BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an associate program manager at AdventHealth, a nonprofit health organization.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
We needed help with mobile app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Camber Creative is helping us design and build an application from scratch. It's been a collaborative process between their team and ours to reach the final product.
Regarding functionalities, the app allows all of our leaders to progress through a program we have for them; they get an invite to the application, register for their own events through the app, and run through a series of questionnaires and surveys to review their leadership journey. They've also built two additional backend systems that enable us to manage the app's frontend and report data.
In addition, they provide helpful reporting, follow-up service calls, bug fixing, and continue adding additional features to the apps.
What is the team composition?
We've been working with 7–10 members of their team, including our project manager, one of their directors, and part-time developers.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
They worked with our company on different projects, and we reached out to them for this project because we couldn't cover the app's development with our internal resources.
How much money have you invested in this partnership?
So far, we've spent $100,000–$150,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve had about 4,700 leaders completing their program and around 6,320 leaders using the application.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been a great team to work with because they deliver on time, if not earlier. They’re also in constant communication with us, responsive, and go above and beyond to ensure everything’s going well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team is excellent in attention to detail and customer service — they want to ensure that they’re doing everything in the best way possible. They also focus on making the actionable items on our board proper to serve our needs adequately.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Earlier in the project, they lost some of their developers, so we had some delays during that period. Nonetheless, our project manager stepped in a did a lot of the pending work for us, and I couldn’t be happier with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be as involved in the process as possible to help them understand what you want and think through the different options to achieve it. Having weekly calls to review the process and see what’s functioning and what you’re doing next can help the partnership to have clear priorities.

Camber Creative has helped a hospital create a user-facing app and two administration apps for one of their leadership programs on Microsoft Power Apps, making changes to the product as needed.
The app developed by Camber Creative has had a positive impact on the client’s program, allowing them to increase its reach from 100 to around 6,000 participants. The team is proactive, communicative, and solutions-oriented, and they’ve demonstrated impressive responsiveness and availability.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a program coordinator at AdventHealth, a hospital operating in eight different regions. I work on the corporate side of our business, so I’m part of different programs for different levels of leadership. In my role, I support development projects, organize events, and ensure to provide seamless experiences to our hospital areas.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
One of the programs I work on is directed at people working at a supervisor level and above, and we needed help with developing an app for that program.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Camber Creative has helped us develop the app we needed. While going through the app development process, we realized that we needed two more apps, which they also helped us develop. All three apps have been done leveraging Microsoft Power Apps.
I joined the project when the major app was in the final development stages, and when I did, I noticed that the development process needed some changes. Thus, I first worked with one of my managers on changing the verbiage and organizing the development process. Then, I had Camber Creative change things to meet the different needs of our regions.
When the project expanded, we noticed that we needed more support on the development side. Thus, Camber Creative has also collaborated with a team of Microsoft developers to build the other two apps.
The main app is for the program participants, and the other two are backend apps that my manager, me, and a small team of around 16 people use to manage the main app. Among other features, these two apps help us manage attendance and track our events.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with Joe (Product Manager), who is also our main point of contact. We initially worked with a different person, but we slowly transitioned to Joe.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
The partnership started before I came on board, so I don’t know how we came to work with them.
How much have you invested with them?
The initial budget was around $500,000 for the entire project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with Camber Creative since around August 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our app has had a very positive impact on our program. We initially released our program for one of our hospitals with around 100 people. Now, this program has been released to around 6,000 people, thanks to the apps that Camber Creative has helped us develop. We wouldn’t be where we are now if it wasn't for them.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve had to navigate through project management challenges because we’ve changed various things along the way, including the budget. However, since we found our sweet spot, we’ve had a very consistent and great partnership with Camber Creative, and they’ve been able to support our project and its changes.
Moreover, Camber Creative is very proactive, and Joe has been amazing; we have nothing but good things to say about them. Whenever we have a request, Joe finds a way to make it happen. We meet every week to align on the project, and he always ensures to ask if there’s anything we need to change or adjust.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Camber Creative’s availability is impressive. Whenever we find bugs or have any troubleshooting needs, they’re a message away. Additionally, they offer very quick responses and turnaround times.
Even if they don’t solve problems immediately, I still get a response within a reasonable amount of time. I’ve never had to follow up on them or double-message them due to a lack of response because they’re always on top of their work, and they handle our needs very well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work with them; it’s worth it. They’ve gone above and beyond the line of duty for us.

Camber Creative developed a WordPress site for an employee wellbeing consultancy. They were tasked with integrating the client's new brand and setting up SEO and Google Ads into a six-page site.
