VStorm had such experience, had a lot of IT specialists and expertise in the field of data science. The goal of GlucoActive is to create a complex system in the field of medical technology that uses machine learning and other methods of analysis. For this high-tech data management system to gather, store, share, and analyze data, it needs powerful software.

The objective is to better manage data, facilitate the R&D process (both for the current device and those in the future), including support for data analysis, and maximize the quality of the resulting data. Recruitment off the house is to make the company more flexible, reduce paperwork, become cost-effective, and never sacrifice quality.

We had a dedicated development team consisting of junior python developers, a senior python developer, and people supporting the management of the processes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This project was done for internal support of our proprietary, patent-pending technology. Therefore, due to intellectual property protection, we do not want to share deeper details. However, the project's outcome was aligned with our assumptions and expectations and was a full success without delays or obstacles.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective - outsourced developers became regular members of the project team for the whole duration of the project and participated in all our meetings and other initiatives. Moreover, they were part of the process of designing the system architecture and solving many project problems.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Flexibility in adapting to project requirements and time flexibility (selecting different hourly ranges for different developers). A large selection of industry experts, easy and effective communication with the customer. Knowledge of many good practices in the field of software development also allowed us to learn a lot.

By making use of the Ecommerce API documentation, the goal was to get all Order data synchronized to BigQuery. One of the requirements was that this data was synchronized swiftly: preferable a direct connection. Moreover, a historic import was part of this project as well, so our data team could directly make use of the data in BQ.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

By launching the application it enabled us to get better insights on our company data, which makes it possible for us to make analysis that were impossible before.

We use Slack for communication, and get a two-weekly report of the number of hours spent on each task. New projects and feedback is reported mostly by chat, but occasional calls are part of it as well.

They came up with unfamiliar solutions, but they've worked well! 

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

When we launched, we hit some limitations of the Ecommerce platform (rate limits of API). Had we known before, we could have taken steps beforehand. This was solved eventually.

VStorms delivery is - due to the scrum and the sprints - very systematic. They are transparent in what they do and who does it and how many hours it takes. In case of emergency - bugs in live version - they are ready to work evenings and weekends to solve the problem.
