We’ve seen significant upticks in site traffic since we’ve entrusted our SEO needs to GR0. Apart from educating us on what it takes to grow our business organically, they’re also working proactively to improve our conversion rate. SEO marketing may be a process of trial and error, but we’re always reassured that GR0 will lead us to the right path.

I am the Director of Growth for a small startup in the beauty and skincare space. We specialize in minimal beauty and helping educate women on over consumption the beauty industry has created over the past decades.

We hired Gr0 to help us in both onsite SEO and PPC. We noticed that there was a gap in our vertical when it came to SEO. A lot of our competition has overlooked this marketing channel and as a newbie entering a competitive market, this felt like I place we could start and own. We also wanted to own the first page on Google, so we needed a strong partner in PPC as well.

Gr0 was referred to us and we interviewed them along with 2 other agency partners that I have worked with in the past. It was their interesting SEO strategy that really had us intrigued, along with their price point. We are an early-stage startup so every penny counts!

We started with an onboarding call for both SEO and PPC where the Gr0 team came to us with a site audit they had done, along with competitive research. From there we discussed the lowest hanging fruit - keyword research on keywords we would go after, backlinking from all the press we were getting, and a sitemap which we didn't have.

Other items they help us with are creating blog content, running our PPC campaigns, shopping campaigns and most recently testing into Performance Max.

For SEO we have an account manager, an analyst, and blog copywriter. On the PPC side we have 2 account managers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since implementing PPC, we have successfully scaled our spend 124% while increasing the number of conversions by 131% and reducing cost/conversions by (3%). Since implementing SEO our organic traffic to site has increased by 28% with our CTR increasing by 39%. Plus the team is a delight to work with!

The team is incredible! I work with Michael and Tyler on the PPC side and they are awesome! Very knowledgable at all things PPC and do an incredible job at explaining everything they are executing on to me. Plus its fun to strategize with them!

On SEO I have the pleasure of working with LIz. First of all the girl is a hoot! Second she LOVES SEO and is extremely knowledgeable on the topic. It is not something I have a ton of background in, so she has been great at educating me along the way and I personally feel as though I can speak to the topic now!

Both teams are extremely organized, and communicate with me via slack which I love because my email inbox gets crowded with junk.

Their approach to SEO is really interesting and the reason we chose them in the first place. Also, their team is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to SEO and PPC, I am really impressed at what rockstars everyone is.

They have been great to work with, the hold ups tend to be on my teams end due to limited team members and resources.

We look at the performance of key search terms. We’re also looking at the change that’s been taking place over time as our keywords improved along with the revenue generated thanks to those changes.

They’re great, I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Be clear on the objectives for the business, and be able to accurately understand the economic value created from SEO for your company. SEO is not always directly attributable to things like e-commerce or a commercial result. Understand the value of customer interaction, website visits, and any kind of activity that you’re encouraging. Also, make sure that you have a clear understanding of what that’s worth so you can do your proper ROI calculation.

My organization is MitoQ and we’re a proprietary ingredient supplement company. My role is head of customer acquisition and I’m responsible for bringing new customers to the brand.

What challenge were you trying to address with GR0?

Because we’re an online consumer eCommerce business, our challenge was to reach people in the digital world and attracting them to share our proposition. As I’ve said we’re a supplement company that has made a scientific breakthrough product, so education is also a big challenge for us as well.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Effectively, GR0 is engaged to provide us with SEO services. There’s a whole repertoire of tactics that we employ, and one of them is around content creation. We have these pillars of content that help us provide information on the benefits of the products and attract more customers.

Another thing they do for us is backlink sourcing. They find relevant places on other websites that our content can be linked from, and they’re doing it through a variety of ways such as contacting publishers.

The third thing they do is help us with technical SEO to make sure that our site is as good as it needs to be from a coding perspective — they manage the markup structure of the pages, as well as the taxonomy of the website. Apart from that, they also provide us with keyword research, and progress reports. This helps us understand what’s going on, and also make decisions about what to do next.

We’ve been a customer of theirs for a couple of years and when we started, I worked with John (Co-Founder). At the moment, we’re working with two SEO specialists and one content producer.

We found them through a recommendation from our paid media agency. In terms of a selection process, we just evaluated GR0’s capabilities against what we knew of the market and needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

If we’re looking at traffic from organic search, it’s relatively steady, and it’s been modestly growing since we’ve worked together. What we also see are bigger spikes than what we previously had for other tactics such as campaigns or promotions. Moreover, GR0 is fixing a problem where we’re ranked in terms that have nothing to do with our company. Right now, they’re slowly, but surely replacing those terms with ones that do matter and are relevant to us.

We’re basically getting rid of bad traffic and bringing in new traffic at a terrific level, as well as doubling our gross income and seeing good returns.

