What challenge were you trying to address with Chicago Tech Solution?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we devised a plan to offer voluntary retirement for employees and passes to use for flights. We designed an application and website to accommodate all these changes and introduce a new pass to help book free tickets using a passcode after an employee's retirement. 

We hired Chicago Tech Solution to enhance our mobile app and web portal by adding new features.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app and web portal already existed, but Chicago Tech Solution added new features to accommodate the new pass. We shared the requirements of the project with them, and they used .NET and integrated it with TIBCO. The mobile app is available for both Android and iOS.

About 6–8 people were assigned to the project; our main point of contact was Chicago Tech Solution's director.

They were a referral from friends that had worked with them previously.  We also did a proof of concept (POC) and approved them for the project.

We worked together between March 2021–March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They met all our expectations and were able to deliver a good quality product.  Around 50% of our employees have started using the passes and can book tickets without issues. 

How did Chicago Tech Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a good experience working with Chicago Tech Solution; bugs were identified during the development and testing phase, but they were fixed before the release. For project management, they used Team Foundation Server tools and Jira for bug tracking. We typically communicated with Microsoft Teams and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team from Chicago Tech Solution was professional and had great communication. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wish they could expand their scope because they’re capable of taking on bigger clients.

I highly recommend them because they know the current tools and technologies for building websites and mobile applications.

Our daily inquiries and the number of people visiting our social media pages and website increased. We get telephone inquiries, and people start using our services.

Project management is good — I didn't have any high expectations with them, but they exceeded them at every step. They give us top priority to the client and take care of us properly.

Regarding communication, we use Google Meet, WhatsApp, and email.

They treat their client's business as their own; they're not money-making machines because they care about our business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — they follow all the latest trends in the market.

They know exactly how our entire company works, so it gives them a good perspective on what to do and what not to do. They’re able to target high-value clients who actually need our service so that’s been a huge benefit for us money-wise.

The quality of their work is great, and they go out of their way to deliver our needs.

I’m the owner of a retail and convenience store franchise. We’ve been running the store for around seven years, and we currently have five employees.

We didn’t have enough traffic to the store; many people stopped coming to our location since they could shop online. Moreover, we had to pay a good percentage of our sales to pick-up and delivery services, such as DoorDash.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chicago Tech has done marketing for us, such as fliers and Google Ads. They’ve also proposed campaigns to offer free items when people buy from us. The fliers we’ve created come with coupon codes, which give our customers discounts. For instance, if they purchase something worth $100, we give them $7 off. We may give free coffee for every $30 they spend in the store. 

For Google Ads campaign, we show up on the map as a 24-hour convenience store. People can see us online while walking at night and must go to a late-night store. Chicago Tech designs the ads and fliers. 

What is the team composition?

We work with two people from Chicago Tech. Aftab (General Manager) comes to our location occasionally. The other person gives updates and reports.

They were a referral from somebody we knew. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than $30,000, including the ad spend. The ads cost around $30–$35 per day, and they bill us monthly for that. The fliers are charged $8,000 upfront. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in April 2022, and it’s ongoing.

More customers are coming to our store, and we’re earning more than $3,000 per day. For context, we weren’t even making around $1,500 per day. As long as we see results like this, we’ll keep working with Chicago Tech.

Aftab is helpful and takes care of everything. To communicate, we mainly use phone calls.

They’re nice and give us ample time to work on our goals. Moreover, their work has truly made a difference in our business.

They’re great with meeting deadlines and staying on budget; they’re a responsive team, so I haven’t had any issues with them. Also, they know what they’re doing, so I don't have to tell them anything — I feel how they take care of me.

Chicago Tech Solution then created mock-ups and sent them to us for approval. After we gave them the go signal, they then proceeded to start designing and developing a WordPress site from scratch. They implemented functionalities that we lacked previously, including chat and contact management capabilities, to give our customers the optimal user experience.