Camber Creative delivered a scalable, easy-to-maintain site, which featured top-notch designs and functionalities. They led a collaborative workflow by communicating effectively via Slack and video calls. Their ability to articulate the client's vision and goals into a well-built site stood out.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the owner of an employee wellbeing consultancy.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Camber Creative, and what were your goals?
Our website and brand were created over ten years ago and had both become outdated. We hired the Camber Creative team to build a new WordPress site, implementing the new brand, look and feel created by our design agency. Our goal was to uplevel our digital image.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We researched online web developers through several platforms (as well as friends and networks), and ultimately shortlisted three. After interviewing everyone, we chose Camber Creative based on experience, track record, Clutch reviews and most importantly, Topher's ability to articulate the vision and goals we were trying to accomplish with the website, and collaborative path to getting there.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We launched the project with a key set of deliverables based on our goals, on a fairly short timeline, as we were focused on getting a brochure site up as soon as possible to get the new brand and company name out there.
Topher from Camber took the designs created in Figma and implemented a 6-page site, directly developing in WordPress using the Kadence theme, including a contact form, several plugins and a few sections of custom coding.
Later, he helped us install SEO, Google Analytics and other site management functionality. He was great about recording videos on Loom for things I needed to learn about updating pages on the site.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Topher acted as developer and project manager throughout the project, and there was another advanced developer who created some of the custom code snippets.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have had consistently positive feedback about the design and functionality of the website, and it's much easier for us to update and maintain.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Topher was great to work with and super responsive. We mostly collaborated on Slack, with a few emails, Google Hangouts and Zoom video calls.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were great at tailoring their development approach to our company's goals and size, in practical, agile and efficient ways while ensuring top-notch quality and performance. I've worked with many other developers over the years and there's often a tendency to fit the customer/project into a fixed process and/or requiring them to become a general contractor overseeing multiple consultants.
Camber is great because like an agency, they have experts in-house in all categories from design, engineering and implementation..however they operate more like a consultancy, putting the needs of the customer first. Refreshing.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Hard to think of anything.

The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
We provide industry leading benefits management and enrollment software to support employers, health plans, brokers, and other HR professionals. In my role as Web Development Manager, I oversee public facing web development projects across the company and manage internal and contractor supported development.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Camber Creative, and what were your goals?
Our corporate website was rearchitected to support a highly customizable, layout driven, page builder in Drupal that allows content managers to construct pages with various prebuilt content and functional components (blocks). Camber was hired to assist in building those components to expedite our delivery of the project.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I've worked with Camber in the past and have a long history with the company. I know first hand the level of quality and expertise that Camber provides and trust their output, candor, and recommendations.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We began with a discovery phase where we provided documentation and background on the various Drupal blocks we needed built. They included some integration of external video and content platform services, custom PHP and Javascript development, Twig templating, and SCSS styling.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with 1 project manager and 2 developers with Drupal, PHP, and Javascript backgrounds.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The layout builder approach has been a solid success. Our ability to build pages with 0 development or code deployments has increased our ability to respond quickly to stakeholder requests. The work provided by Camber was immediately valuable and used across every section of the website.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Camber provides a robust set of communication tools as well as integrating with our own tools when required. Most immediate communication happens over Slack with regular weekly standing status calls to stay organized and unified in the approach.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They have expertise across a wide range of technologies. The flexibility that Camber offers is outstanding. They will work with a company to fit into the project team, jumping right into established codebases, project cadences, or established SDLCs. Plus, they can take the reigns and guide a project from start to finish.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
A bit more time spend on requirements gathering and initial discovery may have avoided some post launch bugs, but given the expedited nature of the project, it was sort of expected. On the whole, we were quite pleased with the serviced provided by Camber.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of eDispatches. We provide emergency notification services to public safety, fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies. We’re able to capture their call data, either audio or through computer-aided dispatch, and send it to their mobile or wireless devices.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
We brought them on for assistance with some mobile app development and to redo our company website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We developed the app ourselves, however, it’s not our development team’s forte to make it look pretty. Using Camber Creative, they were able to take what we wanted to do and put it into a visually pleasing context. On the website side, our site was outdated and needed to be brought up to modern standards. Their team updated how we display what our company does in modern standards. It was built in a manner that allows us to do additional things in the future,
What is the team composition?
For the mobile app development project, we worked directly with Brice (Founder & CEO). For the website, we worked with Brice, Ryan (Director of Client Delivery & Operations), Topher (Senior Architect, WordPress), and Malcolm (Product Manager, WordPress).
