We were seeing growth in a couple of our key accounts and required a partner agency to support with the extended paid social media and paid search work - both activation and optimisations.

We reached out to Conversion Science and arranged a few different calls to talk through the types of projects we were working on to understand their expertise and how they can support. We then agreed on a model that would suit both us and them.

We identified the key projects that we wanted support on and completed onboarding sessions for each client where we can provide full context - who they are, what they do, what their objectives are, what our role is etc. This helped when they got their teeth into the project and they were asking the exact right type of questions to delve deeper. We then set up weekly tasks for them to support us with and have regular touch points with them.

We have two key contacts we work with, both capable in search and social media platforms with another contact in case there is a pinch point in the volume of work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Through a set of proactive optimisations they completed for a key account across 180 campaigns we saw a severe reduction in cost per lead as well as increase in impression share.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have weekly task sheet online for them to support us with and this is covered off at a call at the start of the week to go through any questions. We then have an instant messaging group to keep the dialogue open and provide updates with progress. As the relationship is relatively fresh, we will have a touch point every few weeks to discuss how we can improve process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They can deliver work at a very high speed whilst ensuring that there are strong quality control touch points in place. We have very very rarely seen any form of human error so far, which is impressive considering how quickly they work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Whenever we identify an area for improvement (more on process), we will implement pretty quickly. The only potential consideration is to share platforms/software they use that we could consider for our campaigns & clients too.

We wanted a partner to help us with digital marketing. At the time, we had very limited experience running Google Ads campaigns.

Conversion Science manages our Google Ads, Google Shopping, YouTube Display Ads. They run our budgets and assisting with keyword analysis to competitor research.

Conversion Science was recommended by a company that did a lot of development work for us. We met with them and saw what they had to offer. It was an easy decision to decide to work with them.

We started working together 6–7 years ago, and our work is ongoing.

We’ve received a 10–15% revenue increase YoY, which is excellent. Currently, they help us maintain the business and clients that we have.

How did Conversion Science perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance has been excellent. Everything is laid out clearly, and resources are set out in a timely manner. Overall, they’ve been pretty successful. We communicate via email and phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For us, it comes down to the personal attention that we receive. In the past, we’ve worked with agencies that have made us feel like another account in their repertoire. With Conversion Science, we get a lot more personal attention. Conversion Science takes a lot of time to learn about our business and product. That’s one factor that really sets them apart. It’s been phenomenal.

No, I don’t think that anything could be improved. They always keep us abreast of what’s happening in the industry. There’s nothing

Be very clear about the objectives you want to achieve. Make sure you’re also transparent about how you operate within your business sphere.

Initially, we needed help with brand awareness and engagement, and now we needed help with acquisition marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Conversion Science manages all of our PPC activity, including our Google display ads and Facebook ad campaigns, and we review their statistics monthly. They also keep an eye out for any increase in activity on our Facebook page. Additionally, they conduct keyword research day in and day out to optimize our ranking. 

Conversion Science constantly provides us with advice. They give us weekly reports, deep insights into activity, and specific perspectives about conversion, audience, targeting, and more. They also provide great analysis about top-performing markets and affinity audiences. In addition, they conduct competitive research and competitor comparisons. We base a lot of our online campaigns on their advice. 

At the start of the engagement, we gave them a background of our company and provided a budget. From there, they formulated and suggested campaigns according to what we wanted to achieve.

We are working with four teammates. One of them is an account manager, who is our primary contact.

One of my colleagues had worked with them at a previous organization and had an excellent experience. Conversion Science was recommended to us based on their performance. 

How much have you invested with them?

We have a monthly budget that they manage for us, and we split it from an acquisition and management perspective. Our monthly Google spend is 70,000 rand (approximately $5,000 USD), and our Facebook budget is 15,000 rand (approximately $1,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2019, and it’s ongoing.

We grow from our PPC activity by at least 10%–15% per month.   

How did Conversion Science perform from a project management standpoint?

Conversion Science’s management of our Google and Facebook accounts are extraordinary. They’re incredibly detailed, proactive, and quick to point out any discrepancies or errors. If something’s happening, they’re the first to know and find a solution. They’re fantastic to work with. 

We correspond mainly by email, and we have a fortnightly meeting through Google Meets. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are impressed with Conversion Science’s commitment, proactivity, and understanding of the credit and lending industry. Additionally, their attention to detail and expertise sets them apart.

I can’t think of any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Spend time in the beginning explaining what the scenario and intention are, and make sure they understand the industry and audience. Once that foundation is laid, you’ll be able to develop a close working relationship with them with complete transparency. That’s been fundamental to the success of our partnership.

We need a company to be responsible for the management of pay per click campaigns for the website which include creation, targeting and optimisation of the campaigns as well as ad copy to increase revenue online.

Conversion science set up targeting on Google display and facebook and for each mini campaign that we had on the ecommerce store they would set it up on these two platforms and track activity and revenue. They also did continues remarketing and brand ads on Google and facebook.

We mainly worked with one employee who is a Campaign Manager | Account Manager and her assistant.

Our facebook revenue generated income in the ecommerce store increased since they took it over and we have seen steady numbers since then.

We communicate mostly via email but have virtual meetings every now and then. They are always relatively quick to respond to requests and keep to the timelines given.

They are a strong team with exceptional SEO and analytical skills. They can bounce ideas in the team to improve success rate.

More touch points to improve other areas of our digital footprint.

Conversion Science is constantly optimizing to get the cost per acquisition down. They’ve optimized the performance with the same cost up to 25%, so that would be a rough indicator of success I can mention — we are happy with their work. 

How did Conversion Science perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. They constantly update us, and we have follow-up meetings every two weeks — that works very well. As for project management tools, we mainly use Slack to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From my point of view, their knowledge and attentiveness stand out the most. They have a wealth of experience and are very mindful of any request we might have. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Maybe a more substantial second hand would be a good thing because now it's a sort of small team; they might do good making sure they don’t put all of their eggs in one box, just in case.

We went through an RFP to select the vendor. Criteria was to have a highly skilled vendor in Google big query, data science and familiar with the Google and Facebook APIs.

We first identified the flow of the data, where we spotted risks with custome personal information getting in to the hands of staff. We decided to automate this by using on Prem technologies as well as web based platforms.
