I’m the creative director at a small digital creative agency based in London.

What challenge were you trying to address with WindStudio?

We needed to create an animation video for one of my clients, so we hired WindStudio for that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted an animation that showcased the service products that our client did. Originally, it was for internal use, but I think they also used it on their website. The scope was to create a one-and-a-half-minute or two-minute video for our client.

Our team created a storyboard for the video and sent it to WindStudio for approval, appraisal, and quotes. They took our storyboard and converted it into an animated video over the course of two weeks.

Our main point of contact was the head animator.

How did you come to work with WindStudio?

We did a wide search for lots of different animation companies. We wanted to try working with a company based in Ukraine because we outsource to Ukraine for other projects as well. With WindStudio, we found them through Upwork, and then we tracked them down on LinkedIn to start discussions.

How much have you invested with them?

The entire project cost was £900 (approximately $1,240 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project around August 2020. It lasted 2–3 weeks, so we ended the collaboration in September 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The only metric we had was our client satisfaction rating. The client was happy with the final product. WindStudio’s team ticked all the boxes. In the time that we allocated for the project, there weren’t any delays or any trouble — it was a pretty smooth process.

How did WindStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

I have worked with lots of clients and outsourcing suppliers; generally, when something goes sour, that sticks out. However, with WindStudio, we didn’t have any troubles. Their team was responsive, caring, and hit the deadlines without any troubles.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stood out from WindStudio was their flexibility. They were open to anything we suggested. We had to adjust the storyboard during the production, yet we didn’t have any troubles with the animation team. That was probably the most important thing for us. Their flexibility and ability to take on changes stood out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their team could propose ideas from their side. It’s not a requirement for us, but I think that would be something to improve. WindStudio should be more proactive with ideas and recommendations for the project that the client gives them.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would advise preparing the brief as thoroughly as possible so they have a good understanding of the project from the first meeting. Generally, the first interaction should be used to decide what you'd like them to work on, and if you don't know exactly what you want, be sure to provide plenty of examples.

For companies like them, they need to understand the look, feel, and expectations of the project that you want in order to deliver the best product possible.

I am the public relation manager for Jooble. Jooble is an international job search website used daily by millions of people in 71 countries. The company has been operating in the online recruitment market since 2006. In its 14 years of existence, the company has gone from a startup founded by two students to a global employment platform. Today, Jooble is among the TOP-5 websites in the world in terms of traffic in the Jobs And Career segment, according to SimilarWeb.

We were mutually committed to fast production, same day feedback cycles and swift work. They did an excellent job.

WindStudio did an excellent job and delivered the project on time, according to the brief and with a high production quality.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They deliver efficient, clear, communicative, and quality work. The thing which ties the process together is a strong feedback cycle and scene iteration process, which the studio did very well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Billing and invoicing could have been a cleaner process. I recommend that they start using a more formal / professional invoicing process and invoice in the language of the customer that is paying.
