I am co-founder and the CEO of Metta app. Metta is a social audio platform where users can contribute to personal development in your daily life. Metta offers a vide range of audio contents, such as podcasts, audio books, meditations, stories and music.
For what projects/services did your company hire WECODE, and what were your goals?
Our goal was to build the very first audio marketplace platform that will compete with the giants of audio market, such as Spotify, Headspace etc. We needed a reliable and at the same flexible partner, a company with leadership skills and able to constantly innovate.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were looking for the companies who has deep expertise in building marketplace app. Wecode was impressive at this point, they already had marketplace apps in the portfolio. Another key factor was the UX/UI of projects in their portfolio; all were very up-to-date and attractive for the user. After we had a meeting, we liked their approach: they came with many original ideas, it was obvious that the team is aware of market trends. Also we were impressed by their will to implement innovations on every stage of development.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We can divide the project in 3 main parts:
- First, the initial step and most important deliverable, was iOS and Android mobile app. The app included main features of marketplace and audio tools (player, categories, etc).
- Second was the web version. It was based on features of the app with the sophisticated design.
- Third we added the app for Apple TV, Apple Watch, iPad, and also mobile app for Huawei.
The app was constantly developing with new features added, some milestones were the following:
- Social profile for content creators with the ability for users to like and follow the updates
- Adding different languages (English, Russian, Spanish, French)
- Adding podcast feature and enlarging app’s categories Now the app is available in stores, but it is still under development, since Wecode team comes up with outstanding ideas and helps us to make the app even better.