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
Several years ago, we worked with a different company. At that time, Brice was with that company. Our team has had positive past experiences with him. We enjoyed working with him and picked up the current engagement with him and his company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement started around April 2019. They handle regular monthly maintenance on the website. In the event that we need to make an adjustment to our mobile app, we’d bring them into the mix.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were happy with the work they accomplished with the mobile app. They’ve been incredibly easy to work with. Their team has excellent communication skills. As they build out the project from start to finish with the different sprints, they keep us very much in the loop.
Our internal development team was involved with both the mobile app and website projects. At any point in time, if they had any questions for those of us over at sales and marketing, it was very easy to bring in our development team to communicate directly with Camber Creative. Because we have our in-house team, it’s key to get Camber Creative the answers they need so we can move the process along. When we can get highly technical people talking to highly technical people, things move at a good pace. We were never waiting on them.
Camber Creative’s work is very good. Their staff members are all very personable and have a can-do attitude. They may have suggestions on how to do certain things for the project, and we may not want to implement those suggestions. They’ve always handled that very well. Their team may provide guidance and sometimes, we accept their guidance. However, if we didn’t like their guidance, they dropped it and weren’t pushy to do it the way they wanted to do it. They’re very workable.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They use good management systems that are in-depth in tracking to the point where we can see where we are in the project on a timeline from start to finish. If we’re ever unclear, they communicate what needs to be done before they can advance to the next step. If anything, sometimes we held them back due to indecisiveness for a period of time.
Our teams communicate through Slack. Having a joint channel makes it very helpful for expeditious question-asking or problem-solving. They can just ask in the Slack channel instead of needing to hop on a phone call or write an email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed with their timeliness in completing project sprints and specific tasks.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As big of an advantage that Slack is, there are times when Slack messages come in slightly after business hours with bigger questions that I feel would’ve been better to explain in an email so it wouldn’t be missed. If we are not around the computer when a Slack message comes in, it’s not difficult to miss a message.
Ultimately, I told them that if they have a question that’s close to the end of the day or during after hours, maybe those questions should come in by email so they’re not missed. We don’t want to hold anyone up or miss a question. That only happened a couple of times and was corrected.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
After you have your initial meeting with Camber Creative, you’ll feel very comfortable with how they portray their company. They follow through with what they tell you in the introductory meetings. Camber Creative has top-notch employees and their work is high level. Most companies would enjoy working side by side with them on any project.

Camber Creative developed a web app and did user acceptance testing for a healthcare company’s customer. The web app interfaces with a pharmacy’s system to enable information sharing and order fulfillment.
Camber Creative delivered on the requirements and facilitated a strong working relationship, proving their status as one of the company’s preferred vendors. Accommodating and responsive, the team understood the end-customer’s needs. They demonstrated impressive technical and communication skills.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior project manager at a large healthcare system.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
We engaged with Camber Creative to help us with some of our website and application-building needs.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Camber Creative helped us build a web application for consumers, who are actually our own employees, to be able to do prescription refills with our in-house pharmacy. The app interfaces with and pulls information from the pharmacy system; for instance, the app can take orders and then send them into the system.
They were engaged in understanding the business needs and working with the other vendor to determine how to interface with the pharmacy platform. We’d actually been considering another tool, so they did a lot to see how we could work with that tool. They determined what the design would need to be and created mockups. They presented those mockups to our customer, the pharmacy, to approve whether the design and functionality were going in the right direction.
At some point, we decided that that tool wasn’t going to work, so we shifted to another one. Camber had to do some rework on the technical side to see how the tool would work. We went through a similar process, during which they built visual mockups and then got them approved. They worked in an agile fashion; they demoed as they built so that they could get approvals along the way.
Camber ultimately delivered the product and worked with us hand-in-hand in the user acceptance of that product. They helped resolve issues as they came up.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
Camber is a group that our organization has engaged with in the past. We probably had several open statements of work with them at the time of our project. When our internal digital team can’t accommodate work, they often recommend other internal groups to Camber.
What is the team composition?
Ricardo (Product Manager) was our project manager and scrum master. Then, we had two developers, including Kevin (Director of Engineering), who worked with us at different times throughout the project. Kevin was the lead, and he was excellent.
What is the status of this engagement?
Camber began working with my organization before I joined. I believe the project I was involved in began around June 2018, and we wrapped up toward the end of 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They worked in lockstep with us throughout the whole process, and they had a very clear understanding of what the customer wanted. Their developers and Ricardo had the right technical skills to confront the challenges we faced in working with two different tools. It can be challenging for vendors to get the information they need, work against timelines, and provide updates, but Camber did a great job of balancing all of that and eventually getting us to the solution. They were flexible to the constraints of the other vendors that we worked with. It was a very challenging project, but overall, it was a great experience, and we had an excellent working relationship with Camber.
