App Dev for Legal Services Networking Platform
"They were trying to renegotiate the terms, but the way they did things was shocking and disgusting."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of General Counsel London Limited, which is the operating company for GCLondon. Our aim is to establish a professional networking app for legal services.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
I needed an MVP for iOS, so I hired WebMob.
What was the scope of their involvement?
There wasn’t much communication after the delivery of the first product, which was the MVP. I had asked them to stop the maintenance charge after a while. I came back to them again after some time to build the Android app and web app and to update the iOS version.
What is the team composition?
There was a marketing guy who first called me. I then spoke to the CEO who assigned a project manager to me.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
They were the ones who contacted me. I was doing an extensive search and checking out Clutch as well. I proceeded to work with WebMob mainly due to the cost and the good communication.
How much have you invested with them?
I think I invested around £18,000 GBP (approximately $25,000 USD), and I also paid a quarterly maintenance fee of £340 (approximately $500 USD), which went on for quite a while.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around October 2017. It hasn’t wrapped up yet because I’m still hoping to get something from WebMob, like access to what is published on my domain as well as my AWS account that I am still locked out of.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I have a registration with the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) here in the UK which recognizes my company and my project. I had even gone to fairs. It has been a complete disgrace for me and I am just so petrified to restart the whole project since I basically have to delete it and start all over again. I’m just hanging on that maybe something can be done.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
The relationship was very professional throughout for the delivery of the MVP. They were all very nice in the beginning, and things went underway relatively smoothly. I exercised quite a lot of accommodation and patience, and there were no conflicts from both sides. I didn’t notice anything bad.
The PM was really responsive and the CEO was available when I needed him, but there wasn’t too much communication because I left them to do the job. They delivered the product, but there were lots of spelling mistakes and bugs. It wasn’t an amazing job, but I knew that we could work them out since I anticipated those problems would appear.
In the second project, I noticed a difference in the team culture. They seemed a bit more in higher steam, but the communication was not as good and the billing style didn’t feel right. It felt like I would give them the job, and they were going to charge me for whatever they needed to do before checking with me and negotiating things. I tolerated it until they delivered the product.
Before delivery, I had asked for a handover process in case I needed to hand over the project to someone else. They agreed to it in an email, although there were some elusive terms which stipulated that they would hand it over, and if I gave them any work after that then it would be under a new contract. I was happy to continue and tolerate what I could.
After they shipped the product, I called Pramesh (CEO) in January 2020. He mentioned in the comments that I ended the relationship with them, however, when I called him in January, it was him who cut it off, stopping midway in the conversation and said that he didn’t want to work with me anymore.
I didn’t lose my temper, but I was stifled. What set me off was that he started dictating to me that if I wanted to continue working with them, it would be under new prices that I had to accept without questioning what they charged me or what work they allocated to my project. They were trying to renegotiate the terms, but the way they did things was shocking and disgusting.
After all the rubbish of getting upset about this and not resolving it in a sensible way, there was no way forward. I tried to get another developer from their team to get the stuff from them, but they weren’t responsive and were asking for money. It was as though they were holding me hostage. The worst thing is there is another gentleman who didn’t bother writing a review. He called me and told me that Pramesh did the same thing to him and left him hanging, and he had spent considerably more than me on his project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are people reaching out to me who’ve had the same experience, so they must have done this to a lot of companies. These people, like me, are probably being held hostage, not doing anything to WebMob because they are stuck.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t use them because you can potentially kill your whole project.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of General Counsel London Limited, which is the operating company for GCLondon. Our aim is to establish a professional networking app for legal services.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire WebMob Technologies?
I wanted to develop a mobile app to house the legal services networking platform.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal was to complete an MVP.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
After an exhaustive outreach effort and discussions with many vendors worldwide, WebMob Technologies contacted me directly. I found them highly responsive and refreshingly insightful in our first meeting. Their prices were competitive and I appreciated their level of communication, so I decided to work with them.
