Since our company started, Pinpoint Limited has branched out to new industries. We develop all our products in-house, install the systems onsite, provide maintenance in conjunction with the customer.
For this engagement, we wanted to put a new spin on and add value to our existing technology. As the senior design engineer, I’m responsible for a portion of existing and new products.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Waracle?
Our app initially arose from our consistent commitment to innovation. Since we first hired Waracle to build an Android app, we most recently engaged them to augment our existing app with an iOS version.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our company recently rebranded. Initially, we built the Android app as a proof of concept. Waracle applied our new brand guidelines to an app for iOS. This version enabled us to roll out a much nicer aesthetic that highlights our new branding application.
The team’s skilled UX designers reconfigured the backend to include statistics and a new notification system. They have also been quite involved in the frontend design, verification, and feedback.
Waracle supported us from start to finish. They also ran testing, which is utterly vital in our industry.
What is the team composition?
The team working on this project included 10 or fewer people. Waracle assigned us a UX designer, a project manager, two iOS developers, and a testing specialist.
How did you come to work with Waracle?
We’ve established an excellent working relationship and are in nearly constant contact about our ongoing projects.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent around £30,000 (approximately $39,436 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
After reengaging Waracle, we worked together on the iOS app from May–December 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The timescale in which Waracle delivered the iOS app was fantastic. It took an entirely reasonable amount of time. The quality of their work has been great. The aesthetics of the new version are a fantastic improvement over the previous iteration.
Everyone from our company was blown away. Our marketing manager was especially happy with the user interaction side of their deliverable.
How did Waracle perform from a project management standpoint?
Waracle excelled at project management. We have absolutely no complaints. They went through very in-depth testing, which is an essential factor for us.
This process ensured the app conformed to our expectations and aligned with the previous version’s standards as well. Waracle was quite accommodating about meeting our requirements.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate that I can always drop by their office to see the team in person. They’ve integrated our feedback from last time. We have much to look forward to. They are quite open with us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not at this time. Overall, we are really pleased with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Planning is essential. Thinking through the scope and all the details from the beginning will help you avoid complications further down the line. If you give Waracle a clear plan, they will achieve your goals.
