As a face-to-face training provider to businesses our business had been massively disadvantaged by Covid and the work from home narrative. As we came out of Covid we decided to engage with Bind Media as part of our recovery plan. During the oroginal scoping session with Bind's team I explained our previous ROI from AdWord campaigns. I laid out my ROI goals and expectations. 

I laid out a goal that we had to win £3 for every £1 spent on AdWords. To date and four years later we are at nearly treble this at just short of £9 for every £1 spent and this is contuing to grow. 

I had always been anti "landing pages" for the AdWords and wanted our perspective clients to land on our standard website. During 2023, Bind Media approached me again with a business case for creating landing pages for our Ads. After working with them for 2 years I had built up trust in them and their teams that I decided to go ahead and embark on a landing page project. My sole instruction was "make sure the leads increase".

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There are various measureables that we look at in our monthly account meetings. As well as the usual spend and number of enquiries we'll look at which campaings are working well, where improvements can be made. What our costs per click, conversion rates, cost per acquisitions are. 

I have a very open working relationship with our account manager Will. I will feed back to Will what and where my team are converting. We're open with our ROI and this allows Will to make informed decisions and recomendations. 

We originally set out requiring a £3 ROI for every £1 spent. We are now at nearly £9 and this continues to grow. Bind have become an integral part of our sales process.

The projects that we have engaged with Bind have always been delivered on time and well managed. It is clear from the scoping sessions at the starrt of the projects who from Bind is working on what aspect of the project, and who is overseeing. The communication during the projects has always been superb and I have always been kept in the loop and consulted with along the way.

I have found that every member of the Bind Media's team that we have ever engaged with has been very good. I have found the way that their team have got to know me and my business and really understand what we are about. It feels like they are invested in how we do and really do care. So many service providers are happy to take your money and deliver an ok service. I've never felt this way with Bind, From day 1 its always felt that everyone wants to deliver a great service not only for Bind but also for us. This you can see is being led from the top and is cascaded out to all employees. 

What is impressive, is the way that they approach me about ways we could be proactive and new things we could try as a business.

Not that I can think of. As mentioned they have become a vital cog in our sales process.

The first task we gave to bind was to reorganise our entire Google Ads campaign structure, moving away from a one-size-fits-all campaign into a structure where we could focus on products and ranges. This included and enabled us to achieve the following criteria:

• Increasing ROAS
• Achieving consistent ROAS
• Better seasonal advertising
• Prioritising spend on best performing products
• Reducing wasted spend

Following the success of our Google Ads, we tasked Bind with doing the same with our Amazon Ads account, which had been primarily running from one campaign. This campaign had been achieving an incredible ROAS, but throttled a lot of our products, which meant they had low sales volume and were not fulfilling their potential. 

Moving on from that, we then gave Bind our social media advertising account, with the goal of achieving better consistency in terms of our ROAS and driving more revenue to our site through social media as opposed to just sending traffic to our site. Here our general targets were:

• Increase ROAS
• Achieve a consistent ROAS
• Improve revenue via social media
• Grow our social media audience.

Bind have achieved all targets we set for them and continue to deliver as we change our business strategies and demands. As a general overview they met the following metrics:

Bind have always been able to manage whatever workload we have given them. As time has gone on, the scope of the project has grown substantially and the additional work we have given them has never been a problem. Scoping has always been carried out with relevant stakeholders and tasks have been split among various individuals then collated together by the account manager. Meetings have been regular and include regular face-to-face remote meetings, emails, calls and slack messages. Response times have been very quick, generally just a few minutes when needed. We have never been left waiting with any questions or issues left unanswered. All problems (though very rare) have been addressed immediately and primarily caused through 3rd party system errors on our side than human errors on the side of Bind.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Great account managers. We have only had one account manager, but we have come into contact with other members of the team with additional projects we have given to Bind. They have a very knowledgeable, helpful team, all of whom have delivered in terms of outcomes and deadlines. Having had just the one account manager has been especially helpful to us as he has developed a really strong understanding of our business and requirements, which reflects in the outcomes delivered; working with larger organisations can have its merits, but the constant switching of account managers can really cause a slump in performance – which is not an issue with Bind’s approach to account management. In addition, Bind don’t have “account managers” like a lot of companies. The person you talk to is the person that does the work. This makes the process ultra efficient. There is no third hand information. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Bind Media could have done differently?

In all honesty, no, there is nothing Bind could have done to improve the level of service we have had. We constantly evaluate all of our suppliers and the one organisation that is head and shoulders above our other suppliers is Bind. They consistently deliver what we require. In my mind, there is no reason to change. The only time this would ever be a consideration is if our account manager changed.

Additionally, on a personal note, the only wish I have is that Bind Media were an international brand. Their exceptional service and expertise make them an ideal partner, and I would readily utilize their services in other markets if the opportunity arose.

Originally, Bind were hired to manage our Google Ads account, which was underperforming and disorganised. They completely reorganised our account to maximise control over our spend, which gave us the opportunity to focus on different product ranges when needed, among other things. In addition to making our account more manageable, this approach also helped deliver our target ROAS of 7+ on Google Ads, up from 4.5. Such was the improvement, we moved our Amazon ads account, then our paid social media account over to Bind and have tasked them with several additional projects including our GA4 implementation, feed optimisation and soon we will be looking at a CRO project with our newly launched website.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

With each project there has been a different metric to measure success. Our PPC strategy has involved several different measurables over the year, ranging from a basic ROAS strategy to KPI’s including CPA, Revenue and AOV. We have also run brand awareness campaigns, measuring these based on impressions, clicks and CPC. Our social strategies have measured performance based on likes, impressions, interactions and web traffic – in addition to ROAS and conversions. Across the board, Bind media have always delivered on the targets we have set, no matter what they are.

Project management with Bind has always been very professional, often involving scoping exercises looping in the most experienced members of their team in addition to the account manager who will handle the day-to-day running of the project. Having direct contact with experts throughout the project is extremely helpful and enables tasks to be accelerated. Also, my experience of staff within Bind is that they are all very communicative and able to put across complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand – which is testament to the way they select their staff, understanding that it’s very important to be able to work with clients and have the ability to listen, understand and respond. In terms of time, Bind have never failed to hit a deadline – and where we might be less responsive and delaying the project, they have always had the professionalism to prompt us to respond rather than allowing the project to fall behind schedule; this is another fairly unique quality for an agency and one I really appreciate as I work in a very busy environment, balancing multiple projects, meaning it’s easy to fall behind on deadlines.

Other than the quality of the team Bind has assembled, the most impressive and unique feature of Bind is the philosophy that sold us in the first place – Bind really do buy into your company and quickly formed an understanding of what we are about in terms of our product range and our company culture. In practice, this has meant that Bind has become an extension of our team, making it really to work with them and include them in additional projects. They are intrinsic to our online marketing strategy.

All areas of our experience with Bind have fit in with our workflow effortlessly. I can’t see any real areas of improvement that need to be undertaken. My only worry is as Bind continue to expand, will we continue to receive this level of service and have direct contact with all of the key areas of the business we have right now. I hope so.