Describe the project in detail.
The team developed an MVP for our networking app. Now, we are working on the next stage of the product.
What was the team composition?
I spoke with a project manager, who handled communication within the WebMob Technologies team. The CEO and the head of marketing made themselves available upon my request.

Company response
The vendor responded on January 17, 2020.
We worked with the client for the last 3 years. Initially, we developed an iOS app where the client provided the designs. During the development stage, we provided consultation on the designs that were not per industry standards and designed the missing screens for a better user experience.
Once we delivered the best-quality, bug-free work, the client approached us to continue the partnership. We redesigned the whole system as per industry standards and developed an Android mobile application, a web application with extended functionality, and created the server architecture to deploy the system. Seeing the long-term relationship, we provided a discounted price with very competitive hourly rates.
After over three years, we increased the price for the first time, and the client disrespected and shouted at the CEO during price negotiation. They later apologized for the same thing in a written format.
Not only did we develop, design and deploy the networking platform, but we have also provided consultations regarding system functionality, marketing plans, and strategy as well as providing a high level of services on the spot.
This is very disappointing to see a review from the client just because he ended the business partnership due to his unprofessional behavior with the company.

Web App Dev for Video-on-Demand Company
“They’re very good at graphics and UI design.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a video-on-demand company.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
I needed them to build some web applications.
What was the scope of their involvement?
WebMob Technologies developed my video-on-demand web app. It allows users to rent movies digitally. Now, their team is working on adding new features such as music and e-books.
What is the team composition?
I work with the CEO and project manager. There are about 10 people on their team, working on different aspects of the project.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
I found them on Clutch. After visiting several companies that I was considering, I selected WebMob Technologies based on the efficiency I observed. We had confidence they’d deliver quality work.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $160,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement began in January 2018, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Thus far, the deliverables are great. Through no fault of theirs, some of the programs weren’t what we expected. But overall, they deliver what they promise. They’ll be my go-to company for a long time.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
I receive project updates from our project manager and the CEO, who has been heavily involved in the project. Everything has been completed on time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very good at graphics and UI design.
Are there any areas they could improve?
If they had more connections with big companies like Google and Facebook, it’d be easier for them to do their tasks. Currently, they don’t have good contacts like that.

Scalable CRM Platform for Real Estate Company
"They provided actionable business development advice because they understood our processes."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a real estate agency and I manage multiple brokerage firms.
What challenges were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
We were developing an enterprise-level CRM software and lead generation platform for real estate agents. We wanted assistance in building the CRM component of our platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I had a vision for what features and capabilities I wanted. We wanted a solution that would automatically capture any communication between our agents and clients. They helped us create a system that could track phone calls, text messages, and emails. The system is available on desktops and as a mobile application for iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
At the peak of the project, we had a team of 18. I worked directly with the CEO and project manager. We also had front- and backend developers, and app developers.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
I posted the project on the internet, and they reached out to me with a proposal via LinkedIn. Their proposal showed me that they were approaching the project holistically. They showed a desire to tailor their work to the real estate industry and my business specifically.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began our ongoing relationship with them in April 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They spent a lot of time digging into our business process so they could offer ways to improve it. They hadn’t worked with a real estate company before, but they were able to gain a deep understanding during our engagement.
The speed, ease of use, and responsiveness are at the same level or better than the current CRMs on the market.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
Although there is a large time difference between our offices, they were available to work on my hours. I was able to visit their offices in India and some of their team members came to our office in California. They helped create a project management roadmap that helped us track deliverables and meet deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Having a new perspective from them was helpful. They provided actionable business development advice because they understood our processes.
Are there any areas they could improve?
My original preference was to develop the product as quickly as possible and launch it before trying to polish the features. However, they worked to deliver a more polished product that was more highly-functional than I expected. They didn’t want to launch a half-baked product.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You need to put in the time to get the best value out of the project. If you just hand off the project, you won’t get the same results as you would if you remained actively engaged.
