, I don't have any criticisms or areas for improvement. They're doing an amazing job, so I can only advise them to keep doing what they're doing so that they can continue to do great things.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Trust them because they're trustworthy, and they've earned it over time. Moreover, respect their expertise because they've demonstrated time and time again that they're well-versed and extremely in touch with what's needed to move a company forward. Be transparent with them and willing to engage and embrace them as partners. The benefits of doing so will be pretty obvious very quickly; they're just terrific.

We wanted to expand our business, so we hired Greenbaum Stiers to help with our marketing efforts, create a new website, and help with our online brand positioning. In general, we wanted the team to help with our brand. Additionally, our current SEO provider wasn’t paying enough attention to our main website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we had a conversation with Greenbaum Stiers about our wants and desires and where they could help with them. Greenbaum Stiers has helped us launch a new company; this has included creating an investor deck, a brand book, a photoshoot, and a website.

The team has also taken over SEO efforts for the TV mirror side of our main company. As a result of their SEO work, we discussed how redoing our main company’s website could better engage our customers, refresh the brand, and improve our SEO. We agreed, so Greenbaum Stiers has revamped our website using WordPress. This project has included refreshing our logo and color scheme. Currently, the team still handles tweaks on the site.

We started working with them around September 2022, the billing began in Q1 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to Greenbaum Stiers, the quality of our leads has improved, and our site traffic has increased 3x. The quality of the team’s work is excellent, and they are constantly filtering out the bad-quality leads. 

Greenbaum Stiers has honed our SEO to get us the type of customers we want to find. They’ve helped guide us through our decision to take money away from trade shows and put it online. We've gotten the investment back each time we’ve increased the budget. 

Due to the positive traffic from the team’s SEO work, we decided to go ahead with the website revamp. Although I was initially reluctant due to budgetary reasons, I am now very happy we’ve done it and wish we would have done it sooner.

The Greenbaum Stiers team has also been open to changes on our website to ensure we have the content we want. Our relationship with Greenbaum Stiers has grown as it has progressed; at every step, they’ve done what they said they would and delivered results, so we’ve added projects to our engagement.

How did Greenbaum Stiers perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver on time and within our budget and terms. Initially, they felt the project needed a bigger budget, and we set the terms. Greenbaum Stiers has worked on two sites simultaneously, leading a smooth process. They have a great team and are very easygoing regarding my schedule and attention; they understand I must run my business. 

Greenbaum Stiers walks us through the process, answers our questions, and prepares well before meetings, asking for what they need ahead of time. We meet monthly to review their work and see how it’s working. 

As for tools, we use emails, phone calls, and text messages. Since I’m busy running both companies, Hanna sends me text messages. Although it took us a minute to get a system down regarding communication, we’ve reached a point where they’re comfortable calling my phone.

Hanna has been great and, together with Anthony, has been driving the project home for us. Anthony drives the process, and Hanna keeps up with our schedule and follow-up, balancing everything. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Greenbaum Stiers’ SEO work is fabulous. Additionally, I’m very happy with the logo and colors for the new website. Initially, I didn’t know where to start, and we had a lot of back and forth with the Greenbaum Stiers team; they were patient with me and helped create the new brand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning, one of the teammates assigned to us was unresponsive, but Greenbaum Stiers replaced that resource. As soon as I provided the feedback to Greenbaum Stiers’ owner, he was on it and took care of the issue. In any business relationship, there are mistakes, and what’s important is how to handle them; Greenbaum Stiers has done a good job.

Upon onboarding with GSM, they first optimized our Google Ads account, ensuring that our site and products were connected properly and campaigns were set up to reach our goals. For most of the time working with them, we were solely utilizing their services for Google Ads with some additional hours going to overall marketing strategy/business consulting. In July 2023, we added social advertising management to our services with GSM.

Their team manages our Facebook ad campaigns while Vellabox provides copy and creative.

GSM has been excellent in terms of product management and communication. I always know when to expect updates and deliverables, as they are delivered on time and on the same schedule month-to-month. Aside from our typical monthly deliverables, they respond to questions quickly and are always flexible with additional requests from our team. GSM will often go out of their way to suggest additional ways for our company to improve even if it is beyond the scope of our services with them.

We are most impressed with GSM's client-centric approach. It's clear that they prioritize building personal relationships with their clients. They are genuine, transparent, and approachable and we trust them to make the right decisions with the money we have invested in advertising with them.

