We needed an external partner to help develop a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We worked collaboratively to come up with wireframes, mostly prepared by their design team. They developed the mobile application for Android native, as well as the web application that has the back office.Â
The app is geolocation-based. There is a map, and a list of merchants the user can buy food products from, showing their nearness to the user.Â
They also did the integration of third-party payment capabilities for the app. They helped in designing the logo for us, as well.

Initially, we interacted with Georgina (Chief She-Wolf & CEO) to discuss finances, and workflow processes. The project manager was responsible for managing information flow, beginning with the workshop we had with the design team for making wireframes.

We were referred to Clutch, which is where we found them. We considered six companies. We chose Wolfpack as our solution partner because of their quality of work and customer service.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Â
The app hasnât launched yet. Weâve had to pause the project due to COVID-19.Â
We had an idea for our logo, which we changed after feedback from the team. Our expectations were exceeded by the finished product. Regarding design, we had almost no iteration, and we are very pleased with their work.
How did Wolfpack Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication has gone smoothly, with very little misunderstanding, which can happen when working with offshore providers. We communicate mainly via email, and some phone when we need to discuss things in more detail.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were proactive and full of ideas. The experience is much better than I have found with other offshore vendors. Weâve been very satisfied with the quality of their work, and their customer service really sets them apart. They also have a very positive company culture.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Iâm the CEO and founder of Ideacracy. Itâs an iOS community app that allows users to share online content of the latest news on progressive issues like climate change and politics.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Wolfpack Digital?
I needed them to do the entire design and development of the app. I had initial ideas, conceptual drawings, and user stories but needed their design expertise.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started the project with a kick-off, two-day meeting. Their team and I walked through and completed the wireframing of the app. Because Iâd already drawn a lot of it out, they wanted to go in-depth and hash out the details together.
Adrian (CTO, Wolfpack Digital) was personally there for those meetings, as was their product manager and designers. After that kickoff meeting, we had about a month and a half of conference call meetings. Weâd discuss the progress of the app and comment on the design aspects. After they put it together, the design was finalized in the summer.
The next step was development and that took about two and a half months. Their team developed a clickable prototype on InVision. They used Swift for the frontend development, and Ruby on Rails for the backend. The whole process ran through their personalized product roadmap. Upon completion, the app was launched in mid-October.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was Gabe (Product Manager, Wolfpack Digital). I also worked with Adrian, Gina (CEO, Wolfpack Digital), and their team of designers.
How much have you invested with them?
Iâve spent about âŹ60,000 (approximately $65,100 USD) with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in May 2019. Although itâs wrapped up, we still roll out small technical additions to the app. Our partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
For the past few months, the app is available in the US App Store. Itâs intuitive and cleanly designed. Iâve received wonderful user reviews expressing that the platform is seamless, even for an MVP. Its functions are straightforward and performance has been great.
We had a small technical snag at one point, but after that hurdle, itâs been smooth sailing. Iâm very happy with it and so are the users.
How did Wolfpack Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Throughout the project, I received regular progress updates. I was very pleased with how responsive Wolfpack Digital was. They kept me involved during the entire process. I knew the status of completion for the app features and when things would be delivered.
Although the planning was effective, some aspects of the development process are inevitability difficult. Overall, they still delivered everything in a short amount of time. It took four and a half months from concept to actual productâthatâs really quick.
Our teams communicated through Slack. Their designers provided constructive feedback on my design comments. If I had any significant or large-scale feedback, Iâd email them or directly comment on the InVision prototype. I usually got a response within the same day or next business day if it was the weekend.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most impressive thing about Wolfpack Digital is that they cared about delivering a good product. That is the biggest thing that won me over. When we encountered difficulties or I was worried about certain things, they took on the responsibility and ownership of wanting to deliver and make things right.
Right after launch, we hit an unpredictable technical issue. At that point, their CTO and CEO got personally involved to make sure we came back on track. A fix was rolled out in a short amount of time. That really reflects their project management style, and I really appreciate how they took personal responsibility for that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
As for expectation management, I wouldâve liked to see more communication. As a non-technical person, I didnât grasp that they were following their own product roadmap for the project. I wasnât made aware that theyâd address some of my feedback toward the end of the process.
So, when Iâd provide feedback and didnât hear back about it, I was left confused. It wouldâve been nice to know that it was on their radar, but wouldnât be addressed until the end. That wouldâve helped a lot with my planning and understanding of where the focus was.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would advise them to be hands-on. I found that to be the biggest thing I enjoyed. Being on the call each week, collaborating on Slack, giving and receiving feedback, all the things helped me see how things were going.
Ultimately, I was really happy about the product because I communicated exactly what I had in mind. This approach is more effective than telling them to take care of it and then being unhappy with the end results.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We needed the prototype to join a start-up accelerator and it was a key input in order to get accepted. The proposed design was exactly what we were looking for, despite of little guidance from our side. The required changes were made always delivered before deadline. I particularly appreciated the fact that I always felt understood, the timely responsiveness of the team and their interest to understand my objectives and adjust the product in order to meet them.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
I had one project manager assigned with whom I collaborated very well, we communicated mostly per email, she was always polite and friendly at the same time. She was very responsive, delivered before deadline, pushed for some changes which were almost impossible. We are offshore but communication was never an issue.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They care about your purpose and go beyond building a product that works. They advise you, without being pushy, for the right product for meeting your objectives. In the same line I highly appreciated that I felt understood, the whole interaction was extremely smooth, makes your life so much easier when such collaborations are just flowing.

