Explainer Video Production for Specialist Recruitment Agency
“We Make Online Videos’ process has been perfect.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the director of Simplified Recruitment Solutions, a specialist recruitment agency in Australia. We service small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and franchise groups.
What challenge were you trying to address with We Make Online Videos?
I wanted a simple explainer video that would be accessible 24 hours a day and that gave a brief description of what we do and why we're different.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I worked alongside We Make Online Videos and my copywriter. They sent me a form to fill in, and then my copywriter and I worked together to create a script. Once we put that script together, We Make Online Videos made a storyboard, which went back and forth between me and my copywriter. After the storyboard was finalized, their team made a demo of the video.
A voiceover artist performed the narration that the copywriter made. They also gave us an option to choose among 4–5 voiceover artists. Once we tweaked that part, we again went back and forth to change how the voiceover artist had to work. After that was sorted, they finished the project and sent me the final piece.
In terms of documentation, we only gave them the script. Then, they went through our website to know our branding. I also had a phone call with Phil (Client Success Specialist), who already knew the business.
What is the team composition?
We work with Phil, who brings in the work. We also work with an animator. They’re the two people who serve as our liaison inside We Make Online Videos.
How did you come to work with We Make Online Videos?
I’ve been networking with Phil for about a year. We’ve been a part of networks and groups even though we weren't in the same business. I’ve seen his work a few times, so when I decided to make a project like this, he was the only option that I wanted to go to.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $3,500 AUD (approximately $2,700 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working around June 2020, and the partnership is ongoing, although this specific project is finished.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Measuring the impact of the engagement is a little difficult right now because I’m waiting for other products to be completed to go alongside the video. The video is on my website, but I haven’t promoted it yet. However, the people who I’ve shown it to have been truly impressed by it, so I’ve received great feedback.
Meanwhile, I suppose the video can convert views into sales. The ease of access is also good; it can be seen and understood around the world. I expect it to have a great impact on our business once I use it properly.
How did We Make Online Videos perform from a project management standpoint?
During our initial conversations, we used Zoom. From there, we’ve used emails and phone calls to go back and forth.
What did you find most impressive about them?
That moment when every element works together is amazing. The video has gone from being an idea from my head to being a completed product. Considering the scrutiny and the changes made to the voiceover artists, the final product is perfect. A recruitment consultant who watched it said it was like one of those advertisements she saw in cinemas.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. We started the actual production around November 2020, and then Christmas got in the way and extended the timeline. However, that has nothing to do with We Make Online Videos. The delay was because I had to liaise with the copywriter, who also had to work. We Make Online Videos’ process has been perfect; it was us who were a bit slow.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you speak to Phil as your main contact person. Keep that relationship with him, and make sure that he’s included in any communication. He stays on top of everything.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the founder and director of a boutique management consultancy firm assisting small businesses with applying for and winning government grants.
For what projects/services did your company hire We Make Online Videos, and what were your goals?
I wanted a quirky video that would feature on my new website to give the audience a clear understanding of the service process and how it is beneficial to engage a specialist in the field.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
WeMov were introduced to me by my website developers. We chatted and hit it off immediately. Based upon the initial discussion and a review of their past work decided to engage them, because I felt they understood what I needed and had the skills to bring it to life.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
The video is my step-by-step guide to winning government grants. We started out with my copywriter preparing a script. The team then produced a story board. I built on that. They then produced a first video. A a couple of edits it finished.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I worked with James, Dael and Phillip. We conversed via email, and zoom mostly. They were very easy to deal with and added their thoughts which made the end result even better. My creative web developer join one of the sessions so that we ensured the alignment with the brand execution.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The video speak for its self - check it out at www.granthelper.com.au

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the Marketing & Communications Manager at Taguchi Marketing. Over 12 years ago Taguchi developed a world-class marketing automation system for organisations that communicate regularly and frequently with huge customer databases. Taguchi’s clients include household names such as Domino’s Pizza, Webjet, Endota Spa and Accor Hotels.
For what projects/services did your company hire We Make Online Videos, and what were your goals?
We were after a company that could manage end to end video production for corporate videos, case studies and the like, for an affordable price.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Customer service, quality of the finished product & value for money were key decision making factors.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
To be honest the video production projects have been extremely efficient. From the initial brief, feedback on drafts and then to approval - can be a matter of days. I'm a strong believer in detailed briefs driving a better outcome and this approach works really well with the WeMOV team who are incredibly fast and responsive.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
Phil and James have been my contacts to date, a pleasure to work with.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The project has resulted in re-purposing content in a way that aids supports and amplifies our marketing strategy.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We were able to work successfully over email and attaching PDF story board briefs.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their speed.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Looking forward to meeting in person, particularly on potential future projects that may be bit more meaty. Covid-19 lockdown restrictions don't help this cause.
The company hasn’t promoted the video yet, but it’s live on their website. The client was most impressed by the video’s quality, which they compared to cinema ads. We Make Online Videos also leads a solid process. Overall, the firm is confident that the team's output can have a good business impact.
