Our eCommerce business utilizes Access Dev for continuous software engineering and QA testing, including new feature development and A/B testing, site maintenance, and issue resolution. Most recently, Access Solutions was engaged to deliver a complete visual and technical overhaul of Blueland's headless Shopify-based webstore, with primary objectives being redesigning all pages, establishing a scalable design system, and implementing a component-driven frontend architecture using React.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our most recent project, a complete brand refresh and overhaul of our website design, launched without any major bugs or downtime. Overall we've measured success via our site performance and regression rate, both of which are consistently improving. Day-to-day, the team delivers high-quality code often ahead of schedule, asks detailed questions and works collaboratively on solutions, and is a pleasure to work with.

Provide guidance on BigCommerce web devleopment options for providing commercial mats to our customers. Discussed multiple options and determined best to add to our current site. Current site was develope by a different agency and had lots of cutom coding. Access Dev was asked to add an additional commercial homepage, commercial product pages, quote form, and some informational type pages. We also requested that they fix some issues we were alreayd having with the site from previous developer group. Requested they do all this with no disruption to our current residential business.

They seemed very upfront about everything and very open with communication. Never seemed like they tried hiding anything. They were always professional and friendly.They completed the launch ahead of our schedule and within our budget range, even when we threw in some extra things to fix post scope creation. We will be using them for future help as needed.

Because we're working with them on an ongoing basis in general vs a specific project, we were mainly looking for development quality and speed, which have exceeded our expectations.

Given we are working with them on staff augmentation via an ongoing basis, we are managing the specific projects on our end, so we mostly communicate with Access leadership around resourcing needs. They're always highly responsive to any of our requests and work with us to find a solution that will benefit all parties. 

As far as the quality of the development work -- their engineers are top notch and always deliver on time, ask great questions, and work quickly while maintaining a high level of quality.

The quality of the work is excellent. I also love that we're able to support the people of Ukraine during this time.

I wish that Access Solutions had a larger UX Design portfolio for more clients that were similar to us.

We hired Access Solutions to help us fix and finalize our Ecommerce Store that needed upgrading and integrating with our ERP systems. They came in after another consultant could not complete the job. We had issues with pricing integrations and design issues and a multitude of integration problems that needed to be addressed and fixed for our Online Magento Store. Our goal was to get these issues fixed and our upgraded integrated store launched asap!

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

There were referred to us by our previous consultants and after speaking with them, their professionalism, experience and price was a factor in our decision to partner with them.

We had multiple meetings to address the problems left behind by the previous vendor, ranging from pricing integration issues, customer migration from old magento store to new one, UX design bugs, product sync with our PIM not working, as well as other technical bugs. We used Magento Ecommerce platform and needed to integrate some components of it with our current Great Plains ERP system. We also use a PIM from Plytix to help us populate the product and marketing portions onto Magento.

We worked with 3 main players. The 2 lead programmers/developpers and strategist and one project manager. They utilized a myriad of programmers from their roster to help with day to day programming tasks.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After roughly a year of work, we are happy to say that the new Store was launched with minimal issues. We have internal roadblocks and issues in terms of skilled technical resources, which made things a little more difficult and lengthier, but CODIFI kept us moving forward and the end result has been a successful launch with a working, integrated ecommerce platform.

Their project management style was very efficient and proactive. They kept everything managed in a platfrom called JIRA and would keep us informed and updated in regards to every task that they were working on. Updates and comminication was great. They would use Emails and Slack to keep us updated on any changes, issues, fixes, questions, etc. They were easy to reach and answered in a very timely manner.

Their ability to listen to our needs and find solutions to help us get there. They communicated and worked diligently, which made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Which in turn built great trust!

I have nothing to say. They were great!

Lighting Supply Guy is an Irvine, California based distributor of lighting materials, selling to contractors and property management companies. I am the President of Lighting Supply Guy.

For what projects/services did your company hire Access Solutions, and what were your goals?

LightingSupplyGuy.com was in need of modernization, so we moved most of our functionality to Shopify. However, we had hundreds of legacy custom order forms built to reflect each apartment community lighting needs. This has pictures of the property site (i.e. "Leasing office ceiling fixture") with the products used to keep that lighting application running. This was not available out of the box with Shopify.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We spoke with MANY platforms and consultants to try to get this functionality built, but all bids were out of our price range. We had spoken to Access beginning on 2020 and liked their process and creativity. Access reached back out to me after Shopify made some connection changes allowing for a much more cost effective solution.

Build a custom order form that works with the existing Shopify functionality, including existing Items, customers, shopping cart and Apps. Their process included formal requirements documents and project management through Jira.

A relationships manager, project manager, at least two developers, and a QA person.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It's too soon post launch for any metrics to share, but this provides our best customers with a modern responsive way to conveniently ensure they get exactly the right lighting material for their specific property.

I received formal weekly status emails from the Project Manager; calls were held on an as needed basis. Primary project management, testing, and issue management were held in Jira. Other tools.

They have a mature process for the company size. Access Solutions was good at bringing alternative solutions to the table. Communication was very good and timely.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I'll definitely use Access again, so this is pretty small: While Testing on the more complex features was good, I advise ensuring QA the simple things.

Some of the early solutions created roadblocks that would have been nice to be considered ahead of time but not sure there was any way to know what all would be affected beforehand.