We had four applications in mind. Initially, we had calls with Wolfpack Digital to set up the project. Our team communicated what we wanted and expected exactly, which they were able to manage. Their team helped us consider and define product requirements and then took over the entirety of the project management. Their team provided UI/UX designs, which we discussed in design feedback sessions. After we completed the feedback rounds, they started to develop the native iOS and Android apps using the newest technologies available, which was important to us. One of the projects is almost finished and their deliverables at each milestone have been beyond what weâve expected. They have always either delivered before the deadline or at the deadline exactly. So far, the quality has been good especially with the preparation.
During the set-up and design phases, we had many feedback sessions, which was surprising to us because we didnât expect as much or such clear communication. Often, Wolfpack Digital has pushed us to answer their questions. This has been great because the pace of work has been quick. It has been a mutually beneficial relationship.
How did Wolfpack Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
As weâre in different countries all the work has been done remotely. Their team has always been available by phone or Slack, which has maintained the overall quality of the deliverable. Weâve also engaged with user-friendly online tools such as InVision and Lottiefiles, so it has been easy for us to view all of the projectsâ mock-ups and wireframes. It has also been easy to provide feedback.
Weâve relied on their project management and experience because we arenât specialized in app development. Wolfpack Digital was well prepared and prepared us well. When development started, we knew exactly what to provide to their team and how to provide it.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a strong vision. If I compare the presentation to the application that they built for us, it feels that it was made by them even though it uses our use cases, corporate identity, and our corporate colors. It fits nicely into their portfolio. Itâs a good sign when a company has a strong identity and can bring that into their products.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They put a lot of pressure on themselves because of their environment. A lot of companies outsource development projects to Romania, so itâs competitive. Their team's driven to produce quickly and be responsive, but it isnât what the client wants. The client may want two sessions rather than five different feedback sessions. Wolfpack Digital expected more at a certain phase of the project. They can adapt the process instead of trying to match their competitive landscape.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It feels like weâre working with a partner. Weâve listened to them when theyâve had different opinions especially in regard to UI/UX design as well as how to implement products. A company that just wants a service provider to code a specific set of requirements would waste the talent that their team has. Companies can benefit from all the experience and the level of partnership that Wolfpack Digital offers.

