I’m the senior marketing manager at an industrial EPC company. We do engineering and construction for the energy and chemical industries, such as plants, refineries, and oil and gas. Right now, most of our work is along the Houston ship channel.

What challenge were you trying to address with Adhere Creative?

My company was designing a new website, and we were looking to create two videos to put on the homepage of our new site. We wanted the videos to reach our target market, which is owner-operators of chemical plants, energy companies, and midstream companies.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adhere Creative created a three-minute overview video for marketing purposes. They also created a 30-second B-roll video to be our home page banner on the website.

We had a meeting to discuss our strategy and goals, and they gave us feedback on what they thought would look good. Then, we set up a shot list and questions for the interviewees in the video. Adhere Creative’s team came out, and we had a full day of production. They interviewed people, took video of different shots within our office building, and went to our shop and took video of our employees welding, cutting, and doing other work. They also did drone footage of our new shop, both inside and out.

They sent us three versions, and we got our final video that’ll be on the website. They’re currently working on doing an extra mini drone shot video.

What is the team composition?

I didn’t ever actually see anyone, but I talked to two people. I wasn’t there on the day of shooting, but I believe there were 3–4 people.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

I found them through Google when we were looking for our website redesign vendor. They were one of the three companies in our final interview process; we ended up going with another company, but I really liked their creative and the videos that they had.

When we did this project, we just bid out to Adhere Creative and one other company, because it was a short turnaround. I worked with Daniel (Director of New Business) and got a quote from Adhere that included all of the footage that we wanted, so we chose them.

Our total was about $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together started at the end of June. Production was at the beginning of July, and then they did revisions through the month. We just got the finished product at the end of last week.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work is great. They didn’t just give us exactly what we wanted; although I’m a marketing person, we’re not graphic designers or video production people, so they were very honest about what they thought would look good, be the best value, and capture our audience. I really appreciated their honest feedback and the creative process they took.

We’re in a weird time due to COVID-19, and they were very accommodating of our site requirements, such as wearing masks. We also had a lot of changes and had to do a reshoot, but they were still very understanding. They didn’t nickel and dime us, and it all came together.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

I wish the communication had been slightly more detailed, but I’m very particular. Overall, I knew what was going on with the project at any time. They met the deadlines that we gave them. We even had extra work, and then my boss went on vacation in the middle of it, so they met the deadlines that they could. They handled everything. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We worked with one other video company in the past, and the value that we got from Adhere was so great. We essentially got three mini videos. They’re accommodating of their clients. Also, their ideas aren’t just cookie-cutter. They even talked to me about potential future projects, so they just always have ideas. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve given more frequent updates, but that’s more personal. It’s hard to say with the timeline because we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and we did what we could. Everything was great.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be open to listening to their thoughts and ideas. You’re hiring a creative team for a reason; if you were creative and had experience, you’d do it yourself. Trust their process and what they say. We went in with a completely different idea of what we wanted, and that transformed into a video that is much better.

Have an idea of what you want, but stay open and give as much detail as you can to help them plan. I tried to give them my company’s backstory because they couldn’t do a site visit before the shoot.

I work for Allied Reliability, and we provide services to companies with large assets and equipment. That usually consists of oil and gas, chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, etc. and I am the marketing specialist with the company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company doesn’t have an internal marketing team, so I coordinate with them to facilitate the projects that we have lined up. We originally brought them on to assist with a website redesign, which included giving a facelift to our branding, creating a better UI, and designing some of our site’s pages from scratch. Because that went so well they sort of expanded into running our ad campaigns, creating content for our social media, and filming video testimonials as well.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people in total­—I’ve had two project managers, one of whom received a promotion but with whom I actually still keep in touch. Amanda is my account manager now and she’s great, and I work with Ashley and Erica from time to time as well just to make sure everything is still on track.

I was looking for companies with Houston that were also HubSpot partners. I came across their work, looked around a little bit to see if it was authentic, and then just decided to engage with them from there.