Camber also made the user acceptance testing of the application easy. They provided all of the test scripts. The team was very accommodating, whether they were needed on-site to help the team understand how to do the testing or online to do web-based walk-through sessions. We communicated via a Microsoft Teams chat while we went through the testing cycles over several weeks. They had good response times and let us know what was going on at all times.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
Camber provided great resources for this project, particularly the project manager and scrum master. Ricardo was excellent in terms of being very open, approachable, and professional. He was very hands-on and involved with me on the project management side, but he also interacted seamlessly with our own customers.
They had communication accounts similar to our own employee accounts, so they were able to talk to us through our internal Microsoft Teams chat. It was seamless to reach out to them, even though they were an outside company.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The ease of being able to work with Ricardo throughout the process was impressive. We could communicate and get information easily. We merged our waterfall project management and their agile styles so that we could get the updates that we each needed as we went along. They acted as an extension of our team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No — I don’t think so. Things worked as smoothly as they could, given the challenges that we were dealing with. The project side was more responsive than the sales account side, but it wasn’t a bad experience.
Any advice for potential customers?
If they plan to work with Camber frequently, provide them access to your internal communication tools. In our case, they had access to our email and Microsoft Teams. That was helpful because it made them feel like an internal resource, as opposed to an outside vendor, and we didn’t have to adapt to their tools. They were very flexible in that sense.
As with anything else, make sure that your customer is highly engaged in the process. Keep those early planning documents and mockups to ensure you end up with what you want.

Camber Creative is designing and building an audio tours platform as an app for iOS. After thoroughly scoping the project, they created mockups and developed the consumer-facing side.
The consumer-facing side is in testing before Camber Creative will develop the backend. The team’s work has satisfied the client’s expectations so far. Their enthusiasm combined with their thorough planning processes and ability to easily grasp the client’s vision makes for a smooth project.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Go Vonder, LLC. We offer a platform for tour guides and area experts to create and distribute audio tours.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
I needed everything on the coding and technical side of app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I needed to create a lot of moving parts of the app, from the interface to the commerce side to content management to audio and visuals management. The app also had to stream in a dynamic format.
We initially hired Camber Creative to map out what we were looking at doing. They studied every button to determine what would be required to achieve it, make sure it could be done. After that, we contracted them for development and design.
The app is currently on iOS but will go on other platforms in the future. I gave Camber Creative a clear idea of what I was looking for, and they came back with mockups, looks and feels, and screenshots. It’s a very collaborative process.
What is the team composition?
I’ve consistently worked with three people. Brice (Founder & CEO) oversees everything while Ricky (Ricardo, Product Manager) does in-depth coding. A couple of others play specific roles in the concept and design.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
I connected with Brice through a mutual connection. He was one of the first people to fully understand what we were looking to achieve and what challenges we were facing. From there, it felt like a natural fit.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $15,000–$20,000 at this point.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just finished phase one on the consumer side. It’s in testing before we do the backside of the app. The project has been well-planned and well-structured. Camber Creative is easy to communicate with. They seem as invested in our project as they were when we first began the project.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
I have no complaints. Everything is structured and efficient.
What did you find most impressive about them?
All the right players were in the conversation early on. That let us see what was possible and to get constructive feedback on our ideas.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I’m really pleased. They were ready to go from the beginning.
Any advice for potential customers?
Engage them on the purely planning side first. We went through the entire concept and what it would take. I found it worth that upfront money to avoid pitfalls and to learn their team.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
AdventHealth is a healthcare organization, and I’m the director of enterprise development.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
We do a lot of different work with them including PHP web development, SharePoint development, mobile app development, and a Microsoft Power app.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
For the web development, we had them help us with a web portal for physician access. Users needed to be able to access clinical applications and reference material. Basically, they had to be able to remotely access their patient data and other types of applications. The system has two-factor authentication and single sign-on.
For the SharePoint development, we had to connect our information to our mobile app. Lists and pages on SharePoint now feed into the mobile app. The app itself is for all employees in a healthcare company. Using it, you can access PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, and communication.