This review was updated by Dan Sundberg on May 19, 2020. New content is below.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of people and culture at a real estate company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenges were you trying to address WebMob Technologies?
We wanted to build our own real estate search site from scratch. There are a lot of out-of-the-box solutions, but we wanted something more robust.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built a sophisticated search and map search feature. The solution also updates as you scroll through. Users can filter for certain criteria. It was also important to us that the service was quick and responsive. Additionally, they integrated lead capture functionalities throughout the site.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a team of 18 people. Our direct points of contact were the CEO and a project manager.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
I think we put an ad up on a freelancer website. We interviewed several candidates. At first we were hesitant to hire a company, rather than an individual. However, after talking to multiple options, their capabilities stood out.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent about $250,000 for this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in April 2019. The site launched at the beginning of March 2020. They’re still working with us to provide updates and make modifications as needed.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re benchmarking ourselves against one of our major competitors. Their site converts about 1 in 8,000-9,000 leads. In contrast, our site converts about 1 in 4,000 leads. So far, we’ve had about 12 in-person client appointments and made 3 sales as a result of the site.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very communicative. They gave us lots of opportunities for input and feedback. One of the things I appreciated about them was that they shared a lot of insight and were willing to push back on things. They didn’t just take our orders.
I think they used Trello to manage the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work is really good. The site they built allows us to be competitive with larger companies whose budgets were probably far larger.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communication is really important because of the time difference, as they’re based in India. As a result, It’s important to be flexible when you schedule meetings.

Website Redesign for Life Sciences Consulting Firm
"Overall, I was very impressed with the quality and engagement that the team provided."

Please describe your company and your position there.
I work for a consulting firm specializing in the life sciences industry. I have an internal-facing role where my responsibilities include managing our external communications (website, social media, etc.).
For what projects/services did your company hire WebMob Technologies?
WebMob helped us to redesign our website. As our company has grown significantly over the past several years, we were looking for a professional and engaging website to help attract top candidates for roles at our company. We were also looking to demonstrate our expertise and capabilities effectively to our clients. As we are a relatively small firm, we needed external support to help with the design and programming of our new website.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goals were to create a modern, visually appealing, engaging and professional website to help attract candidates and clients. We had a number of topics that we wanted to effectively communicate to our online audiences. We also wanted to enable data capture from our audience so that we could better tailor content to audiences in the future. The website also needed to look polished and professional on various devices.
How did you select this vendor?
We had worked with this vendor on other prior projects, and they were maintaining / making routine updates to our prior website. We asked them to share ideas / options for our new website and we liked the ideas that they contributed.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
WebMob was responsible for developing the website designs and implementing the programming. We provided all of the website content / wording to be included. They provided design options for each page within the website as they were completed. We iterated on the specifics of each design and then once approved, they developed the website and ensured mobile responsiveness. They created a backend for the website where we can make edits as needed.
What was the team composition?