We’ve invested over $150,000 with them between the videos, the website redesign, and the separate marketing campaigns.

We started working with them in December 2018 and are continuing to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we’re in a rebuilding phase for a lot of the projects that we’re working on, we haven’t gotten too many measurable aspects of the work, such as seeing direct increases in business. As far as how everything is beginning to look and feel, however, our branding is coming together, and our company is now more cohesively presented to the outside world than it was before. Everyone is pretty pleased with the optics and the direction the business is going.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

We work well from a project management standpoint. They make sure we stay on time, and that everything is continually being worked on. The communication is what helps. I have weekly calls with Amanda and basically go through what’s going to be done and what we need to follow up on in order to keep the project moving smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would say the thing that stood out the most for me is that they’re able to really understand our business. The company I work for has a very complex business structure and there are a lot of moving parts, but they’ve been able to understand who we are as an organization anyway. It’s almost like working with an internal team because of how well they’re able to deliver content pieces that are reflective of our organization without us having to give much input or go through much back and forth at all.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything has gone well with them so far.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I think the thing that helps us the most is that our relationship is well-organized from both sides, so I would just encourage anyone to make sure you can track all the moving parts of your project and keep everything moving.

I’m the operations/general manager for Bayou City Steam Cleaning, a steam cleaning company. We clean any water-soluble fabric that’s attached to a piece of wood or glued down to your floor, any floor covering, any wall-to-wall carpet, any stone, any tile, and any upholstered piece, from a headboard to a sofa sectional.

What challenge were you trying to address with Adhere Creative?

We weren’t getting any sales calls. We were doing commercial cold calling for maintenance cleaning ahead of time, and I didn’t get a single person to call me back. We are one of over 200 carpet cleaners in Houston and we are brand new. There were plenty that should have been first choices before us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built our original website and our entire web presence from scratch. Though we decided on the basics, they built everything, including our Facebook page. Part of that was creating our Facebook brand identity. Currently, they’re doing paid Facebook and Google Ads, as well as some content management.

Their newest project is a video testimonial for a church client of ours. The client loved working with the filmmaker that came and some of the editors. I wasn’t really involved, other than just doing my work for that day they were there. The Adhere Creative team were the ones interfacing with my clients.

What is the team composition?

I have one or two points of contact. Nathan (President, Adhere Creative) is a lead contact. We’re at the point where I can text or email if I need something. There’s been 4–9 different people working on the project, but I’ve dealt with 2–3 people at the most at one time.

I did a Google search for someone local; we’re just down the street from where they are. Six companies bid on the initial deal, but we sat down and talked about what we wanted, and Adhere Creative sold me. We didn’t go to a bid when we moved onto video production because we loved Adhere and wanted to continue using them.

We’ve spent $25,000–$50,000 so far.

We started working together in September 2016, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They are the only reason we’re in business. The traffic that I get on the website and the qualified leads that come in are because of them. The website has never gone down, and I’ve never had someone tell me a form doesn’t work.

As we grow our company, they help us build out our website to where it’s not too convoluted. I don’t like to give my clients tons of choices because they don’t even know what they’re choosing. Adhere makes sure there are only a few options on our website, even though we provide so many options. The website is user-friendly, which helps the elderly people booking appointments with me online. My client absolutely loved them during the video shoot, as well.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communication has always been friendly. We communicate via email or text because that’s all I want to use. I don’t know if they use anything else.

I went in there knowing who I was going to talk to and knowing what we were researching. I saw the changes and results almost immediately. They’re proactive, too. Some of the legwork will be done before we talk about moving forward with this stuff, which is nice.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are one of the higher end carpet cleaners. We don’t do $20,000 carpet cleaning jobs, but the people who do hire us are in $20 million homes. It’s very important that I can have somebody go into a client’s office building without any question that they might mess up my contract.