It would be nice to receive more quick notifications of notable changes within our ad accounts aside from monthly recaps. We may be able to provide clarity on why things change and/or capitalize on certain events to scale.

Lead cost and return on add spend numbers are good. Volume of leads is down but I don't believe that is an issue with anything that GSSMG is doing.

GSSMG is good about getting back to me and their time to completion is pretty good. When there is a lag, it is typically a communication issue and they do not have everything that they need. They are good about reaching back out to me to let me know they need something.

Biggest area of improvement would be working through some strategic moves on the marketing front proactively. They are good at executing a plan but I would like to see more proactive ideas and strategies to help the contractor adjust and make changes on the fly.

Since using Greenbaum our lead generation has at least doubled if not tripled. We are gaining far more organic leads due to the optimization's they have performed to our ads and website. Our brand has grown tremendously with their assistance.

I’m the owner and president of Kefficient, LLC, a waterproofing and crawl space repair company from Virginia.

When I started the company in 2016, I did all of our marketing and social media efforts. I didn’t know what I was doing; I searched for a vendor that knew what to do so that we could measure results. I then hired Greenbaum Stiers to build a new website and handle all of our marketing and print materials. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They first built a new website for me. Then, they handled our SEO efforts for us to be ranked on Google and for customers to find us online. They also researched our competitors and markets as they put together a comprehensive plan for our company to be more competitive in the areas we served. 

At present, Greenbaum Stiers handles all of our marketing and advertising efforts, whether they be PPC or social media ads on Facebook and Instagram. Since Mike (President) and Ron (Business Partner) have also been in the waterproofing industry, they already specialize in what we do. As such, they’ve done all the keyword research for us. They’ve also produced print materials that we hand out to customers, including business cards.

Anthony (Business Growth Strategist) is currently helping us with Google Guarantee, where Google performs extensive background checks on businesses, their licenses and insurance, and their business owners. If a customer uses Google Guarantee to hire a business like ours and something goes wrong, Google will give their money back. Our team is excited about this campaign. 

What is the team composition?

At the beginning of the engagement, my main point of contact was Mike. Since then, Anthony has been my main point person. I work closely with him for our campaigns. They also have teams that handle different tasks like PPC and social media ads. Essentially, I work with Anthony, and he engages other team members as needed.

How did you come to work with Greenbaum Stiers Strategic Marketing Group?

I originally worked with another agency, but they weren’t the right fit for us. They didn’t understand our industry at all. Then, I met Greenbaum Stiers at a waterproofing convention. I didn’t have any idea who they were, but they had looked at our website and gave us a detailed report on what it lacked and what we needed to do. They knew me because I did business with a distributor that they owned. In other words, they’d researched me before I even came to that event. They handed me a thick report, which impressed me further. As a result, we started working together. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent close to $200,000. This year alone, we’ll likely spend around $150,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in March 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our customers say that our website looks truly professional. In terms of results, our company has grown three times what we were before. Since then, we’ve doubled or tripled our earnings every year. 

How did Greenbaum Stiers Strategic Marketing Group perform from a project management standpoint?

Greenbaum Stiers’ project management is fantastic. When we get together on a particular project, they give me a time frame, and the team usually accomplishes the tasks ahead of time. On top of that, they’re highly responsive. To communicate, they’ve visited our facility and have met our team in the field. Most of the time, however, we talk through emails and phone calls. The team members are on top of any issues to correct them.

Furthermore, they’ve helped brand our company and determine how we want the public to perceive us. Moreover, they’ve enabled us to focus on who our customers are and which of them aren’t for us. In short, they’re great at setting goals and keeping us focused on them. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about them.

They’re true to their words; if they tell me they’re going to do something, they do it. They provide monthly updates on our progress and results, telling me what we need to do and improve. Members are constantly monitoring our campaigns, allowing us to refocus our resources to appropriate areas to get the best results. They tell me where we should put more money to avoid wasting them on campaigns that aren’t working well. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had some hiccups, but they’ve always addressed my concerns. Recently, we’ve had low lead volumes. As a result, they’ve looked at our campaigns and made suggestions and changes. We’ve put additional resources in different areas, and the efforts have been working.

Do your research, and look at the references or people they’ve worked with before. In our engagement, I’ve talked to such people, and everybody in my industry that’s been working with Greenbaum Stiers is growing in business year after year.
