I'm the CEO of a company that provides safety technology and software for the aviation industry.

We needed support from an external firm to develop mobile and web applications.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Axel has built two Android and iOS applications, two web apps, a website, and an app for tablet and iPad devices. We initially hired the team to build an Android app and decided to continue working with them on the other projects after completing the first app. One of our mobile apps is a digital record-keeping for jet fuel QC.

Throughout our engagement, we've worked with over 10 teammates from Axel, including Phil (CEO), UI/UX designers, Android developers, iOS developers, front- and backend engineers, and QA specialists.

We found Axel on Upwork and chose them because they had very good reviews for Android app development.

We started working with Axel in January 2022 and have an ongoing relationship.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've commercialized all the mobile and web applications developed by Axel. The team has delivered functional apps we can sell as products in the marketplace. 

How did Axel perform from a project management standpoint?

Axel has delivered each project on time and within budget. If a project expanded from its original scope, Axel was very clear about why the project had grown and what it meant in terms of budget. We communicate via Slack, Zoom, and in-person meetings from time to time and collaborate via Trello.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to shout out Phil's work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Axel's work quality is extremely superior to other service providers I've worked with. If a client is looking to hire a software development firm and is serious about creating a new piece of software or mobile app, I don't think there's a better company than Axel.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Axel can improve. The team has done a great job, and I don't have any complaints. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest providing Axel with as much industry context as possible. The team has operational and deep thinkers about how things should work from a technological perspective. The more context a client can provide to Axel, the better their software will work in ways they hadn't thought of themselves.

This project involved building a new app from the ground up for IoT devices for both android and iOS, along with developing firmware for IoT devices to connect to the app. In addition, building out a website with custom formatting and features on Bigcommerce.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our new app is up and running with hundreds and soon thousands of devices successfully connected. The ecommerce website looks amazing and functions perfectly. Axelhub helped every step of the way when invetible software bugs popped up- they were always quick to fix and mindful of adding quality of life features along the way.

Phil is always available and very good and communicating our needs with his team. Whenever I have a question he is fast to come up with a solution, and explaination of what is involved to accomplish our goals. The timeline to launch was pretty close to the initial schedule, and any delay was mostly on our side.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The breadth of knowledge the team has- they can do anything from site design, app design for both iOS and android, and firmware, along with firmware tools a non-engineer like myself can use to flash circuit boards. They are very helpful and meet with me when needed to ensure everything runs smoothly. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Axel could have done differently?

I don't really have any complaints here. Axel will fix issues that are out of our control- like app bugs- quickly and without extra fees to do so. Phil is a perfectionist. If he says can do it, and quotes us to build it- you can expect it to work flawlessly.

• I only have one other company to compare them to gauge improvements and although the other company used all the cool project management tools and made me feel like they were doing work in our meetings, they could not complete things the way Axel has.

I have Axel the physical game and they broke it up into milestones and costs. They set three milestones of three months each. First was the design look and interface, second the game play, and third different game modes.

If you have high-level app needs, you will be thrilled with Phil and his team at Axel Hub. After horrendous (including fraudulent) experiences over many years with app developers, I found Phil for Sark Word Game. Our success is due to him and Axel Hub. Imagine: cost-effective (not cheap but you get what you pay for and worth every penny), timely, accurate, very responsive, beautiful design, incredible UX, and--yes!--more. 

Other developers see the game, go wide-eyed and ask who our developers are. No sales-project manager word salads. Yes, you read right--when I hear corporatespeak I go blank. None from Phil. CEO Phil is your contact! Direct, clear, no jargon, always available. And funny lol. I'm happy to share my ongoing experiences with you. We are developing more Sark apps together

Participants frequently use the digital resources and progress tracker, which has enhanced their training experience. On our side, the streamlined application process has reduced administrative overhead, letting us focus on direct client support.
