A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm a Scrum master of Meijer’s mobile development team. We are a retail grocery store in the Midwest.
What challenge were you trying to address with Wyrmix?
I haven't worked with Wyrmix, but Alex (CEO) is a mobile developer who is helping us develop our mobile space and get us out there.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Alex is an Android developer helping us get our mobile app up to date to do shopping, orders, and other customer functionalities. The app is for iOS and Android, but Alex mainly helps us with Android development.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with Alex.
How did you come to work with Wyrmix?
I’m not exactly sure. My manager was able to bring him on board to our team.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2020, and he is still helping us out.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
From the day he jumped on, Alex has been instrumental in building the team. He sets a good example of how to break down user stories and structure everything in a way that the team can understand. He's been a great leader in that respect. For instance, he set up navigation in the app and was very instrumental in breaking that down for the team and helping them follow a good approach.
He has been working on adding sort and filtering to the app. He’s also been laying an architectural groundwork that the whole mobile team will use going forward. He's just been very instrumental in setting up good team practices. He communicates well with the team, and he's been able to deliver features that we're getting good reviews on.
How did Wyrmix perform from a project management standpoint?
Alex really thrives in project management. He can see the work, help the team break it down into small chunks. That way, everyone understands what's being done. As he's progressing through his work, he's very open and communicates well. He lets people and stakeholders know where things are and asks good questions that help define whether things add value to the project. For communication, we use Zoom calls and Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
His ability to step in from day one and get people to rally around him sets him apart from other providers. He's very passionate about this space, and it shows. He's always throwing out new ideas that he gets from the retail industry. That passion just shows through. People gravitate around him and listen to what he has to say. Executing the work has been what sets him apart from some of the other people we've worked with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I'm not sure about that. I haven’t seen anything glaring, so I don't have anything negative to say.
Any advice for potential customers?
Let Alex take the lead on things. He has a lot of knowledge in the area, and he's well-spoken. He can really shine if he's given the ability to run with things and the freedom to articulate his ideas.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a sales account manager for a technology solutions provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with Wyrmix?
We needed a support team to help us serve one of our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Wyrmix helped us develop an app for one of our clients. We worked with them on an order entry system that made it easier for users to order museum tickets without engaging with any of the staff. Additionally, they added a feature that allows users to add or remove products to speed up the checkout process. Once the app was finished, it was installed into a device on kiosks around the museum.
Initially, they had meetings with our customer to discuss the project goals and set a delivery schedule. Following that, Wyrmix worked with our team to develop the scope of the project. Specifically, we talked about the timeline, deliverables, milestones, and engagement processes for testing and delivery. After the scope assessment, we started the development phases. Every sprint, we released a version to the customer for them to test with their own team. We validated the feedback, updated the product as needed, sent it back to the customer, and eventually arrived at a final solution.
What is the team composition?
I worked with an app developer and a lead developer.
How did you come to work with Wyrmix?
We worked with them in the past. Wyrmix was always on time and delivered high-quality products, so we engaged with them again.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent over $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked from July 2019–January 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
At the end of the project, we demonstrated the final product to our client, and it was a success. The quality of the product was fantastic.
How did Wyrmix perform from a project management standpoint?
Wyrmix did well on project management — they delivered on schedule and nailed their milestones. We worked using the agile method and had two-week sprints. Most of the work was remote, but we had in-person meetings when they walked us through and demonstrated the product. We used emails and Slack to communicate, and we had online meetings to discuss the project stages and milestones. The communication was superb — the team was very good at responding and letting us know where they were in the process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed by their ability to provide recommendations. They were keen on developing a good UX, so they constantly recommended ways to optimize the app for the user. Their development skills were spot on, and they did everything they said they would. Wyrmix delivered everything in a timely fashion, so it was easy to trust them. They were a great group to work with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind at the moment. They did well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Keep them engaged and provide recommendations and ask questions during the process. Work in close collaboration with the team.

Mobile App Dev & Marketing for Automotive Sales Company
"Our customer base went up because we were able to offer a user-friendly and feature-packed platform."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Carfie Inc., an automotive sales company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Wyrmix?
We needed their team to redevelop and redesign our mobile application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Wyrmix rebuilt our native mobile application and integrated new user functionalities to fit the needs of our new users. Our goal was to present it differently in that the branding and interface are both refurbished and more functional.
Before they implemented development and design solutions, Wyrmix conducted thorough research and planning to determine the right tools and methods to use for this project. We also relayed our existing product information, including our goals and preferences for its final version. Based on those, their team specifically added payment channels to enable site payments and geolocation automation to locate vendors and other service providers.
After developing our application, Wyrmix provided testing services to guarantee its seamless operation. They discussed the new features and did a detailed product demo to ensure that we knew how to control and update the new platform. Additionally, their team performed post-development tasks by helping us promote our new application through creative marketing campaigns.
What is the team composition?
We worked with about 7–8 resources from Wyrmix, including web developers and UX/UI designers, a project manager, and a marketing specialist.
How did you come to work with Wyrmix?
I met Wyrmix during an entrepreneurial event in Austin, where their team set up a product booth. I then reached out to them when I needed a development partner, and we sealed the deal after an initial meeting.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from August–November 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Wyrmix’s development work evidently boosted our clientele. Our customer base went up because we were able to offer a user-friendly and feature-packed platform that they could rely on. Additionally, Wyrmix utilized efficient design solutions that improved our existing application.
How did Wyrmix perform from a project management standpoint?