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

We were looking for an agency that could help create a corporate video for the company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with a kickoff meeting, where we presented our idea and potential challenges. Since we didn’t have b-roll or other assets for them, Adhere Creative started from scratch to create the corporate video we have today. Using their past experiences with other customers, they helped keep everything we wanted for the video within our budget.

After the kickoff meeting, we mainly had communication with Nathan (CEO, Adhere Creative) and Bobby (Head of Video Production, Adhere Creative). They managed the entire team who worked on the video.

This was the first time our company has created a video of this scale. Our director searched for agencies that specialized in video production. We’re happy with the results. The video was used for a particular project and received an excellent response from the audience.

It was a pleasure to work with Adhere Creative. Their project management style was effective with prompt communication. They quickly got back and addressed expectations. If their team is at a shoot, or in the field, or even at another office, they’ll do the best that they can to give any requested information in a timely manner. Adhere Creative sets realistic expectations that take their entire workload into account. They were committed to their set timeline.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Through our experience working with Adhere Creative, I appreciated the way that their team follows up. They communicated important information on time and managed our expectations in a great way.

No. This experience, from beginning to end, went very well. On our end, it sometimes took a bit longer to complete tasks because of internal approval. Other than that, the project was smooth. There’s nothing that we could suggest as an area for improvement.

I’m the CEO of Endium, a Salesforce implementation partner based in Houston.

What challenge were you trying to address with Adhere Creative?

We’ve been with Adhere since we started our company. We needed a website, a domain, email, social media, and campaigns. Then, we needed guidance on how to market our services both locally and nationally. For this project, we hired them to revamp and create content for our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They suggested a new site design to make it feel more modern. Our website always looks better than our competitors’, so we engage them every few years to maintain that. Since so many of our customers are referrals seeking evidence of our work, they persuaded me to add testimonial videos of satisfied customers.

Together, we ideated questions that would let customers tell their story. Then, they interviewed everybody and shot a lot of B-roll. Even though our customers expected having to film all day, the videos were shot within an hour. It was a very client-centric video that focused on the customer’s obstacles and successes.

They embedded the completed videos into our site. They have a proprietary template system that they’ve designed, and we’re very happy to let them test their newest functions on us.

Our prospects have commented on how smoothly they can navigate our website. It’s very easy to find the specific services that we offer, and what those processes look like. Our customers have said that they love the site as well as the new videos. The videos that the team created were just phenomenal—they really captured the spirit of the company and the hearts of everybody involved.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They were communicative and super responsive, so the whole thing was very easy. They’d give us an update about twice a week, and everything would go through our project manager. They were extremely accommodating of my preferred way of communication, which is Slack or by phone call. Sometimes they’d even pull an all-nighter to put all their completed work together, which we really appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The difference between Adhere Creative and other agencies is that their goal is to help you nurture your existing customers and prospects. They don’t just walk away after building your website, but they actually focus on helping your business grow. For the price you pay, they provide incredible value for your money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. We have a fantastic relationship.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They do everything they can to take care of the customer, so you just have to trust them. I never want 17 iterations or 15 shades of blue. Trust them to know what will be good for you since they know exactly what to deliver.

We're an exterior contracting company that services Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. I'm the marketing director.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adhere does all of our SEO strategy. They run our PPC campaign, our website design, and our email marketing. They’ve helped us with Salesforce integration. They manage our social media accounts. They make sure that we’re up-to-date with new releases from HubSpot, Salesforce, and all that.

Beyond that they work on a lot of unique projects with us. One is a proprietary magazine that they created for us, both digitally and for print. We've worked very closely together on a number of different things. We consider Adhere an employee of ours, a part of our team, because of how closely we communicate with them.

What is the team composition?