I worked with a single point of contact, Darshini Patel. I am not sure what the team composition was.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
As we have headed into our major candidate recruiting season, candidates we have spoken with have been well informed about our company, the work we do, and what the company provides to employees. They often ask very informed questions and are highly motivated to apply for roles with us. As we did not have measurable metrics prior to the update, we cannot compare year over year. However, having access to these metrics now has already helped us to understand our audience better. For example, we know a few basic demographic trends and we also know which sections / elements of our company story are most appealing to audiences.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Darshini did an excelled job of managing the project. We used Trello to keep everything on track. Once a page was completed, it was moved to a section of the Trello page that indicated it was ready to review. We also worked in Adobe XD to provide specific feedback on elements of the design. We had check in meetings a couple times per week to discuss newly completed items and to address questions. While the time zone difference (India to US West Coast) limited some of our options for scheduling synchronous meetings, Darshini was very willing to stay online later during her evening to make our regular check-ins work. The time difference was even quite helpful sometimes. I would have a full day to review new designs, and often times I would wake up to have all of my feedback on designs implemented with new versions ready to review.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Incredibly flexible and creative, interesting designs. We had a lot of ideas and a few different stakeholders involved in the process. This was a really important project for our team. Darshini and the WebMob team were always highly adaptable when we needed aspects changed. They would look to clarify and understand the request, then effectively implement the change in a very timely manner. They were fast at making changes and updating the designs and web development page. Darshini was fantastic to work with. We were really happy with the way that the website turned out -- WebMob was able to build a website that visually interesting, engaging, polished and professional.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There were some items that we were responsible for that the WebMob team wouldn't do. However, all of this was stated upfront and was no surprise. We were responsible for drafting all of the content ourselves. We also selected most of the stock photography used within the website, as we had preferences for photos that communicated particular ideas. There were some areas where we ended up spending more time than we expected, for example with correcting minor typos that were not originally in the content that we provided. However, overall I was very impressed with the quality and engagement that the team provided.

We hired WebMob Technologies to develop a website and mobile application for a revenue portal. The solution needed to generate revenue reports for our clients and handle functionalities such as rewards cards and location finding.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, we provided requirements and design guidelines for the solutions. WebMob Technologies is now building the site and the app for iOS and Android. We’re doing testing and reporting any issues. May 2019 is the target completion date.
What is the team composition?
I interact with the project manager. She has a team working behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
I joined Midwest Electronics Gaming after the company hired WebMob Technologies.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2018 and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The portal is user-friendly for our old-demographic clients. Users have had to adapt to new revenue report generation processing, but we haven’t encountered any major issues. We’ve been able to update features and implement fixes quickly.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
WebMob Technologies accommodates the nearly 12-hour time difference. We can schedule Skype calls on relatively short notice. Turnaround times are appropriate for the complexity of each task.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team understood our perspective and leveraged that insight to meet every requirement.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Communication between teams has slowed as the final stage nears. This is a crucial time to communicate regularly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Clients should be prepared going into the partnership.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the marketing manager of a chemical products exporter.
For what projects/services did your company hire WebMob Technologies?
We hired WebMob Technologies to design and develop a React Native cross-platform mobile application and a website with a backend admin panel. We wanted an application that was interactive and not just informative.
What were your goals for this project?
Up until last year, we did business on the phone and didn’t have much of a digital presence. We wanted to reach more businesses and individuals who were interested in importing chemicals products. The platform needed to be accessible to users anywhere in the world.
How did you select this vendor?
Initially, I had meetings with the CEO of WebMob and a project manager. They suggested several ideas I hadn't even thought about. Their dedication and feedback before starting the project distinguished them from other vendors I was considering.
Describe the project in detail.
I provided WebMob Technologies with a document detailing how we wanted the application to work. They suggested we implement notifications to give users real-time updates and a graph view so they could look at price history. The app also allows users to search different chemical product categories, receive daily price updates, connect with our company for a quote, and view messages. The app is being developed for iOS and Android. The website they’re building will be used to promote the app.
What was the team composition?
I worked directly with a PM, who managed the team developing our mobile app. We had pre-scheduled, bi-weekly meetings with the project manager and developers face to face.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The mobile application has helped us digitize our business and given us an opportunity to reach more users. We still have a long road ahead, as we need to market the application to reach our target audience.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I was the primary point of contact on behalf of our company, and I interacted directly with their PM via email and phone. The PM was very efficient and responded to every request quickly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
WebMob Technologies took care of the entire process, from design and development to deployment. We’re very satisfied with the end product and have decided to continue working with them for additional feature development and application maintenance.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, there aren’t. They manage their processes and resources well.

iOS & Android for Social Network App
“Their team is trustworthy and dependable.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a social networking application.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
My business partner and I came up with an idea for a new social media platform, but we needed a development firm to help us build the app from scratch.
