We create highly specialized digital content platforms for business and technology professionals. Each of our single-topic brands publishes in-depth knowledge, research, and product selection content and attracts a highly targeted, engaged B2B [business-to-business] audience. Our platforms include websites, social channels, and email.

I'm CEO of the company.

What business challenge were you trying to address with WMKD?

The challenge was to create and execute a long-term business strategy successfully that was cost-effective yet scalable.

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

The scope of the project centered on developing a strategic vision and defining a clear concept. As part of this process, WMKD was instrumental in shaping both our position and mission as a company.

How did you come to work with WMKD?

I spent months talking to digital agencies and discovered that even their most senior people lacked any real-world commercial experience. I also explored the business consultancy market and realized that they had no creative instincts. Go [Bhatia, founder of WMKD] stands alone because he's got a lot of experience, is extremely clever and understands the strategic dimensions and nuances of both business and branding. That's his USP [unique selling point] in a nutshell.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

It was between $10,000 and $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project itself lasted from October 18, 2010, through December 20, 2010. However, we continue to use Go as a strategic consultant when the need arises.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Since hiring WMKD, we have quadrupled the number of platforms that we publish and will continue to roll out others in the future. Go has played a significant role in the success of the company.

We are launching a disruptive new mobile service to millions of users worldwide.

We needed a branding agency to help us with our positioning, differentiation, USPs [unique selling positions], value proposition, messaging, and brand story. We then needed the agency to bring it all together in the form of a beautifully designed home page.

How did you come to work with WMKD?

We short-listed and interviewed several large branding agencies. Although some of their work was good, their fees were astronomical and they were too cold and formal. WMKD was recommended to us by our CEO who had previously worked with Go [CEO of WMKD] and had a great experience. Once we met on Skype, there was an immediate connection. We liked him and his honest, open, and direct style. He just got it, so we hired WMKD there and then.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

It was less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

It ran from February 15 to February 26, 2016.

He delivered on every aspect of the brief and more. We now have a beautiful home page.

What distinguishes WMKD from other providers?

Go not only writes great copy and has a great eye for design, but also he insisted on understanding our business and objectives before a word was written. We spent many hours brainstorming and discussing strategy, including working very late on a Saturday night to refine every aspect until it was nailed. He cares a lot about his clients' success and always goes the extra mile.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve or things you might do differently?

None at all. I have already hired WMKD for our next project. From now on, WMKD is our branding agency.

How did you come to work with WMKD?

We interviewed several agencies in London and New York but found that their fees were far too high. They were more interested in selling their services rather than spending time getting to know us and understanding our priorities and goals. Go [Founder at WMKD] was different from the start, in part because he wanted us to be active participants in the process, and he was more than willing to share his expertise and, in doing so, educate us along the way.

It was in the $5,000 to $10,000 range.

The project lasted from January 11 to February 6, 2016.

We now have a brand for our agency that has given us a very clear identity and acts as a focus for our community of shareholders, prospects, existing clients, leadership team, staff members, and new recruits.

Go's knowledge, attitude, and commitment are incredible. He cares about his clients, and he was with us every step of the way; supporting, guiding, provoking, encouraging, advising, and directing. Even after we had signed off on the project, he continued to send detailed incremental suggestions on how to improve our messaging and design. He has tremendous insight, is original in his thinking, straight talking, collaborative, trustworthy, reliable, fun, and professional. It's been a real eye-opener and pleasure working with Go, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve or things you might do differently?

Not at all. Everybody's delighted that we chose to work with Go and with the outcome of the branding process.