I have worked with about 4-5 people at Adhere, all in different departments. I also have a dedicated account rep.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

I believe my predecessor had done some research online, located Adhere as one of the top HubSpot partner agencies, and compared them with a number of other companies. Adhere has flown out to meet with us in our office in Virginia a couple of times since I've been here. I imagine that they did that in the beginning as well just to make sure everything was a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We currently do about $120,000 a year in investment including our PPC spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

It's close to six years since we started working together. Work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I did a few preliminary numbers on this at the end of our year. Compared to our other top marketing lead force providers, Adhere was the top performer for bringing new leads and new clients on. Last year we had over 1000 leads that came directly from their SEO and PPC efforts. Of that, we've had about 670 new leads and the other third has been referrals and repeat customers. Our conversion rates with them have ranged from 23%, which is amazing, to around 14%, which it is now. We've been very happy with conversions and new leads. I'd say they've done a spectacular job. Again, their the number one provider for our leads right now.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

I communicate with them almost every single day but at least four times a week or so. They're very easy to reach out to. I don't have to just talk to our rep. If I have a question about Salesforce or about graphic design, all members of their team have always been very open. They offer suggestions but don’t push us. They feel like part of our family at this point, where we treat them just like I would any other colleague.

We use Basecamp to make sure that we keep up with different projects. They’re very good about sticking to deadlines. Admittedly we're not the easiest company to work with when it comes to things like that because we have two owners that are incredibly busy. When it comes to scheduling things with the owners, or even sometimes with me, they're incredibly patient. They make sure that it works around our timeline. But they are very good about keeping us on track.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I want to highlight that we were very impressed with them coming down and meeting with us in person several times and continuing to offer to do that. They also set time aside to meet with us at a HubSpot conference that was held in Boston about a year ago. They're very much engaged and they're willing to invest back in us, which makes us feel really good. They don't treat us like another paycheck. They feel like they're part of our team.

I would also highlight their creativity when it comes to unique projects. With the magazine they helped us develop, they have been really great about understanding our brand. It's tough to make something like roofing exciting, sexy, and appealing, but they've managed to do that. We also constantly get a lot of awesome reviews and remarks on our website design and how sleek it looks. People always say that we're like the Google of the roofing industry because of how innovative it's been. A lot of that is to Adhere's credit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

That's a tough question. For me, it’s us wanting to get even more involved and engaged on a yearly basis. I’d do more in-office meetings and go over five-year strategies. Right now, we're more on a year-to-year strategy basis, with a good understanding of where we want that to go. This isn't something that they need to improve on but what I'd like to see our relationship do in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up weekly calls or even daily calls at a specific time. Give them calls as frequently as you can.

Also, don’t be afraid to mention new or big ideas. They're very good about taking a big idea that I have in my head, that doesn't feel fully formed yet, and giving structure to it. They make it a reality and tell us exactly how to implement it.

AFFLINK is a sales and marketing organization. We cover a couple of different industries but specialize in supply-chain optimization for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and food service. I am a marketing manager for the group.

What challenge were you trying to address with Adhere Creative?

We needed more traffic to the site, and we were also creating a new supply-chain optimization page.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adhere Creative completely designed and created one of our sites. They implemented search engine optimization and AdWords campaigns for it, as well as other marketing strategies for driving traffic. They are also in the process of helping us design, optimize, and market another site.

Adhere Creative has built afflink.com, our company site in the summer of 2016. They handled all its facets, designing, developing and creating its copy. They also help us with our blogs on a monthly basis, handling inbound and outbound marketing for it.

One of our sites was built on WordPress, while the rest used HubSpot. Our next one is being built using nopCommerce.

Our keyword research was a collaborative process. We told Adhere Creative what some of the specifics of our industry were and left it up to them to monitor, adjust, and tweak things along the way. We had a similar process for content creation. They also created designs and pitched us some options. We made adjustments from there.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

Adhere Creative was selected before my time with the company. I have been a part of the contract renewal process. We initially wanted to put a strong focus on SEO, so my supervisor did some research, interviewed several companies, and chose Adhere Creative based on their interactions with him and what they were able to present.