What was the scope of their involvement?
WebMob Technologies guided us through the process of app development. They attended early brainstorming meetings to hear pitches and refine our options. They collaborated with us to create a detailed scope of work that informed the rest of the engagement. Their efforts included designing the app’s wireframes, color scheme, logo, and general interface. They also developed the complex functionalities that make our app unique.
Ultimately, they implemented everything we discussed and built the platform for iOS and Android. The final product is a social network for local communities. The app enables users to post activates or hobbies they enjoy and ask other members of the community to join them. The goal to create close-knit communities based on shared interests. That app has launched and we’re currently talking with WebMob Technologies to figure out a marketing strategy. We’ve also retained their services so they can provide ongoing system maintenance and support.
What is the team composition?
We work directly with their owner and a project manager. I’m not sure of the total number of people on their team.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
They were referred to us by a colleague who had worked with them in the past. We decided to give them a shot and have been happy with the results.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The primary development work took place between April 2015 and July 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t widely promoted the app, so our feedback on it is somewhat limited. However, users have stated that they appreciate the platform’s appealing and straightforward UI/UX.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
Considering we’re in the United States and they’re working from India, I expected to struggle with the time zone difference when communicating with them. Luckily, that hasn’t been my experience. We interact via Skype and email. They’re always responsive and are willing to stand by their work. Their team is trustworthy and dependable. Overall, I have no issues with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re friendly, fair, and we enjoy working with them. The quality that WebMob Technologies delivers is on par with what you find in the United States. However, they also offer competitive pricing. It’s been a positive experience thus far.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes it’s challenging to communicate complicated ideas over the phone, but that’s likely the case when conducting any project without face-to-face meetings.

Custom Software Dev for Education Platform
“They were invested in the long-term viability of the product.”
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a strategic planning and performance platform that’s focused on the core essentials for driving progress in education. The platform was designed by and for educators to streamline planning, management, and performance monitoring.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
We wanted to make the planning and performance process technology based. The platform needed to allow for more efficiency, increase communication, and permit evidence and data to be vetted within a plan for project management. We also needed this platform to be intuitive for the end user.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built the entire application, which houses multiple databases, and includes features like login, filtering, reporting, and data entry. The application allows users to prioritize evidence-based strategies, provides annual outcome metrics, monitors progress, and effectively track goals.
I’d already created a conceptual model in Excel of what I wanted, and what I thought was the most impactful. They took my model, created a wireframe, and after a series of conversations, made refinements to build the final product.
They did a good job of translating what I originally wanted into the end product. There were things that weren’t clear in the initial scope, but needed to be adjusted based on usage once we input the data.
What is the team dynamic?
I initially worked with Pramesh [CEO & Founder, WebMob], then the project manager became my primary contact. There were 2–3 developers working on the project depending on what stage we were at.
How did you come to work with WebMob?
My brother-in-law recommended them to me. Working with someone I would be comfortable with was more important than saving money, so I had some people check their coding and previous work. I didn’t consider any other development companies.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $10,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in June 2017, and was completed in August 2017. They now provide ongoing server maintenance.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We launched a month ago, but there are already some people using it, and it works well. We haven’t experienced any downtime or lapses in functionality because WebMob has been able to fix any bugs within 24 hours of being notified. More things will arise as people begin to use the app, but so far, WebMob has been really responsive.
How did WebMob perform from a project management standpoint?
They remained accessible and communicative to me throughout the project. The project manager and myself were both new, so the project ended up being completed a month later than expected. I also added more to the scope, which probably added 2 weeks. I was generally pleased, and they were really flexible. The project management could have been better, but in the end, being able to learn the design together allowed for us to have a better end product.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really appreciated their flexibility, responsiveness, and willingness to take the time to talk through things with me. They provided constructive suggestions and used critical thinking to find the best solution.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They weren’t very specific at times, and because I was unfamiliar with this kind of work, I wasn’t aware that I needed to ask for clarification. I didn’t realize how many decisions needed to be made as things evolved, which caused them to have to interpret design elements. Communication was a challenge sometimes, but for the most part, we worked it out.
