We were able to save a substantial amount by getting rid of an ERP we simply didn’t need. Adding new products is now simple, quick, and everything finally shows up the way it’s supposed to - we save hours on adding new products to the store. Our customers can now find their way around much more easily, which makes the whole shopping experience smoother.

They maintain constant communication about progress and upcoming tasks, ensuring we always know the project status.

One of our assets is the think tank directory, an online directory where all members of our community are registered. Whenever a funder, organization, or researcher is looking for a think tank, they can go to the directory and find detailed information about each think tank that participates.

We’ve had the directory for a long time, but it started to give us problems in 2024. Some features weren’t showing on the site, and it wasn’t easy for people to get the information. As a result, we contacted ambiscale (formerly Cut2Code) to help us audit the directory and fix the problems we were having.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The directory was already created, so we provided ambiscale (formerly Cut2Code) with all the access they required to check for the problem. They didn’t build it from scratch; they checked what was there and started to make the fixes.

The main problem was that we were using Airtable to hold all the information, and an update in Airtable caused a disconnection between Airtable and our WordPress site. As a result, ambiscale (formerly Cut2Code) helped us reconnect the things we had in WordPress with the update that Airtable made.

Although they fixed the most important things, we understood that since it was an old directory, we might need to think of a different process to follow next to ensure it works for a long time. As a result, we’re exploring opportunities to work on other projects with them.

They were always open to explaining things because I’m not an expert in the area. This was a very technical situation, and they were very open to providing detailed information about it. Moreover, the team's pricing in relation to their services was good.

ambiscale (formerly Cut2Code) met the deadlines. We had some conversations about the budget. Since our team had so many changes, not all the budget was well organized from our side and theirs. They deliver, and they’re perfectionists. They understand the quality we must provide and always meet our expectations. 

How did Cut2Code perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is very good. Cut2Code always provides a quick turnaround time, and they’re very reactive; whenever we have any issue, they’re very understanding and offer multiple solutions. 

We use a Slack channel to communicate and Notion, Figma, and Google Docs as project management tools.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

They’re very reliable. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Cut2Code has occasionally taken on projects beyond their capacity, but we’ve already tackled this issue with them.

Make sure that the quality of your designs and brief are good. Also, have very concrete communications with them if you want to get the best results.