After some research on app development companies we decided upon Eastern Europe as a good choice due to the high technical expertise in this area and lower costs compared to some Western countries.
After shortlisting a few companies we contacted about 5 companies and organised Skype interviews with all of them before deciding upon Wolfpack as they stood out from the rest.
They seemed to be the most open-minded, forward-thinking and seemed the best fit for us and the app we wanted to develop. The technical skill of their development team also was very impressive.
Describe the project in detail.
We initially had a skype call with Valentina in which we first talked through our concept of the app and what we wanted to achieve. Following on from that we exchanged many emails with both Valentina and Georgina (CEO of Wolfpack) while Wolfpack offered us assistance in developing the user stories and wireframes for our app.
Many new ideas and changes occurred in those first couple of months of communication. Once wireframes and user stories were ready, we then selected our screens ready to create a usable mockup of the app.
What was the team composition?
Our main point of contact was Valentina (Marketing Specialist, Wolfpack Digital). She was an absolute pleasure to work with and we always felt like we were speaking to a friend, not a company and she went above and beyond in assisting us throughout the process.
We also worked with Georgina (CEO, Wolfpack Digital) who also assisted us with wireframe development and quotes for the app and app mockup and who was also a delight to work with. The passion and professionalism from both Valentina and Georgina was very evident.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
From our initial contact with Wolfpack Digital, we came from having a very rough idea of our app and goals to creating in-depth user stories and wireframes within a couple of months.
Having no prior experience in creating wireframes ourselves, Wolfpack provided us with ample assistance and examples to make the entire process very straightforward.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The smooth and honest communication we had with both Valentina and Gina made things extremely easy the whole way through. We knew that if we had any questions or wanted to run new ideas by them, that Valentina would always be available via email or video call.
Communication was always very timely and they always gave us honest responses to anything we suggested, if an idea could be improved or might be better to hold off on until later, they would let us know and this honesty and transparency was very welcomed.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We talked to quite a few promising companies before we decided to go with Wolfpack. Wolfpack stood out. Their development team was of some of the highest calibre but what impressed us the most was their ability to connect with us and our ideas on a deeper level.
In our communications we discussed not only the technical and functional details of our app but also the bigger idea and philosophy behind what we were trying to create. We always felt on the same page as Wolfpack, like we were working with friends that truly understood the bigger picture that was formed the foundation of our app. It was a mutual understanding that we didnât find with other development companies.
We never felt they were on the other side of the world, we very much felt like we were working together as a team in all aspects, it always felt cohesive. We feel very lucky to have found Wolfpack Digital and cannot imagine finding a team we would rather work with.

We communicated well. They responded to us rapidly, demonstrating their understanding of our business and any errors we might face. If we have something to change, theyâll change it.
All their developers are on our Slack, so I can contact them if needed. Theyâre always helpful and accessible. Their team is good at speaking and writing. Theyâve also visited us a few times at our office, which gives us a different perspective, having met them in person.

Their ability to be a part of our company stands out. Our communication is their main insight into our domain. I like that we have easy access to their developers and we donât have to go through a project manager to talk to them. Theyâre talented people.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I donât have anything to complain about. We have discussed some minor things.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work with the same developers and project manager so they can understand your domain and your company. Our strategy working with people abroad is to make them part of our development team so that our communication remains close. We donât just ask them for something and then wait 14 days to get a delivery.

We reached out to them to develop our software from start to finish.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed the software we needed for our business, working on four applications in total: two for Android and two for iOS, along with a backend admin dashboard.
I had a concept and vision for how we wanted the software to look, sketching up very rough drafts for each screen. That led into a Skype call with them, during which we spent two and a half hours making a wireframe with Georgina (CEO, Wolfpack Digital). She was very helpful and recommended a few changes.
We had weekly follow-ups after that every Friday, for 1â2 hours across three months. In between that, we went through changes over email.
What is the team composition?
We started with Georgina, who later assigned us to a project manager to build the application. He was easy to connect with and gave us some very good ideas, helping to put them in place. There were a couple of others in the background, with whom I spoke over email about payment plans and similar topics.
How did you come to work with Wolfpack Digital?
My partner had built a couple of applications in Ireland, but heâd never outsourced before. He had a friend who had used Wolfpack Digital, so we had an initial consultation and a quote, then went from there.
How much have you invested with them?

We started working with them in October 2018, and the projectâs ongoing. Weâre getting to the final touches now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Overall, the quality of the work is brilliant. My business partner was skeptical about outsourcing it initially, but he ended up having his current applications rebuilt by Wolfpack too.
We have beta versions of the apps, so we expect a couple of snags to arise. As with any project, we wonât know about those until the point of release, which will be in the next two weeks.
How did Wolfpack Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
I found them to be helpful, informative, and easy to contact, with a good turnaround rate. Overall, itâs been an enjoyable experience to work with Georgina and her teamâIâll definitely consider them for future projects. Georgina seemed to have a lot of experience; she was easy to talk to and had a great personality. We clicked from the very first session.
I just dealt with my project manager, so I couldnât really comment about the rest of the team. If I had a question that needed answering quickly, I could get an answer within minutes over Skype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The price-to-quality ratio was brilliant. We got quotes for the same application in Ireland, and they were two to three times the price we ended up paying Wolfpack. The quality they delivered was on par with those other groups.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I havenât had any negative experiences with them.

I advise clients to be in contact frequently. Georgina made an effort to come to Ireland and work with us.
