We needed to have backend D2C and B2B data analyzed and then graphically depicted for an investor pitch deck. Charts included CLV, revenue contribution, growth, customer retention. Also we needed to have summaries written for each chart to explain the data.

At this time, not applicable as we have not presented the deck yet, but we know that the information will be valuable.

Very responsive, very considerate, helpful, patient, positive. Clearly very knowledgeable in what they do and how best to turn data into usable information.

Responsive and very smart. They understood my objective and immediately got to work creating informational charts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Altamedia could have done differently?

In the future, I will need to get the charts more graphically presentable (i.e., larger fonts, bolder lines) but in the interest of time we took what was delivered in the 1st round.

I’m the co-founder and managing director of a CRM consultancy. We mainly provide B2B businesses with CRM solutions, digitizing their customer touchpoints. Among other areas, we focus on custom CRM system development, user behavior tracking, data science, and other digital marketing services related to customer relations.

We needed help with data tracking and analytics.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re working with Altamedia on one of our customers’ projects. Thanks to their expertise, they help us with custom development, project management, and data science. Additionally, we leverage their knowledge for deeper data tracking. We’re also working with them on a similar project but at a smaller scale for another client.

They’ve also helped us develop a data tracking and collection system with dashboards focusing on actionable insights. Its functionality includes user behavior tracking, event tracking, and visitor tracking. Additionally, Altamedia helps us work with the data we’re collecting with the system, which requires a lot of data science knowledge.

The data we collect with this system comes mainly from websites, but we also collect email data from email-automation tools and email marketing campaigns. Additionally, we collect data from CRM tools and user testings. To complement the user testings, we also do small interviews afterward to gather qualitative data.

In addition to these projects, Altamedia supports us within our own tracking and user insights. Currently, we have a large website that requires in-depth data tracking, for which they help us understand who’s visiting our site and where users are having struggles. With their help, we want to make the best out of that data and, hopefully, convert users into customers.

Altamedia also supports our ongoing work related to UX improvement and conversion rate optimization, consulting our clients. However, they also consult us, guiding us through questions we can’t solve ourselves.

We’re in contact with three people from Altamedia, including the CEO who is also a data science expert, a tracking expert, and a UX/UI expert. Other team members with different expertise also support us in the background.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We now have a highly functional tracking system that we can use for our customer projects and for our own needs; that’s the most important result. It helps us provide our customers with great recommendations and insights.

How did Altamedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Thanks to Altamedia’s project management, we’ve been able to deliver on the most important deadlines. They’re very transparent, and they always communicate if a daily deadline is not going to be met. We started our engagement using Trello but switched to Jira and Confluence. We also communicate via Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive aspect of our collaboration has been how well we’ve made it work despite only meeting remotely. We have a very smooth collaboration that I really enjoy. Additionally, I highly appreciate having Altamedia on board; they’re experts who help not only our clients, but they help us too. We’re super happy with them, and we’re always looking for future projects to collaborate on.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re very happy with Altamedia, but the daily, intermediate deadlines could improve. Additionally, it would be great if they improved their transparency regarding current project statuses. This is not an important issue, but it would surely improve our engagement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up a proper way to communicate, and set clear goals and milestones. Everything will work smoothly from there.

I’m a founder of a Berlin-based marketing agency called Berlinq. We’re focused on Shopify development, and we help companies start and grow their online business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Altamedia?

I needed someone who could partner up with me for all sorts of conversion optimization projects. I basically wanted another pair of eyes to understand what should be changed in terms of clients’ UI/UX designs, how analytics worked, what user behavior was on different devices, and how we could restructure sites to make sure that users got what they needed.

Most agencies that offer SEO reports offer standard packages. My end goal was to find a partner that could work on all sorts of different requests and be as flexible as possible.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We usually jump on a call with Altamedia and discuss client expectations. We’ve worked on a broad scope of projects ranging from helicopter views, looking at stores and determining whether they’ll sell products or not, to full-fledged optimizations, where we go through every detail of a store and propose action-oriented solutions—what is necessary to be changed and why.

We have a client with multiple stores, and we had a project for a jewelry store they’d recently acquired. They needed to understand how to restructure it, making sure that their ad spend would bring more value. We ran an audit with Altamedia, which required a quick turnaround of five working days.

It was a mix of high-level advice from a strategic point of view, and a list of actionable insights on what was necessary to change about the UI/UX, how we should redesign the landing page, and what types of products we should focus on and what products we should put in the background.

We found five major bullet points for which we could provide impact straight away. I got back to the client, and they were super happy. Our agency is now implementing the changes on the landing page, based on the list of actions created by Altamedia.

How did you come to work with Altamedia?

I found them on Upwork one year ago. I pick providers by conducting detailed interviews with at least 10 different ones through videocalls. Altamedia was very flexible. They would take projects for $250 and create great outputs. At the same time, they could deliver the same level of experience to clients with budgets of $10,000–$20,000.

We were working with a huge store with several millions of dollars of revenue per month, and they needed to understand how to optimize their conversions. Altamedia wouldn’t say no to a customer because of their size, but rather because they had unrealistic expectations. They’re candid, and they can deliver feedback in a candid way. I appreciated that.

We have 4–5 projects per month with them, amounting to $10,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Altamedia in the May–July period of 2019, and it’s ongoing. I see it as a long-term partnership. I go to Altamedia whenever I need a conversion audit.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I measure the impact of the actions Altamedia proposes for our clients’ stores, and I see that conversions and revenues are growing. That’s the best feedback that any company can get.

How did Altamedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a structural approach to tasks. They use tracking and collaboration systems like Asana. The quality of what they do is impactful. Everything is structured, with links to internal reports and data, and it’s all based on numbers. Compared to other providers from Central and Eastern Europe, their English level is really high. I don’t have to translate anything into proper English after they send me a report.

