We needed Website Developers India (WDI) to develop our website.

WDI developed our first website and built it completely from scratch. They had to build the foundation of the site back then when HTML5 didn’t exist yet. They also worked on our SEO, which has changed a lot since then. 

Over the years, our engagement has developed and changed with e-commerce evolution. Now, we’ve transferred to the Shopify platform because doing so is easier and cheaper for us. WDI has handled the migration for us, and the team has helped us integrate multiple apps into it.

We’re currently working on another project with WDI to take the website to another level, and we’re targeting more customers using SEO. So far, they’ve done many things for us, including design implementation and website optimization. Their resources also help me when the business hits a wall.

Apart from Ritesh (CEO), I’ve also interfaced with around 7–8 people from their team. We’ve worked with quite a few other people from their team over the years because they’ve had a rotation in staff. They have different roles; some are program-oriented while others are design-oriented. Other members are focused on management.

I met Ritesh a long time ago when he first created our website. At that time, we were looking for a cost-effective solution. If I’d gotten the same service from a London-based company, I’d have paid 5–10 times more, and that would have made such a partnership unfeasible.  

On top of that, we wanted a sensibly managed timeframe. Our team needed to grow and add things to the partnership, whereas many companies tended to be project-centric — they finished a project and left us to it. By contrast, Ritesh and WDI were highly flexible at everything. They allowed us to put the project in place and adapt to changes as we went on, which was another reason we chose to hire them.

We started working with WDI in January 2007, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve gained good signs of growth in the business. Around 14 years after we started it, we still have a web presence and a modern and functional website — we’re still using the same vendor. There’s no other better success metric than that. 

Moreover, we always try to push boundaries from a design perspective. Often, we get complimented on the look and ease of use of the website. Other websites sometimes crash or don’t work; we rarely have this kind of problem, and we haven’t had any outages for many years. 

Overall, we don’t have any problems with the website, and people are buying our products and using our website regularly. Those are the most important things for us. 

How did Website Developers India perform from a project management standpoint?

WDI has always been incredibly professional and clear about our goals. As a result, I’ve always been pleased with their work’s results. In terms of project management tools, we use Trello to organize things. Generally, though, we communicate with the WDI team via Slack or Skype. 

To elaborate, our communication channels depend on what we’re trying to accomplish. Sometimes, it’s easier to do things by email. Other times, chat services are more useful. When we have broader projects, we use Trello to bring in other people. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

WDI’s flexibility is the most impressive part of working with them. They have a team behind them that delivers all the individual tasks I need. On top of that, they have specialists and programmers that seem to be freely available to work with us as needed. Having the ability to call in an expert in a short amount of time whenever I need has made a big difference for me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, we have to rush to get something done because of factors like Christmas or the holiday season. The WDI team hasn’t always met such rushed timeframes. To be fair, this is expected to happen in any business. We simply can’t force some things to go through quickly. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There are a lot of amazing experts at WDI, and Ritesh knows everything you might want for the project. However, you should also be clear about your expectations and goals. Otherwise, it’s going to be difficult for them to meet your needs. In our engagement, I’ve always been clear about my expectations, and I’ve always received what I want — that’s the best recipe for this partnership.

This further helps with users' pensions and other functionalities, providing a calculated score based on a proprietary algorithm. The technologies used were WordPress, HTML, CSS, JQuery.

When it comes to their skills from a technical standpoint, I have had no problem with the deliverables they have put forth. The project has gone smoothly and has been exactly what I desired! If you are looking for a web development firm, I cannot recommend WDI highly enough!
