What challenge were you trying to address with Zartek Technologies?

We needed a complete e-commerce platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our e-commerce platform, including both front- and backend development work. They kept different milestones for the work. The initial stage involved a long discussion about design, specifications, and functionality plans.

Once everything was confirmed, we moved to the initial stage of development. We had a website, an admin panel, and a mobile application for both iOS and Android. They reduced our costs by presenting many options. They selected Flutter and Oracle for reliable, quick delivery, so we used those technologies.

I had two points of contact, including a project manager. I also had my own freelance developer because we had the issue with the distance. We needed someone in our timezone in case of emergencies.

We did a lot of research and asked our network for recommendations. We looked at a lot of companies and Zartek Technologies was really good. They had a clear idea of what we wanted and the proposal they made was really attractive.

The cost of developing the same thing here in Saudi was much higher. We had one month of discussions around exactly what we want and how we want to phase the project. He explained we needed to have 2-3 phases to get it done fast.

We started working together from October 2019–May 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job of delivering projects within our set milestones. We did a soft launch and before going live and got some complaints about bugs. Their team fixed all bugs quickly for us. We’re getting back on track now and slowly we’re getting more downloads.

We had some communication issues and a project delay because of our timezone differences. To combat these issues, we set deadlines within our overall timeline to account for specific tasks.

There were some issues with meeting these, but they did finish everything. The main problem was the working day timezone differences. We had a lot of Google Meets sessions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were really good at explaining the technical aspects of the project. We don't have much technical knowledge, and they offered information that informed our process. They asked a lot of questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We are operating in very different timezones, which delayed tasks.

I am the business development manager in cleaning and maintenance company that is based in London. The company has been in business for 17 years and recently decided to service residential properties in addition to the services we provide for commercial properties.

When we decided to service the residential properties we decided to come up with a mobile application and a booking platform for residential users in the London area. We also had to create a mobile application for the service providers to manage their booking and customer contact.

The goal of the project was to create a home services app that caters to all the service needs in your home such as cleaning, gardening, pest control, removals, waste disposal, plumbing, electrician, painters and decorators, home improvements etc.

Zartek came with a integrated mobile application that interacts well with each other and the online booking platform to seamlessly provide a booking platform for the services they are looking for.

Once the project was explained they had come up with sample UI/Ux designs to choose from. Once the designs where in place and the objectives the project was clear to everyone Zartek started working on the project.

We had a series of review meetings and brain storming sessions to come up the solutions to problems we were facing while implementing the app. They have been really helpful in providing cost effective and innovative solutions that makes the best use of the latest technology available as they arrive.

The team comprised of a project manager that we were assigned and also developers and designers. I have been in contact with most of the team at some point depending on the needs.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The mobile application already has some traction from the initial day of launch. They have been really helpful with making the necessary changes based on the customer feedback.

The feedback from customers have generally been really good and there are real signs that the project is going to take of after some initial bumps in the road.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Initially we were assigned a project manager to co-ordinate all the suggestions and changes with the entire team at Zartek. This provided me with easy point of contact to convey all the changes as the project took flight.

In some cases I had to directly engage with the person in the team directly responsible for different aspects of the project such as web design, content creation, choosing the designs etc.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The company uses the best technology available and have thorough knowledge of what they were doing. All the developers seam to know what they are doing and have executed the project to my expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The timeline of completion of projects can be adhered to more precisely. although the business of app development is complex and the project may not always be delivered because of complications that arise from the project.

I am the IT Director of the British School which is the branch of a 600 year old reputed school in the UK. I oversee the IT infrastructure and IT services at the school.

Being a new school started in Aug 2019, we just had a landing page as our website. We wanted a fully dynamic, informative and elaborate website that gives all the details regarding the operations of pur school. Zartek was hired to develop our website.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a website that reflects the theme of our main branch in the UK. We wanted an enquiry form that facilitates visitors to submit enquiries that redirects to our staff. We wanted our internal staff to be able to edit and upload the basic content.

We searched internet and found some vendors who were reputed in webdesign. We sent enquiries to 6 vendors and requested for porposals. Technical evaluation was done based on our expected design, timeline, project methodology and post implementation service terms.

After technical evaluation, commercial evaluation was done. Zartek's proposal fulfilled all our technical requirements and had provided a good commercial deal. Hence Zartek was selected.

After the vendor was awarded with the project, within 2 weeks they completed the layout design of the website, which was exactly matching the theme of our main branch website.