We mainly communicated via Google Meet. Wyrmix was a reliable team with on-point communication skills. They worked effectively with our team to deliver the best results for our business.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their thorough workflow was definitely commendable. I’ve had underwhelming experience with previous agencies that only cared about getting their tasks done rather than understanding our process and our product, but Wyrmix stood out because of their collaborative and genuine approach.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s any area that needs improvement. Wyrmix delivered everything we needed and communicated effectively with us throughout the process.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Treat them as part of your internal staff and not an outsourced team. If you encourage them to collaborate with you to that extent of familiarity, they’ll be more confident in delivering the results you need.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO of a technology organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities
What challenge were you trying to address with Wyrmix?
We were inspired by my stepdaughter — she has a very rare genetic illness and needs 24-hour, around-the-clock care. Just to stay alive, she needs a wide range of services that are incredibly difficult to access. I have seen firsthand how hard that is in order to have her surviving each day, and wondered if there was a way that we could actually help people in similar situations.
We decided to create a technology solution to support people, businesses, and organizations who support people who need ongoing care. Our solution can help them achieve their goals and prosper together.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They are supporting software development. I initially thought they would be able to reuse code, but they came up with a novel solution. Rather than taking a cookie-cutter approach, they came up with a phygital solution that would last longer and be more sustainable.
Alex (CEO) also acts as an advisor to our business. He also assists us with messaging looks and has helped us set up the business up for the future.
What is the team composition?
Alex has introduced me to 4–5 different members of the team at different points in the project. Amanda (Full Stack Engineer) has built a lot of the technology, while Mark (Content Strategist) has been involved in UI design. There were some other people working on graphic design elements as well.
How did you come to work with Wyrmix?
We were having a difficult time finding the right partner and started talking about it with someone at a barbeque. He had known my stepdaughter for many years, so he asked to have a look at the project.
I ran through our vision and what we wanted to achieve. He acknowledged that we were building a very complicated solution and required our developer to have a rare skill set. After about a month, he found the perfect team for our project. I am so thankful he introduced us to Alex.
How much have you invested with them?
I’m unable to provide exact numbers, but they have been very generous. They worked with us for 18 months before I was able to pay them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started talking to them in July 2018 and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have a superior product now, and hopefully, it will allow us to help even more people than we set out to achieve. We hope that, with Wyrmix’s help, we can totally change the landscape for patient care. Everything they’ve done has exceeded what I thought was impossible.
There are so many stakeholders in what we are building, but Wyrmix has been able to create a versatile system. Whether they’re subject matter experts, parents, or patient advocates, this solution meets their needs.
Alex is so passionate about this particular project, and we really appreciate his commitment. He is super motivated and is willing to go out of his way to understand what we need. He also shows a ton of humility. He also listened to what we wanted and considered different points of review. He was even willing to let other people with impressive credentials review his work to make sure we received the best product possible.
How did Wyrmix perform from a project management standpoint?
We usually communicate via email and Slack, but also use another digital tool to track things appropriately. They approach everything systematically to ensure that everything is documented and well-communicated.
Behind the scenes, I know they use GitHub, but we recently transitioned to Monday.com so our entire team could monitor our progress. This transition has helped us become more transparent and allows us to communicate what we want. Now we can interact with the technology as they’re developing it.
We also talk over the phone. Alex is always willing to talk and doesn’t charge me for the conversation. Our biggest breakthroughs have come from long-winded conversations with them. He even traveled to meet the team and get to know us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
My entire team trusts Alex. They’ve earned our confidence. We also know that what we’re building has the potential to impact people’s lives, so it’s essential that it’s done properly. Their team has taken a lot of responsibility for delivering a quality product. It’s clear that they care about their community.
I’ve been astounded by the work they’ve done. They’re an incredible team. They’ve listened to our feedback and have made changes to get us where we are today. They’ve completely outperformed other companies I’ve worked with in the past.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They don’t need to change anything. We’re completely happy with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Really think about what you are trying to achieve so you can communicate it well. By clearly outlining what your goals are, they can take it beyond what you think you can achieve.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Chief Operating Officer for a multi-site physician organization.
For what projects/services did your company hire Wyrmix, and what were your goals?
Our company had grown five-fold over the past few years. We were in need of an internal communication web site dedicated to sharing news, policies, presentations, and information across our many different departments. The internal site would allow information to be easily found and would be our source of truth for evolving processess and information.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We researched capabilities with several vendors. Wyrmix was selected based on expertise and cost. Wyrmix also came recommended from a trusted colleague.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives for the site. We did have a specific site structure to ensure data was grouped by department and by role within our company to be easily found by all employees. Wyrmix developed the site within SharePoint, including a document library. Our leadership can easily add information to the site, keeping it up to date and relevant for our company. The site has been used for over two (2) years now and it has accomplished our goals for why it was originally created.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A project manager and one developer from Wyrmix worked with us on our project.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The internal web site has been a valuable project, allowing us to regularly share and present consistent information across a multi-site company.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Wyrmix set a schedule of regular meetings to review the development progress on our internal web site. The project was completed in a reasonable time period. The cost of the project was reasonable as well and ran just a little over our original estimate.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Wyrmix gave us a professional site that is easy to update. Their team was easy to work with and I would definitely collaborate with them again.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We do not have any areas for improvement. The project fully met our expectations.
Wyrmix implements different functionalities and improves the app rating. They have helped the team by explaining good practices and setting up the architectural groundwork. Their knowledge, combined with their willingness to accommodate their clients, makes them a reliable and instrumental partner.
