We needed help with our email marketing and setting up the flows and promotions for both of our sites. We were using Klaviyo, which is a bit complicated, so we needed a professional to handle it.

What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, FlowCandy did an assessment of our needs in terms of using Klaviyo and created the different flows and promotions. We made a scope agreement, and I gave them some graphical elements to base their work on, but we mostly talked through the project.
Every month, we go through different graphic designs and set up a plan of action that incorporates the designs with the text and tone that we decide on. They create different elaborated flows and periodic promotions for both sites.
What is the team composition?
Aside from the owner, there are three people involved in the project. I mainly work with Milica (Director of Client Success). She’s in charge of the copywriting and designing of the different flows, and also acts as a project manager.
How did you come to work with FlowCandy?
I believe I found them in Upwork, but it’s been a while so I’m not sure. We had an initial meeting where I found out they were both economical and had mastery in Klaviyo. I really needed an overhaul of my email marketing because my inexperienced efforts weren’t sufficient, so I decided to hire them.

FlowCandy has increased our revenue by around 500%, especially on promotion sales. We are getting an estimated revenue of $5,000 on each individual promotion, which is a massive ROI.
How did FlowCandy perform from a project management standpoint?
FlowCandy’s project management is excellent. They’re quick, efficient, and communicative.
I’m usually very busy, so when they come to me for approval and I’m not being responsive, they do a polite follow-up — they work very efficiently.
When the ball is in my court, they don’t take the opportunity to waste time — they’re always on top of things. Communication has been excellent as well. If I have notes for them about things to change, they promptly change them.
We communicate via email, as it has been the most effective way for us to communicate. The project is managed directly in Klaviyo, which is where their work is done.
What did you find most impressive about them?
FlowCandy has really efficient workers, and they have a really good sense of capturing a product or brand tone. They also have a really good aesthetic sense and skills to implement good graphical designs. I’ve had some experiences with other agencies where that isn't the case, so it really makes a big difference. The team’s professionalism has been really great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be nice to have an occasional scheduled time where we review the performance to make sure there are not areas of improvement left behind. That's not really in the scope of what we currently do, but I'm sure that if I requested that, they could accommodate me.
Any advice for potential customers?
Go for it and don't be afraid to give them directions on what you want. Then, get feedback based on the work product that you receive. Also, you should go with FlowCandy's advice about the best practices because they're really up to speed in that area.

In the beginning, I wasn’t happy because I felt like they were trying to grow the company and they had a new person come in and it was like they weren’t getting what I was trying to say. It just seemed like I was repeating myself, but it was only a few weeks that happened. I was actually thinking about canceling my service with them but for some reason one of the owners reached out to me and apologized for the issues and they wanted another chance.
They gave me my previous month free and took care of me from then on. I thought that was great customer service. They had a problem and were able to resolve it without me even mentioning it to them. They approached me and took initiative. Sometimes in a business, there are bad seeds, but they handled the situation and I’m happy for it.

I like that they tell the price right off the bat and what they offer so I knew what to expect. A lot of companies in the industry are vague about it. It made it easier for me to go in and make a decision.

They’re just going through growing pains and trying to add more employees and more projects. Things I initially thought could be a problem, they’ve solved already.

The communication is flawless. We have no problems communicating with them about what we want or if there are any corrections to be made. It’s really hard to find teams that are highly responsive so their communication kills everything else.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They manage everything in-house for a set monthly fee. We get three tasks a month, and as one is completed they begin another. They always have three tasks going. Initially, they reoptimized and redesigned all of our emails. Once we completed that, they worked on notification emails. Now we're moving on to biweekly emails on a range of primary content.

I personally work with one person. I know there are more people behind the scenes who have full access to my accounts.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
There are mainly two ways. First, our emails are much more professional and premium. They did an excellent job improving and professionalizing our emails. Secondly, they freed up a lot of my time. I have to do nothing but approve the emails, they do everything.
How did FlowCandy perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a shared Google Drive and Calendar that we use to communicate. He'll send me final products as I send him suggestions, amendments, and more. Then when I approve it, we schedule it. It's a massive improvement. We have a super fluid relationship.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're incredibly professional and organized. I don't need to oversee the work, yet I know they'll deliver quality. It's very rare you don't need to chase down results.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They just improved in recording how everything is tracked. Sometimes emails get lost, so they use a platform to track everything so nothing gets lost.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They're email marketers. They don't know your business as well as you. Although they have great ideas, you need to come up with some yourself to give them a clear idea of what to do.

I need more time-at least 3 months to see how the flows are performing. My company is small so no real measurable data as yet.

Given that they are based all over the world, pretty good.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They are based all over the world and they really tried to understand my brand. They took chances with the "punny" nature of my products and wrote copy that was relevant and in most instances really catchy.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think the design work can be improved. It took about 2.5 weeks for us to nail the template in the first month which didn't leave us much time to complete the 3-5 flows that were scheduled for the first month.
You really can't subscribe for less than two months since there isn't enough time for them to design and then you to provide feedback then approve. I think maybe a different cost structure would work and make sense so you exactly what you will accomplish for the cost-rather than a range.