PowerApps is a Microsoft platform that’s becoming very popular, and we wanted to get ready to use them. They helped us get ready to build our environment; we’ve developed ten Power apps with them, and they’ve become critical to our company’s COVID-19 response. These applications are available on mobile, tablet, and desktop. We created the user stories, UX, and UI for these apps and they executed. They also participated in the designing of other Power apps, however. Their involvement changes depending on the case.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with over seven people to date. At any time, it’s between 5-7 people.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
Our respective leaderships had a professional connection.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $200,000–$250,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since January 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We just rolled out a talent-match application that allows employees to leverage themselves. Basically, you can apply to work hours because your department might be closed at this time. It’s only been out for one week but already we’ve had over 100 employees register and no tickets.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
It’s been a learning experience for both of us. Camber is the first contractor I used, but we’ve grown to work better together. Now, we have a Scrum master and that’s created a much better experience.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The number one thing is that they’ve found really highly talented people and made them part of their core team. Those folks have helped us tremendously, and they have phenomenal expertise.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The one constructive piece is project estimation and managing scope creep, which we’re always working on. Every business and project has those challenges, so I wouldn’t say it’s a negative for Camber but it would help if they offered us a highly tuned project estimation process.

Camber Creative operates as a long-term design partner for a wedding and lifestyle website, sometimes refreshing existing designs and other times contributing from ideation through execution.
The team has been able to deliver images that elevate the visual impact of the brand without deviating from the guidelines and requirements. They’re able to use their expertise to provide suggestions to make the client’s content more effective. Overall, their work has yielded a high ROI.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a wedding and lifestyle site that publishes content relating to beautiful homes and events specifically relating to weddings. The site has been up and running since 2007 and has collected a few million images and about 30,000 posts. There’s a relatively large corpus of content there.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Camber Creative?
We’ve used them for several different projects. Oftentimes, they support everything from design to project management to development for new products we’re trying to push out the door. Because we’ve been happy, we continue to use them. We started them off on smaller projects and slowly moved them on to larger ones.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They start with a sprint zero, which involves customer discovery, consumer interviews, and fleshing out general plans for the project. From there, they create thoughtful designs specific to our needs. Sometimes, we have existing art and content on the site that needs to be refreshed. Other times, our team only has a concept. When that’s the case, they talk with potential uses, figure out wireframes, and build high-fidelity mockups.
There’s also a technical piece to their work with us. In the past, they’ve helped us refactor our CI/CD pipelines and set up our Jenkins Pipeline on AWS. We really use them across all of the technical parts of the businesses.
What is the team composition?
Depending on the scope of the work, we either work with two or four of their teammates. If a project is technical, we collaborate with a project manager, designer, and two developers. When there aren’t technical aspects to the work, we’re paired with a designer and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Camber Creative?
They were recommended to me by someone I respect. I saw their designs on one of his projects and thought they were great. He enjoyed working with them, so I reached out and ended up hiring them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $100,000–$250,000 on their services to this point.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in July 2018, our teams still collaborate.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The UX designs are thought-through and well-reasoned. Their designs have been amazing and have done a tremendous job of understanding our brand. Through that understanding, they’re able to elevate and evolve our designs just enough to be refreshing, but not so much that they go against our branding requirements.
They’re the most effective when the stakes are highest or when I need a job done pretty quickly. Additionally, the ROI has consistently been great. That’s partially due to their willingness to tackle new problems with me. For instance, when we were considering the benefit of mobile compatibility, they did a ton of research into our website to discover what our users cared about. In the end, they were able to tell us what pages were and weren’t worth optimizing for mobile.
How did Camber Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly calls that serve as progress updates. They’re an agile team, so they like to use burn down charts to indicate how much work is left to be done. There’s some overlap with in-house project management, so the focus is on them to allocate the right resources to benefit the effort and then tracking them to make sure they’re performing up to standard. In the beginning stages, we rely on them for product management. After things start moving, product management bleeds into project management as we decide what we’re going to build.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It is very difficult to find trustworthy partners for UX design. They proved that they can produce something that aligns with our brand, resonates with our customers, and is generally optimal. I haven’t found another team that can deliver quite like them on the design side.
Additionally, they’re great with resource allocation. They have a loose set of skilled developers working in the United States. It’s a cost-effective network I can trust. Camber Creative can match our needs to a developer effectively and in a timely fashion.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing immediately comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice depends on where you are in your project’s ideation. If you’re unsure of what you want to build, let their team play around with the design. They’re very talented and will try to bring back ideas that will inform your thinking as you move forward. Giving them a few degrees of freedom to play is a really good start.
They’re also very successful with a more fleshed-out product. When you’re defining your budget and needs, trust them to pull the right resources to help you. If I were new to working with them, those are the two areas I’d focus on.
