App & Web Dev for Booking Cleaning Services

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a founder of Lula.Cleaning Company. This is an app, that simplifies the organization of the apartment cleaning, by keeping various bookings and reservations in one place.
For what projects/services did your company hire Winalife, and what were your goals?
We hired Winalife because we wanted to create a startup, that would allow to keep all the cleaning bookings from different platforms in one place.
How did you select Winalife and what were the deciding factors?
I met the owner of Winalife at a startup event, where he was giving a speech about Winalife and his aspirations to build a venture building company. He sent me a very nice and professional presentation and a decent price list.
On top of it all of the participants of the event received 10% off for Winalife services. So it convinced me to work with them. ;)
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
When it comes to technologies used – they made the website in WordPress. For the app they used PHP (Laravel) and Java Script (Node JS). They used Jira for Project Management and they let me to be a part of their “sprints”. Normally they don’t allow their clients to participate, but they made an exception for me, which I was very grateful for.
Every 2 weeks I would get on a video call with them and they would update me on the progress of their work. It was really nice cause I could actually see their work progress and if I didn’t like something or wanted to make some changes to our plan of work I could do it during our meetings.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 4 people, who were working on our project. Tomek Marcińczyk was our point of contact and our project manager, Karolina Mróz - a graphic designer and 2 other developers - Vadim Jarochowicz and the guy, who helped him. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of him.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The outcome was the website and the app which we created together form scratch. There are some minor technical issues, but all in all both things work great.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
The communication & workflow was good. I also really liked the fact that on top of some technical knowledge they gave me some startup tips and shared some contacts in the IT field. Certain thing of course took longer than anticipated, but it’s pretty normal for such a project.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As trivial as it might sound, they really try their best to make their customers happy. The discount thing and the fact that they allowed me to participate in sprints are very small yet very nice gestures. All those things really do make customers loyal :).
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Overall, I’m happy with the result of the project. There were a few features that we didn’t add due to some budget limitations (e.g. in depth analytics, automated notification to the clients), but I will get back to them to add those once I have better cashflow ;)

UX/UI & Design for Office Automation App
"They’re flexible, share ideas, and meet deadlines so it’s a true collaboration."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of Tivano. We automate business processes in small companies by use of a mobile app. The processes include invoice flows, office purchases, and scheduling.
What challenge were you trying to address with Winalife?
We started developing the app in September 2019, and we had a few problems with the initial version. Its design and user flow needed to be improved, and there were some technical issues. We were looking for someone to help with this challenge.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Winalife created a completely new design for our app. We followed this by changing some user flows and adding new features.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with Tomasz (Founder).
How did you come to work with Winalife?
I first met Tomasz at a startup event in Warsaw. I wasn’t thinking of a collaboration at that time, but I called him when the need arose. I had a couple of meetings with him and discussed the design and functionality problems we were having. I had a couple of other options, but Winalife was the most suitable for me.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost is around $15,000, so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our first meeting was in January 2020, and we started the collaboration around March. We’ve completed an advanced MVP of the app, but we still have plenty of ideas on how to enhance it, so the work with Winalife is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Someone wouldn’t even recognize it as the same application — it’s completely different and much better. We’ve done 100% of what we intended to do, and I’m very satisfied with the quality of Winalife’s work. The app is working as I originally intended it.
How did Winalife perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a close collaboration, with regular meetings. If anything needs to be discussed, we can do it immediately. Winalife has the same thinking as us in terms of how the app should look and flow. They’re not just code providers; they actively participate in determining what the best features and user flows should be.
They’re always on time. Given how software houses work, deadlines aren’t usually met, but this isn’t the case with Winalife. They allow me to plan more business development, knowing that I’ll be able to deliver from the technical side.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re flexible, share ideas, and meet deadlines so it’s a true collaboration. They actually think about what they’re doing, which is very important, and deliver quality work.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing I can mention at this time. Everything’s been delivered on time and is of good quality.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
The client should listen to Winalife and take what they’re saying into consideration. They have good ideas, and the client can benefit from describing the whole project to them, not just the technical parts.

UX/UI & Dev for Hands-Free Payment Software

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and CTO at RestPay, a hands-free payment software — we’re a startup. We make stands to put it on the table. You can scan your QR code or tap the MSD and pay very fast with Google Pay, Apple Pay, some other payment system, and in Poland, the most famous is Blik.
What challenge were you trying to address with Winalife?
We had the idea and needed developers to build it for us. We needed someone who could handle the project management, too.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us a lot, working with us to build the product from scratch. They’ve helped us in researching, UX/UI design, development, and architecture. We can count on their team and they’re useful in every part of our process.
How did you come to work with Winalife?
I met the CEO at an accelerator, ReaktorX in Warsaw. I contacted him to help me.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $25,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2020 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We finished our alpha MVP and we’re currently moving to production. We have an agreement with three restaurants. We need to secure five of them and we will be testing our software for 3–6 months. Everything has gone very well.
How did Winalife perform from a project management standpoint?
They respond quickly. All tasks are completed before deadlines. We were delayed on our end for nearly every deadline and they had to wait for us, but they were very patient. We communicate via Slack, phone, Jira, and Confluence.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They don’t treat my team and I like a client but rather a colleague. They’re patient, helpful, and friendly, advising us on our ideas. They’ve removed our time-consuming ideas.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They have a small team and should recruit a few more people. They shouldn’t get too big but bigger than they are now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust them. Be open to their ideas. Let them do their job.

We hired Winalife in order to create a custom website for us. We wanted the website to look professional, neat and intuitive as well as fast and SEO friendly.
How did you select Winalife and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Winalife primarily because Tomasz Marcinczyk (the CEO of the company) is a friend of a friend of mine. So, I have heard numerous recommendations of him prior to the project. The other deciding factors were the price and the portfolio of Winalife.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 3 people, who worked on the project – Tomasz (the CEO), who was our point of contact and at the same time a project manager of the project. The other 2 people were a UX/UI designer and a WordPress developer.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The main and most important outcome was a beautiful and intuitive website, via which all the customers could book appointments with therapists in a few simple steps. There also was a dedicated panel via which professionals could accept new bookings and modify their schedule once there was a need.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Winalife team is very punctual. The project overall took longer than anticipated but it’s only because while preparing the project we came up with some additional subpages that we didn’t think of in the beginning. We used Slack and Google Hangouts to talk to each other. Winalife team used Jira for internal project management and they gave us an access to it so that we could look into the work progress whenever we wanted.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Well, I was actually impressed by how disciplined they all are! They work remotely, yet they all are a super effective team. They also have really good developers, I think some of the best in the market actually.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, I don’t think so. I’m fully satisfied with the project.