We track everything in Asana, and there’s a due date for every task. They chase me when they need a reply from my end, which is appreciated. I can’t remember anything that didn’t go according to how we planned it. They’re really good at setting up manageable timelines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to other providers we’ve used, what’s great about Altamedia is that they deliver what they promise in the beginning. I’ve had a few similar projects with agencies based in Ukraine and Byelorussia, and, out of six points of the conversion optimization reviews, they were usually able to deliver four, and they’d ask me for additional payment for the fifth and sixth, although those were already included in the fixed price.

This isn’t something I’m getting with Altamedia. I can always talk to Piotr about additional client requests, and whether those should be included in the review. He usually accepts it if it’s a valid comment. Piotr also has some business experience, so he’s not just a random developer talking about what changes a store requires. He understands what my clients’ businesses are about.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind right now. I’m super happy, and that’s a result of me speaking to and trying out different vendors. I found a team that’s doing a great job.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

With any conversion rate optimization agency, we have to be very detailed in setting expectations and explaining what results we want to get. The more detailed the request, the better the outcome.

They’ve helped us with multiple analytics projects involving Google Analytics and SEO. Their team helped us solve a connection problem we were having between Google Ads and Google Analytics. They compiled a series of reports on our Google Analytics using our CMS. Their work has evolved into an ongoing partnership.

My main point of contact was Peter (CEO). We usually worked with a team of about three people. They also liaise with another third-party vendor we were working with for development.

We put a job on one of the work networks. It was a relatively small data project, but they did well and our relationship grew from there.

We’ve invested between $100,000-$250,000 so far.

We started working together in November 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

Their work helped us optimize our ad spending because we understood what was effective and what wasn’t. We’ve seen an excellent return on investment. They’re very cost-effective. 

How did Altamedia perform from a project management standpoint?

They work with us using our Slack and Jira. We have regular project meetings with them. They’re very accessible. They’re self-starters and great problem solvers. The process with them is streamlined, and they’ve refined our workflow over time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with multiple development teams. They’re one of the only vendors that we’ve stuck with for such a long time. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

There are a few projects we’ve run by them that they’ve turned down because they don’t have the expertise. We would prefer to work with them even more, but I appreciate that they’re honest and know what they’re good at. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

Define clearly what you want to be done. They’ll fill in all the blanks and give you an honest assessment. Oftentimes, you’ll get a better outcome than you were expecting.

I’m the head of marketing at Ripple Yoga Wear, a yoga wear company in Israel. We make yoga wear solely from natural fabrics.

We started experiencing a slowdown in conversion, so we needed help from external experts.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They do our sales conversion optimization. In terms of our web design, they provided very specific changes with the cart and the product page. They went through our checkout and suggested things we might implement. We didn’t agree on everything, but we implemented what we felt went along with our values. They’ve been very smart in the things they’ve suggested. We’re working through Shopify. It mainly was based around content and emphasizing free shipping.

Apart from the web design changes, they did a lot of research and came back with numbers about all the statistics of where people are living at the final of the checkout. They prepare a very detailed report. In terms of real changes, we didn’t do a lot, but we learned a lot from their reports.

They’ve been very thorough. They simplified our checkout process a lot. We’ve already seen some nice improvement in performance. They helped us a lot in understanding our checkout in terms of detailed reports and numbers. They also did some research on helping us improve the load time of the site. We see more sales now.

Be very clear about your expectations in presenting the issue. Be very openminded and listen to them. Don’t have your own agenda before listening to what they have to say. They are smart people.

I’m the CEO of The Salt Box, an online B2B and B2C wholesale and retail seller of salt blocks, gourmet food salt, and bath salt in Australia.

What challenge were you trying to address with Altamedia?

We were having trouble with our website speed and it was affecting our Google rankings. We were also having trouble with the conversion rate as well, which we attributed to site speed. Our website is a BigCommerce platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We discussed options with them to improve our site speed. They did some diagnostics on both of those issues for us and then we came up with a plan to address the bigger issues.

They did an analysis of our conversion rate and looked at our Google Analytics. There was quite a detailed database to report on where our customers were coming from, as well as what was causing conversion rate issues, the type of traffic, etc. We came to conclusions on that and part of it was related to site speed. 

They moved from the data analytics side to looking at technical issues. There was a range of more technical things to do on the website to improve the speed, so they looked at site speed reports to determine what needed to be done. They added lazy loading to our website and taught us how to do some of it. They helped with HTML, lazy loading of images, and how to best store images to improve the speed of the site.

How did you come to work with Altamedia?

I found them on Upwork. I was looking for people who had the most relevant skills, and also good reviews and experience, which they did. We had an interview over Zoom to talk about what we needed. We wanted someone with BigCommerce experience and they did.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw the speed of our site improve and our initial load time decrease by about a second, which is really good. It’s also sustained.

How did Altamedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management skills were pretty good. It was a challenge sometimes with the time zone difference but they made time to have weekly catch-ups with us on Skype or Zoom. We used Asana internally and they used that as a communication tool as well. When they were giving us some direction, they’d do little videos on how to improve it ourselves. We had some documents as well. Their communication skills were excellent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was always a very trustworthy relationship. I didn’t feel they were trying to overcharge me for services. I was confident they were trying to do the best by me. They got the job done and I got the sense they can do a lot more, so we'll probably use them again. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It wasn’t a big issue, but every now and then there was a slight language barrier.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you think through the scope and talk through it with them. Get on a video call and have an interactive conversation. It makes it a lot easier to form a relationship and get the outcome you want.