How did GR0 perform from a project management standpoint?

GR0’s project management is very slick. At the beginning of this year, we’ve doubled our volume of work and it took us about a month to catch up. In my view, that’s amazing because they’ve done a huge jump in output. They use Google Workspace, a tool called Motion, and we use Slack as our primary communication tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that they’re just really responsive. Culturally speaking, everyone is aligned no matter what they’ve got going on. In addition, I just feel like they always go the extra mile to get more work done, since we’re in different time zones. We’ll have a call in the morning and expect results a couple of hours later.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I believe reporting could do some improvement with regards to SEO.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In selecting an SEO vendor, you just need to be very conscious of how they would fit into your overall communication strategy. However, my advice for working specifically with GR0 is to make sure they’re disciplined, and that their deliverables are being delivered on time.

I can say that GR0 is very responsive, and they act as an extension of the team, in the sense that they’re just ingrained with the process. We’ve definitely seen some great progress since we started working with them.

We have a shared Slack channel for us to talk on a day-to-day basis. We then use Notion to manage all our blog posts.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d say we’re impressed by their wide range of services at a reasonable fee.

No, to be honest. They’re working really well for us.

I would say to give them as much information as possible about what your goals are, and the types of keywords that work best. That would just help them get a better sense of where to focus their efforts.

I'm the CEO of Seabreeze Management Company. We manage high-rise and mid-rise products throughout California, Nevada, and Boise, Idaho. We manage about 90,000 homes and have 500 employees.

We needed to improve our SEO. We weren't ranking high on internet searches, whether those were for a homeowner's association management company or property management. We weren’t on pages 1–3. We hired GR0 to provide that service.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project is a year-long agreement, and we meet with GR0’s executives bi-weekly to talk about SEO. They are also creating new landing pages throughout the different regions in which we serve. GR0 also does brand and review management on Yelp, Better Business Bureau, and Google Reviews. They are working on brand awareness throughout multiple search engines and review platforms. They monitor our Google Ads and help to deploy monthly press releases throughout the organization.

We work with a team of five people in total, but we meet with Kevin (Co-Founder & CEO) on a bi-weekly basis.

How did you come to work with GR0?

We found them through a referral source company, and a partner company used them in the past. We did a very extensive RFP process and looked at five different companies. We chose them because they had a proven track record. They also had a specific deliverable that was quick, targeted, and exactly what we were looking for.

GR0 has a competitive offering. They offered a lot more under that retainer than some of their competitors did, so it was a one-stop shop where we could do a lot within one medium.

Our Better Business Bureau and Yelp management have changed. We've seen our position move on Google. They’ve also partnered us with a couple of other companies that help us with our regional footprint so that companies know where we are when we’re in specific regions. We are very satisfied with what we've seen so far.

They're on top of project management. GR0 has never missed a deadline; in fact, they’ve been ahead of some. They communicate regularly. We have a standing video meeting every two weeks to go over their progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

GR0 doesn’t work in a one-size-fits-all model. They’ve had extreme success with many companies, but they don’t come to you with that model. Rather, they come to you identifying your specific needs, and then they build their program around them, which was a huge differentiator for us.

Other companies let us know about the services they offer. We only needed a portion of those services, but they weren’t able to accommodate us. GR0 built their service around our specific needs, which was a huge differentiator for us.

Other companies we talked to only offered us their classic array of services. We only needed some things that the other companies didn’t include, so they couldn’t accommodate us.

They’re excellent. They keep us updated with emails, text messages, and scheduled calls every week with follow-up emails after every conversation. They use all the Google apps and Microsoft Excel, where they send reminders and to-do lists.

The quality and thoughtfulness of their writing are what stand out the most. They put a lot of effort into the planning and execution of the project, and it works.

We have seen ourselves ranking number 1 on Google for several important keywords in our industry, and our blogs have been elevated into real conversion drivers.

Gr0 is available whenever you need them; we met over Google Meets bimonthly to review everything in motion and stayed in contact over Slack in the meantime. Kirkland helped with various other aspects of the company's SEO efforts while helping manage a massive content push.

He has also provided guidance on the companies' onsite decisions and features.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their level of attention. They truly care about their clients and their work, and it shows in their results. They are easy to work with and take direction and feedback extremely well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had some nitpicks with Gr0: - Originally, they were delivering content to us a couple days past their set dates; however, they quickly brought on an additional writer and cleared up the problem immediately. - We felt we were a little more advanced in our SEO knowledge and resources for some of their onsite suggestions.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get to a place where we felt these recommendations were beneficial to us; please note: other companies could benefit greatly from these reports and ideas. We let them know our feelings and they quickly pivoted to focusing more on content and consultation. Very easy to work with in this way.
