I am an executive at an automotive company in Singapore.

For what projects/services did your company hire Elementals Studio?

We have an upcoming car launch. However, as the physical car would not be in the country for quite a while, we needed a way for our customers to “view” the vehicle.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to drive product awareness and lead generation.

How did you select this vendor?

Elementals Studio approached us during a tradeshow. We subsequently scheduled a meeting where they presented their credentials, and we shared our business challenge. They showed us some of their past work, and we were convinced they were the right partner to solve our problem.

Describe the project in detail.

After an agreement was reached to work together, we conversed via email to align things like the NDA, project requirements, and project cost. We decided on the specifications of an AR tool to help potential customers view and experience the vehicle. Within a month, we received the first draft of the model, which was about 90% to our liking. The changes required were more to do with the UI/UX, which were quick to change. Victor (Project Director, Elementals Studio) was also helpful in guiding us with the publishing of the mobile app.

What was the team composition?

Wilander (Business Development & Partnerships Lead, Elementals Studio) was our initial point of contact. However, after the agreement was made, Victor was our main point of contact. I am unsure of the size of the backend team. But Victor is very proficient in the overall process—even the technical aspect—and was able to answer all questions.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our sales team were able to engage their customers through this app, and we were able to get a few pre-bookings, even without seeing the actual physical car. We also have plans to utilize this for a social media contest to engage with our customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Victor was responsive and provided great recommendations. He would let us know when there was a new aspect that had been updated promptly. We had 2 phases to this project, and phase 1 was delivered about 1 week early from our agreed timeline, which was already quite tight.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Elementals Studio definitely knows mobile app development, user experience, and 3D modeling skills. Their responses were always timely, and you can tell that they have a passion for their work. It was a very positive experience working with them, and we are looking to collaborate again soon.

Are there any areas for improvement?

One thing that I think could enhance their service would be the addition of copywriting services. From a client's perspective, it would be more convenient, as UI/UX for mobile apps may not be familiar territory for traditional creative agencies, and thus are not equipped to craft communication from a more functional point of view.

For what projects/services did your company hire Elementals Studio, and what were your goals?

We wanted to create a multi-purpose customized tenant application for our users, with the goal of allowing our users to do everything through the app, such as booking of facilities, viewing & paying invoices, and remote door access control.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Vendor had a good track record of delivering successful customised web and mobile development projects, cost was lower than that of other competitiors.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We conducted a survey and shortlisted the features we wanted, before sharing with the internal stakeholders as well as with the vendor. After the cost and features were agreed upon, we shared with the vendor on our corporate colors and some design references. The vendor came back to us with the designs and we proceeded after selecting the most popular design.

The vendor split the project into different phases and milestones, and completed each phase on time. After the frontend and backend was complete, we did a UAT for a period of time and the vendor fixed bugs quickly when they were spotted. After notifying our users, we proceeded to roll out the mobile app.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Although this was an internal app only for our customers, we still had more than 200 active users on it. The vendor made additional enhancements after rollout based on user feedback, and now the app has features such as user promotions and passcodes for contingency door access.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Although there was a time zone difference, the project manager was prompt in responding to bugs that were spotted, and helpful in suggesting and implementing fixes to improve the app experience. We generally communicated via Slack, Emails & Zoom calls. Delays were communicated to me ahead of time as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Although there is only a small AR measurement feature in our app, they were able to create an immersive experience for our users to measure spaces and volume. Other customised features that we requested were also delivered as well, even though they were complicated.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As the project manager and other resources were based in a different part of the World, there is a time zone difference in scheduling of meetings. Would be good if they could be based in the same country as us for the project duration.

As a Technology Development Analyst, we aid with the design and prototyping process and to test these prototypes with users.

To test the feasibility (technical, business, and operational) of running such AR enhanced offerings to customers.

Through thorough research, evaluation of past use cases, and careful assessment of the shortlisted vendors.

Two augmented reality iOS apps, one for inflight menu and the other to enhance the desirability and add a layer of interactive and education for our plane models.

A project manager from KrisLab, the staff who submitter this idea, and 4 business users from the inflight services department and KrisShop.

Quality of the 3D renders was good.

Meetings were quick to set up, and deliverables were prompt and timely.
