Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a yoga instructor and yoga retreat leader based in Guachaca near the popular tourist destination Tayrona Park, on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. I'm a sole trader / freelance instructor, but am looking to bring in partners, build retreat offerings and offer online yoga instruction & videos as soon as possible

For what projects/services did your company hire Wave Web Design?

Wave Web Design first consulted with me about my business needs now and for the future plan, and started with a discussion around brand colors and typography for the website. Since I couldn't afford logo work, the branding work was just for the website, and a small favicon design was thrown in for free for use on social profiles, but not on the website.

The designer gave consultancy services for business name and domain name based on SEO principles, and delivered webpage designs and then did the web development for the website. Hosting was provided, plus email setup, Google analytics, Email forwarding with domain name intact for replying, and various other technical admin.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The web designer did some marketing work for a friend of mine who was really happy with the results and so he recommended her to me. Once I got talking to her, I realized that she really understood my needs and was able to do something practical within my small budget.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The final site has 3 pages with a supporting privacy page which includes the homepage showcasing all services and the location and contact options. There's a retreat page with 2 dropdowns for complex areas, and my bio page showing my qualifications and focus. Because wifi in my area is very spotty, I use WhatsApp heavily, and automated Whatsapp messaging was also built into the site, plus contact forms which auto-forward to my retreat locations for automation of the booking process with the retreat location reception.

The 300 visitors per month, mainly from the USA, which is my target market, is a big surprise, given that I didn't pay for SEO, and haven't yet done any marketing outside of my Instagram account, which doesn't push traffic to the site In posts yet. Linktree was also set up from my Instagram to link to various points of interest where I want my customers to click through to. This is the review I wrote for the Wave Web Design website - "Wow, I really love what you've done with that homepage, it's super elegant - that's beautiful, and I'm in love with the color scheme, the menu, and the links are also superb - that's definitely who I am and what I'm trying to capture. I like the copy you've written, it sounds great...you are a godsend"

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

In my area the wifi is on and off and can be really slow, so the designer was pretty patient and we set up a meeting around once a month or as needed e.g. when a design review discussion was important

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Before I met Rachael, I was really struggling to get my business idea up and running and I was just totally lost really. Rachael brought in all her business and technology knowledge to advise me and then designed a site that I totally love, and think really represents me and what I do. it also does that in a really clean and simple way which shows what I offer exactly, just under the main header on the homepage

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The project cost is always a major concern for me, but since the standard of living is so different between Colombia and Europe, I can't complain, since Rachael was working for 1/3rd of her normal rates.

I'm a co-owner of a Berlin based construction company

For what projects/services did your company hire Wave Web Design, and what were your goals?

We hired Wave Web Design to build us an affordable, SEO focussed basic website. The goals where that it would be easy to use, very cheap to create and maintain and bring in leads via SEO

The owner is a personal friend, and I'm well aware of the capabilities, that being an SEO expert who could provide a very affordable solution

Scope of work was 1 website with various pages including a homepage and contact form, impressum, resources page and we were advised to have a blog centred around our projects, tagged by service type for SEO purposes. Project steps - We had an initial consultation where we were advised on best approach within our budget and the main content was drafted out.

As we don't prefer google products, the technology used was a wordpress site with bluehost hosting including basic email which was later updated to the next plan up at our request.

We had one designer consult with us right through the project, who was the business owner and an expert in UX

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We now receive regular requests via the website from various interested parties. The site is easy for us to update with new projects with photos and tagged words within the service areas which we worked out in collaboration with the designer.

Being carpenters, we're not very technical and we had quite casual meetings. Wave Web Design set up a team meeting with us several times to discuss the branding style of the site, and then to train us on how to upload our projects and photos. The site was delivered quickly

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team's approach was carefully tailored to our needs from the start. We wanted a specific brand look, which they achieved on a very small budget. Our main objective has been kept in mind - namely how we should structure our online presence in order to get the most business contacts. The technological aspects of the job were explained to us in a way that we understood, and we are very satisfied with the website.

We'll continue to work with Wave Web Design going forward.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. We had a tiny budget, so can't complain!
