Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a plumbing, heating, and cooling company. We strictly do residential work. Master Services has been in business for 31 years and I’m one of the owners.
What challenge were you trying to address with WSI Digital Drive?
We engaged with them to evaluate our website in order to improve the performance of our platform. Moreover, we also hired WSI Digital Drive to enhance our Google conversion rates and increase our PPC ads and traffic to our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
After WSI evaluated our website, we prioritized what to work on first. That involved putting enhancements on our platform to help us get better returns. Then, we decided on a budget for our Google Ads campaigns. During that time, the team also identified the keywords we needed to use.
After that process, I turned the complete management over to Jim of WSI (Digital Marketing Consultant), and we meet once a month to track our performance and talk about changes we might want to do. Sometimes we also reach out to him weekly.
By August, we have a newly built website. He helped us again with reevaluating our website and made recommendations on how to improve it. Moreover, he worked with our tech support internal team to implement changes so that our platform’s performance could improve along with our Google rating. Since then, Jim has monitored our platform and manages all of our SEO. Sometimes, he also assists me when we do some direct mailing efforts.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with Jim, but he has a team of 3–4 people.
How did you come to work with WSI Digital Drive?
Jim joined our BNI group at Walworth County and I’m the VP. Our interaction with him on a weekly basis allowed us to talk about his business. He also offered a free website analysis and I took him up on it. Additionally, he’s a local in our area, so he’s only a couple of miles from the office.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay him $1,200 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing work began in April 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Previously, we had 42 calls coming in and 19 conversions. Since the WSI team helped us, we’ve received 134 calls and 70 conversions. We like that everything is documented and data-driven.
At the start, we talked about giving him a three-month trial period to see if he could make a difference in our performance and returns, and he has met our expectations. As a result, we’ve continued engaging with them.
How did WSI Digital Drive perform from a project management standpoint?
Whenever I reach out to Jim on the changes I want to make, he updates pretty quickly and gets back to me. I appreciate that he’s more than willing to help and that he diligently submits a full report of their work every month. Moreover, he’s offered to come to face-to-face meetings. However, due to COVID-19, we now conveniently use Zoom to communicate.
I get four documents every month to review and go over. During Zoom meetings, he also sets up a PowerPoint presentation to go through all the information written on the documents.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I built trust with Jim through our BNI membership together and getting to know him has been impressive. I like being able to sit down with someone face to face, and he’s offered to help us in other areas.
For example, when I had a problem with our Google guarantee, Jim found out for me that our insurance certificate had lapsed and he offered to fix it for us. He just goes above and beyond, and he literally jumps right away to help address questions we have.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think I have anything to comment on on areas they could improve. I’ve never had to follow up on anything with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a one-on-one with him for an hour and let Jim do a free analysis of your website. That way, you will be able to see their expertise and their potential impact on your business.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a wine shop.
What challenge were you trying to address with WSI Digital Drive?
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had a conversation with a business coach. One of the things he said was that my business looked great, but it was time for a new website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
When I bought the wine shop business, the website was simply updated with my information. WSI started from scratch and created a whole new website for me. They worked on everything from its design to the content.
They gave me a list of 30 different samples and suggestions. WSI also looked at what I liked about my previous website and compared it to the proposed ones. They walked me through the details of the website’s design, such as the number of tabs and the menu. Now, we’re also doing some SEO work.
What is the team composition?
Jim (Digital Marketing Consultant) is my main point of contact, and he has a team that helps him do the work. He also serves as the project manager.
How did you come to work with WSI Digital Drive?
Jim is a customer of mine. He said he can help me with creating a website, and I’m all about networking and supporting local businesses. I also liked the fact that their company has been around for a while. They’ve moved with the times. They don’t stay stagnant, and they grow to be one of the forefront people in the internet business.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve invested around $3,000–$4,000 on WSI’s services. I also pay for updates every month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2020, and the partnership is ongoing. We already went live in September 2020, but they’re doing monthly upgrades on the website. It’s a constant work in progress.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
My customers have told me they like the website’s professional look and its clean and sleek design.
On the website, I’ve listed all of the wines and products I’ve had over the years. People are now seeing the products and calling me. They can find me because I listed all the products on the website. Now, I’m actually selling online. I also previously didn’t have a shopping cart on the website, but we've added that to it.
How did WSI Digital Drive perform from a project management standpoint?
Jim has been thorough. I drag my feet, but he’s been pushy without being aggressive. He's provided me a timetable that we would follow. In terms of communication, he comes to my shop or we communicate via Zoom. We also stay in contact via the phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their professionalism distinguishes them from other providers. I always get emails that offer help all the time, but I like WSI’s approach better. If vendors want to work with me, I want to know who I’m working with. I don’t want some random person. I want a personal approach and touch, and Jim provided that. While I didn’t have that in the design team, he knows the vibe of my place, and he relayed that to the team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of the features on the website aren’t as adjustable as I need them to be, and that’s been my only frustration. I want more customization. However, I may have picked the wrong template that didn’t allow for that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Follow the timeline in a better way than I did. Creating a new website is going to be a commitment, and it’s not something you do just because it sounds like a fun idea. It’s a commitment. Know that it’s going to be a full-time project for a couple of weeks.