Once the content was given it was quickly populated to the pages, the enquiry form was made live and the test site was ready in 3 weeks time. With further review fro our side and some suggested edits done, the completed website was uploaded Live in another 10 days time.

What was the team composition?

There was a Project Manager who coordinated with us on all the requirements. Then there was a back end and a front end developer. A lady was assigned for quality assessment, who would regularly review the design and content to make sure it was as per our requirements.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received a lot of compliments from the website visitors and parents of students, regarding the website. The admission application form was linked to our Management Information System, and hence all applications done via website went directly to our MIS database which made our admission records update automatic, without having to enter manually.

All information required for parents regarding transport, uniforms, activities etc wer e published on the website, hence people had easy access to all the info, instead of calling and enquiring with the school. All the news and circulars were also easily published via website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was a project manager from our side, and a project manager from their side. These were the focal points to collect information and coordinate with other members on the respective sides and this process made it very smooth rather than multiple people having to get involved.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

There was a well defined project plan provided to us in the initial stage, and this had the different milestones with target dates. Whatever requirements we had was so easily interpreted and implemented, which showed that they had some of the best expertise in the field.

A lot of innovative suggestions based on latest technologies were provided by them. They adhered to the timelines that were during the project plan and completed the project withing the specified time. Their staff was very cooperative, accommodating, and flexible all throughout the project.

We were very satisfied with their work and would recommend them for similar projects.

We were building an online ticket selling platform in the form of an app and website.

Zartek developed our web platform using the Django Python framework, and they developed the app for Android and iOS using Flutter. The web frontend was done in Angular.

We started working with them at the beginning of July 2018–the beginning of 2019. They continue to offer support services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The delivery was good. There were some bugs, but they fixed them during the initial testing. The overall support was also really good, and we were pleased with their ability to explain technology to a non-tech person.

How did Zartek perform from a project management standpoint?

They assigned us a project manager, who coordinated all the work in terms of determining what extra features and bits of logic we needed to implement. The communication with him was good, and I didn’t have to communicate with the tech team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Friends had told me to be careful with software companies, but Zartek gave me good support, and I haven't had any issues. They were particularly good at identifying UI/UX issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. The delivery was good.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to provide them with a full overview of what needs to be done. I went to them with a half-baked idea, then we made some iterations on it, and it became a complete idea over the course of time. If I’d had clearer ideas, I’m sure it could have been done in three months.

We want to build an OTT platform for our client and we reached Zartek to develop the same. The OTT should be built on the specific features asked by the end client with better performance on even the data network.

We were working with this team for other projects which were tough and challenging in terms of development and Zartek could deliver smart and smooth solutions for the same. So we decided to opt them again for the solution required.

A team of 5 got assigned under a project manager and Mr. Rishin ( CTO) had supervision on each and every small step during the development. Mr. Zameel ( CEO) has helped me to manage client meetings and gather and incorporate the feedbacks along with project team.

Within the timeframe, they could deliver the project with an amazing UI and feature sets. Code quality was pretty good and they could solve the challenge in a better way where we expect.

Pm was so easy to communicate via slack and WhatsApp ( as per our request). They were available all the time and respond to us in back timely.

Not much. Cause delivery was clean and undoubtful.

Zartek was very flexible in terms when and where they fit me into theirschedule. They went beyond the scope of the project in ways to help me set up the system. We have seen our web traffic increase since the deployments

They worked very closely with me. Their managements style can be described as earnest and pro-active. We mainly communicated via email and whatsapp and they were very good with meeting timelines.

I found their flexibility in handling tasks I assigned them and the patience they had in working with my schedule to be comforting. I was happy with their advice on the more technical aspects of the projects. They were ready to help us at all times.

Every update was given on Slack, so it was easy to manage. The manager gave us weekly updates on top of meetings every 2 days. Slack made it easy to directly chat with the developers if needed.

The knowledge that these developers had and innovative ideas really helped in bringing out the best in this project. The way the team worked really impressed us, always ready to work and no hiccups in between.

Communication has been better since last >6 months. We used excel sheets to resolve the issues from users, or to check/record the upgrading of new features in app base don user suggestion and experience. We also communicated via zoom, or WhatsApp calls. Team was responsive. Never felt language barrier.

I believe that team is young, and energetic, and improving day by day. Anyone new to app development process can also work with them easily. They always supported and clarified the answers for app work flow, or technical queries. The customer can work with them to discuss on the design and feasibility of ideas.
