Chateau Chizay
For a few months we were working pacient and devotedly on a website and internet shop for our countryman and friend - the finest wine complex Chateau Chizay. This project is different for us for several reasons: we have not worked with Ukrainian clients so far, neither have we worked as a strategic agency being responsible for a full scope: from strategy and UX to deployment. The task was not easy due to the fact that the customer. a well-known Ukrainian Chizay wineyard, had a well-functioning online store and a large number of website visitors on daily basis. We decided to transfer everything to the Wordpress CMS along with WooCommerce for the store. In the process we also integrated the system with the popular Bitrix CRM and developed several custom modules. The client trusted us and enjoyed the results.

Web Dev & CRM Integration for Digital Consulting Company
"We were in a really desperate situation and they got us out of it."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of ALLEHERZEN GmbH, a digital consulting company.
What challenge were you trying to address with White Label?
We had a project for a German association representing an industry in business. They asked us to assist with a portal that would aggregate over 2,000 companies. Part of the portal was a website and the other half involved a CRM system integration with a custom-made backend. After designing the concept for the site, they asked us if we could actually fulfill the project. We found a contractor to do it, but they failed, so we had to cut our losses and find a new partner to complete the project on time and within budget.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The project involved a preexisting open source and PHP-based CRM system that’s integrated with a WordPress CMS for the website. White Label developed the coding for the website’s membership area from scratch. The design was done by an external design agency, but White Label did the template development, transferring the designs to the actual functional components. They also did front- and backend work and the API interfacing, which involved integrating the CRM system and doing a very hardcore, custom integration of Google Maps.
The 2,500 plus companies are listed on a customized version of a Google Maps. They had to transfer all the data there, which was a really difficult task because a lot of information was simultaneously transferred back and forth between the systems. While the work on this project has been completed, we’re starting a new project with White Label for another client.
What is the team composition?
There was a frontend team that did the template for the WordPress website. We had an integrations team that did all the backend work.
How did you come to work with White Label?
They were recommended to us by another partner, which was the main reason for choosing them. We approached them with a very tight timeline and a low budget and asked them for a pragmatic approach and solution. They were very forthcoming and professional, and it only took them a few days to review the code that we sent them. They agreed to move forward with the project and we were able to secure some extra money to get the project completed. We’re very happy that we found them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February until August 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project was completed on time, which was a major issue since our client was threatening to sue. They took a deficient project on the brink of disaster and turned it into a success. The client still uses the system today without any major changes. The project turned out really good, and we still use it as a reference.
How did White Label perform from a project management standpoint?
Their quality of service was exceptional. Most tasks were completed on the first take, and there was a very low percentage of corrections needed, so the debugging process went shorter than expected. We used at first Basecamp and then switched to Jira.
We really enjoyed working with them because we had a straight connection to the development team through Slack. We could really follow their internal communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The speed at which they work combined with their quality is impressive. They have the agility to pick up a project that was done by a third party, understand it in record time, and then make it theirs. Our client only gave us an additional month to complete it and they were able to meet that timeframe.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Using Basecamp wasn’t ideal from our standpoint, so they switched to Jira for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be open to talk to the developers directly, and at least have a project owner that has a strong tech background. Whoever I spoke to at White Label had a strong technology background.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the executive vice president of Chateau Chizay, a winery and vineyard.
For what projects/services did your company hire White Label?
We contracted with White Label to develop our website and implement an online store of our products.
What were your goals for this project?
Our original website was separate from our online product store. Updating them both would have been a fool’s errand. Instead, we hoped to create one website that combined everything about our winery.
How did you select this vendor?
They came highly recommended by a colleague. White Label offered the most reasonable price, and I appreciated their communication style.
Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?
After a meeting to review our goals, we relied on White Label for UX and UI development. They integrated WooCommerce into our new WordPress website.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a project manager, a designer, front- and backend developers, and a QA technician.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We are more than satisfied. White Label delivered a stylish and modern website with a functional e-commerce component.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Our communication was transparent and timely.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
White Label’s staff is friendly and accommodating.
Are there any areas where they can improve?
Early on, we had some minor communication issues between the project manager, the designer, and the developers. We resolved those, however, by holding full team meetings more regularly.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the product owner of this project for my client
For what projects/services did your company hire White Label, and what were your goals?
We wanted an accompanying mobile app for a workbook that is currently done in school. The workbook is for first year students (13-14 years old) and the hope is that an app would improve with engagement with the program
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We chose White Label based on a recommendation from a previous customer that my client knows and they were able to provide a very competitive price
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a requirements gathering phase initially which took quite a while considering that my client/stakeholders had no experience in the software development process. The team were very helpful in providing help in any all areas especially those that I might not have experience in. We provided the team with high level design ideas and their design team worked their magic and came back with high quality screen mock-ups which is what I was able to show my clients throughout the development process.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A project manager throughout the process, a graphic designer initially to create the screen mockups and then a small development team
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
With the majority of development has been finished, we are delighted with how the app is turning out
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
From requirements gathering to delivery, the team were extremely responsive with whatever questions I had for them.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are very accommodating which considering this was my client's first venture into the world of software development, this was incredibly important
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I think from both sides, the documentation that came out of the requirements gathering phase could have been more detailed which would have avoided confusion later on in the project