Although I only worked with one person from their team, they could benefit from providing more clarity regarding some of the functionality. It’s hard to know what the end product will look like, and how it’s coded, without any real data. It would be beneficial for them to include some iterative testing as part of the initial scope.

Mobile Development for Professional Networking
"What has stood out to me the most... with WebMob Technologies, is the skill level of their developers."

The client submitted this review online.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO / Co-Founder of a start-up technology company that builds simple, easy to use social networking products. Our premiere app, is a multimedia digital business card for professionals and teams, with in-app support for video, audio, and graphics. The app also has dedicated lead nurturing and contact management tools to help people conveniently follow up with prospective leads and build better customer relationships.
What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?
We wanted to provide people an easy way to conveniently store all their contact information and social networks in one place, plus the ability to share targeted content with the right people at the right time. People and companies in general, are looking for eco-friendly alternatives to paper and digital has become the primary way people communicate and connect with others. We saw a huge opportunity in providing a better way for one-on-one connections to be memorable.
Research shows by the year 2021, 82% of all consumer traffic IP will be through video. Additionally, leads nurtured with targeted content increase sales opportunities by 20%, which is the driving force for this project. Our mobile solution integrates the power of video and provides professionals and teams, all the contextual amenities of a traditional business card. Our primary user base consists of small business owners, professionals, startups, entrepreneurs, and sales & marketing teams.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We were introduced to WebMob Technologies through a 3rd party. They listened to our vision and from there became a part of our team. The full scope of work carried out by WebMob Technologies consisted of wireframing, design, development (API), synchronization between web and mobile APIs, 3rd party integrations (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, iCloud) and research.
Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.
We started from the very beginning with wireframes and the entire process was very seamless. We did have some revisions and some various iterations to the initial design, but overall, the process was very seamless. After the wireframe, we moved into the development of the APIs and the app overall. We’ve been working with them a little bit over a year and a half. It’s been great. We fully developed the iOS version of the app. We still have some additional features that we’ll be rolling out throughout the course of 2017. We’ve also begun development on the Android version. Right now, we’re in phase two with the Android version. We already have a wire frame that’s done. The APIs have been developed and we have a first stage version of the Android.
We do have some features that we’ll be coming out with soon. We’ll have some insight tools that will allow the user to have a real time overview of every interaction that a person has with their digital card. That will help that user properly follow-up with them be it through social media, or a follow-up email or even a conference call. We’re looking forward to that. We have a team collaboration feature that’s going to be very intuitive. CRM integration is coming out. Social media uplinking, and also a social media feature where you will be able to share your digital business card with an individual through social media. For instance, if I met you and I wanted to share my digital card with you via LinkedIn. We’d have that feature via Facebook or Twitter. All of that is in the works. It’s an exciting time in our company right now. We’re just grateful that we found WebMob Tech. The relationship has been great. They have some of the best Developers that I’ve ever seen. The code is clean. The app is not buggy. It does as it advertises. I’m a happy customer.
How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?
Prior to working with WebMob, I was not working with any other vendors. When I found WebMob Tech, we were basically interviewing various mobile development companies and we felt good about them and decided to go with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
iOS development began in December of 2015 and has been ongoing. We are currently developing the Android version, which is scheduled to be released in October of 2017.
