Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the owner of Slaughter Supply LLC. We are a distributor of mortuary and funeral products, and we started around 2015–2016. We distribute the majority of our products in the US for the mortuary imperial markets with large equipment that goes in those facilities, including things like coolers, tables, and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brian Burfield - E-Commerce SEO & Marketing?

We were a new company and we needed to get some optimization on our site. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Brian (Owner) for his SEO skills because we didn’t want to just continually bury money into paid search. Moreover, we also wanted to develop organic search traffic to get more visibility for the website and our products. 

What is the team composition?

We only worked with Brian. I don’t know all the inner workings of his work, but he may have brought some independent people to help on the project. 

How did you come to work with Brian Burfield - E-Commerce SEO & Marketing?

We did some extensive searching and we interviewed around 5–6 agencies. What really stuck with Brian was that he was already doing on his own site what we wanted for him to do — increase our organic search. We also compared him to other agencies and saw the value that he could bring to us. His quote was also much better than the other agencies that we looked at. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2019–March 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

He was excellent in the technical SEO, on-page SEO, and full SEO for the site. He was able to grow our organic traffic — it was over 40% of our search volume compared to page search. They were also able to reduce our paid search amount while increasing our organic search. In addition, our organic search made our conversation rates better. Overall, we hit the targets that we wanted, and we’re working with them on a separate project for a different company. 

Other than those above, it was a little hard to gauge their impact because of the recent events. We did not anticipate the pandemic, but in the last 2020, our business growth was in triple-digit percentages. 

How did Brian Burfield - E-Commerce SEO & Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

He was fantastic to work with. Additionally, he was a really great guy and our communication was perfect. He got back to us immediately and he was able to put in 400% effort on this project.  Above all, he was dedicated. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Brian’s knowledge and expertise were really fantastic, especially in how quickly he was able to increase our organic search volume. His overall performance was impressive. I understand the SEO side could be a challenge and that’s why I shared the work that Brian does with my colleagues who are experts in their fields. In connection with that, they all had the same message — Brian knew what he was doing. I recommended him to my colleagues and I look forward to working with him on more projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

With the work that he had done for us, I don’t think he could really improve there. He was already perfect, but maybe he could expand his business and probably charge people more.