The cost will vary depending on the project. Our main website was the biggest project we've had, but it was unusual compared to our average spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Adhere Creative in September 2015. Since then, we have renewed our contract because of the results provided by Adhere Creative. The collaboration is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

They have increased our traffic and sales as well as provided much more tangible reporting. The design work is much more innovative than what we'd seen in the past. Every year, we have a detailed game-plan meeting, and Adhere Creative has provided some out-of-the-box options that we've valued. We work in a very complex industry, but Adhere Creative has done a good job of getting their hands dirty and understanding all aspects of a project. We have constant collaboration and the monthly reporting gives us quantifiable data for the work.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Adhere Creative provides reporting on a monthly basis, which provides a lot of tangible information for us. We collaborate through a third-party site that allows us to see where we stand for certain projects, including due dates, people involved, and what is still outstanding. Adhere Creative's platform works very well for project management.

What did you find most impressive about Adhere Creative?

We like to change our minds and direction as part of the beauty and makeup of our business. Adhere Creative is great at adjusting to those changes, figuring out where we want to go, and creating all the steps for achieving that. Adhere Creative presents things which we hadn't thought of in order to provide an additional creativity aspect. We don't have the staff to do that ourselves, but Adhere Creative has managed it well.

Are there any areas Adhere Creative could improve?

I wish that Adhere Creative was based closer to us. We're in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and they're in Houston, Texas. We get a chance to visit them at the beginning of the year, and Adhere Creative will attend all our shows. If we were in closer proximity, we could have more interactions in person. In no way does this reflect Adhere Creative's quality of work. It's just preference.

I'm a speaker. I'm an author and a prolific blogger. I've been using HubSpot for five or six years.

I selected Adhere from a dozen or so agencies that HubSpot had recommended at the time. I submitted an RFP [request for proposal], and one of the partners at Adhere called me within an hour. That spoke everything about how seriously Adhere took customer service. That was how I decided to go with them as a partner.

On an annual basis, I spend $50,000 to $200,000 for Adhere's services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We continually tweak my site. Every month, there's something we're doing to it, I work to stay very active in the whole process.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Attribution is always tough because there is much at play. The reality is my site got more than one million unique visitors last year. That's pretty screaming wonderful. HubSpot is certainly part of it, but Adhere really helped to create stronger traction. They understand HubSpot, and they understand my brand.

How did Adhere Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Adhere is extremely responsive and responsiveness is important. They have always responded within 24 hours and many times within minutes.

What distinguishes Adhere Creative from other providers?

I think the Adhere Creative team is fun. They've accompanied a couple of video shoots with me. We shot video testimonials around the country, and the editing guys that they work with were professional and did a great job. They're also willing to say, "No, I don't think you should do this. Try that." It's a dialogue process with Adhere, and that is something I really appreciate.

Is there anything Adhere Creative could have improved or done differently?

Is there anything bad I could say about these guys? They're expensive. The Adhere Creative team aren't the cheapest guys you can find out there, but if you're looking for high-quality professionals that understand HubSpot these guys are it.

Adhere Creative was brought in for a range of things from website design, to the methodology behind the design, and the functionality of the site. They also were brought in to give us insight to HubSpot, to help us better understand content marketing, inbound marketing, and all that. They’ve definitely helped structure the process and give us a more meaningful way to talk to customers and give customers more valuable information prior to them even becoming customers.

How did you come to work with Adhere Creative?

We had done some work with Adhere previously, more as a content partner. That’s how we knew about their inbound services. I looked around a long time ago. We toyed with the idea of going more inbound. In the past, we thought we’d try to implement a strategy by ourselves. In the first week alone, I think we had enough new leads, assuming that they close, even one of them would probably pay back the investment on its own. I don’t have any hard numbers, but we started generating leads the moment the site went live, which was pretty cool.