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
The app has been very successful. We officially launched the product on November 18, 2016. On May 13th we launched the digital card aspect and re-evaluated our value proposition in March and basically just converted the app to be a dedicated digital business card with great network and the lead nurturing tools. So ever since May 13th, our downloads have been through the roof. The feedback has been very positive from our users both on social media reaching out to us and also in the Apple store leaving reviews. The app is not buggy. It works as advertised. Being that we’re an early stage startup, that’s really essential to the overall growth of the app. That’s been a plus for us. From November 18th all the way up until today, the app has only had like five crashes and that may have just been random. It’s a solid app. Our users are loving it, and it’s showing by steady growth. It is the first ever multimedia digital business card with in-app support for video, audio, and graphics. This could not have been accomplished without a team dedicated and fully vested in the process because it was not easy but that's what you get from WebMob Technologies. A team of professionals fully vested in the process and the success of the project.
How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
Besides the Project Manager, I would say we had probably four developers, to my knowledge. I’ve never had direct access to individual Developers, but the Head of the company, Pramesh [Founder, WebMob Technologies], I’ve had discussions with. I spoke with Darshini [Project Coordinator, WebMob Technologies] a couple of times a week. It just depends on where we’re at. My skill set, I am a Senior Level Graphic Designer. In that aspect, I understand how clients can kind of nag you at times and when a developer or a designer or artist are in that zone, it’s kind of best to just let them be. So I only reach out to Darshini [Project Coordinator, WebMob Technologies] when we are approaching a milestone or if I have a question or if I have an idea that I want to bounce off her to see, firstly, if it can be properly implemented and, secondly, what a workable solution might be.
What did you find most impressive about WebMob Technologies?
What makes WebMob Technologies a great company to work with is their team. Darshini is our project manager and she is amazing. She's very knowledgeable of tech, code, web, and best-practices. Request and suggestions are always delivered to the developers in the context in which we spoke. The developers are highly skilled and can do just about anything you can think of and I'm not exaggerating. We bring a lot of ideas to the team. We discuss them and take into account all the variables. We create a plan and their team executes that plan. Our results speak for themselves, which is evident in our user downloads, user retention, and user comments.
What has stood out to me the most, with working with WebMob Technologies, is the skill level of their developers. Our app is not and has never suffered from code errors or crashes. The application is solid and does what it is advertised to do. Being a startup and introducing new technology, you don't have second chances. A buggy app can be detrimental to your company's growth and public perception, so you really have to get it right the first time, and partner with a company, if you don't have your own development team, that is reputable, knows their stuff, and can deliver a rock solid product.
Is there anything WebMob Technologies could have improved or done differently?
Their professionalism and craftsmanship skill set, I’d give a 10. With all of us being professionals, there’s always something we can improve on. I don’t have anything negative to say about WebMob Tech. The only thing that we’ve experienced really early on was basically we came out with a feature and invested a lot of money into it, but the research wasn’t properly done. I thought it was going to be pretty seamless, but we ended up having to set up an account with Microsoft and had to set up an account with Azure, which incurred additional costs and time. That wasn’t detailed when we originally spoke about the feature. That just had to do with properly doing all of the research based on the idea, the implementation, and execution of the app, and doing the proper research to make sure that if there are additional steps, let that be known in the full scope in the initial meeting. So that way, us as business owners can make the decision if we want to move forward with it or if we’ll just table it for another day. We experienced that, addressed it, had a meeting, it was discussed, a solution was put in place, and to this day we haven’t had the issue.
Do you have any recommendations for others considering working with WebMob Technologies?
The only thing I would suggest for anyone is that when you’re building an app, we all have great ideas in how we want the app to work, but you have to be very detail oriented when you’re dealing with developers because they develop what your vision is and if you haven’t fully thought it all the way out, then once you get into the building stage, there may be two additional steps, where those two additional steps will incur a cost. It’s always great to think your idea all the way out, put it on paper, have an initial meeting, and go through that vision and those features line by line. Ask them. Get their insight. That way once the meeting is over, you have a full scope; they have a full scope of their deliverables, and the pricing will reflect that.
WebMob Technologies was able to successfully create an MVP. However, upon being brought on for further developments, the team introduced new terms that the client found questionable. After unsuccessful renegotiation, the engagement has been terminated. This review is an update by the client company. The original content is located below the new review.
