The video agency VIVEN GmbH carries out goal-oriented and creative projects for agencies, companies, TV and film.

The living and creative is our video agency’s DNA. The basis of our work lies in emotional storytelling combined with extraordinary moving images. Our focus lies in narrative projects. Creativity, agility and our results-oriented approach make us who we are.

The creative video agency VIVEN GmbH was founded in 2017 by Sebastian Cepeda in Zurich, Switzerland. Sebastian has many years of experience in the national and international video and film business. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he moved to Switzerland in 2001 and has lived in Zurich ever since. As a result, Sebastian knows both film cultures very well and can take on different perspectives in his work. Before founding VIVEN GmbH, Sebastian worked as a freelance film producer and Director of Photography for various national and international feature films, commercials, TV shows (including Swiss radio and television, Pro7, etc.), image films and corporate films. If required, he can draw on a broad network.

In short, we are storytellers, producers, filmmakers, content creators, cinema and music lovers. We believe that better stories have to be told and we do that with you, our customers.

SENNHEISER - Success Story TCC2

The aim of this project was to address the challenges and problems that can be successfully mastered with the help of the SENNHEISER TeamConnect Ceiling 2 Microphone (TCC2). Above all, it was important to make it clear that the user-friendly handling of the SENNHEISER product makes everyday work much easier and that the highest level of quality can be expected. In addition to the technical advantages of the TCC2, we wanted to

highlight the stylish design, which allows the microphone to be integrated perfectly into its surroundings.

 

 

NILE – Spring Campaign 2020

The main goal of this project was to portray different looks of the fashion company’s latest spring collection through appealing moving images. We wanted to give the customers a natural insight into NILE’s sustainably produced fashion creations.

VIVEN’s task was to produce several fashion videos, all capable of conveying a casual, relaxed and happy atmosphere, matching the feelings we associate with spring. The fashion

videos were intended to be used on NILE’s social media channels Instagram and Facebook as well as on their Website.

CALDA CLINIC - Imagefilm

The aim of this project for CALDA CLINIC was to produce an image film of a different kind. Through stirring storytelling we wanted to give an intimate insight into the emotional journey of a patient. The idea was to show the audience different fears, memories and desires of the protagonist through a dream sequence.

ANYbotics – Product Release Video – ANYmal C

ANYbotics is one of the leading developers in the field of mobile robotics. Their four-legged, autonomous robots are able to perform tasks that were reserved only for humans. Our job was to produce a product launch video for ANYbotics, in which the various functions and skills of their new robot ANYmal C would be presented in an appealing way. 

To present ANYmal C in a fitting environment, VIVEN carried out the shooting

of this production in the machine room of ETH Zurich and in the facilities of ANYbotics in Oerlikon. This allowed real conditions to be created which ANYmal C could face in future missions. In addition to the footage showing the robot at work, the aesthetic design of the ANYmal C was captured in the lab of ANYbotics that we turned into a studio. ANYbotics used our video at the World Robot Conference 2019 in Beijing for the introduction of ANYmal C. The video was also published on social media channels of ANYbotics and on their website.

SIGG – Run Swiss – Commercial

The drinking bottle and sportswear manufacturer SIGG launched its latest clothing line in China and wanted to position itself in the Chinese market. Swissness, which is very well received by Chinese consumers, should be highlighted in particular. The aim was to convince all sports enthusiasts with a commercial that would convey lifestyle, sport and Swissness.

PHILIPS - Who cooks better than René Schudel?

Philips Switzerland wanted to bring its kitchen appliances Airfryer, Pastamaker and hand blender closer to the hobby chefs in Switzerland through video storytelling with current references via social channels. Under the motto “Who cooks better than René Schudel?”, hobby chefs were given the opportunity to cook against René Schudel themselves in order to prove their culinary skills.

BUCHI – Corporate Film – Pure

The internationally leading laboratory technology provider BÜCHI wanted to implement a B2B online commercial for it's new product PURE. The main target group were international researchers. It was important that the advantages of the product and the ease of use were highlighted through entertaining storytelling.

An exact beard shave is only fun with the professional shaver, the Philips OneBlade. Using funny social media videos combined with a competition for the target group, men between 18 and 60, the advantages of the Philips OneBlade shaver were to be highlighted and the target group encouraged to interact.

I’m a project manager and communications strategist for a branding and market research company. We create communications solutions for clients.

We were trying to make our social media more engaging for our market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handled a full-service video production, targeting a specific audience. We filmed on location with live actors. In total, we shot two storylines in four different formats. There was no dialog, so they added music while editing. They handled everything from content creation to screening actors to post-production.  

What is the team composition?

They had a team of about 10 people.  

How did you come to work with VIVEN Ltd.?

I found them through a Google search and checked out their portfolio. They had the criteria that I was looking for, so we hired them based on the quality of our early conversations. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between ₣40,000–₣50,000 (approximately $40,890–$51,113 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2019, and our work together is ongoing. We’re looking to start up our next project soon.

They did effective project planning and perfect execution. Their team has been very precise, often showing flexibility to meet changing deadlines and scope. They ended up delivering more than they were originally expected to and made small edits for free. We communicated over Skype and shared Excel sheets.

Siemens Switzerland used to work with VIVEN before. The agency understands the needs of the client and brings up creative ways of storytelling. They know how to explain difficult things in an easy and entertaining way. We are very happy with the work of VIVEN and will work with them again.

OpenSea hired VIVEN Ltd. for two projects so far:

The first one, was to produce a commercial sport for An iconic swiss running gear brand purchased by a Chinese group, looking to promote the brand in the Chinese market.

The second project was the local production for a pilot (teaser trailer) for a TV Series pitch to NETFLIX.

What were your goals for this project?

In the first project, RUNSWISS the goal was to deliver a TV commercial spot for the SIGG brand in China, featuring the Swissnes of the brand in the iconic city of Zurich.

The movie showcases two running models jogging in the city. The Teaser to NETFLIX (Grupo Secuoya) presents the first episode of the first season of a new TV Series project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After an intense research of potential service providers in Zurich and in Switzerland, I found the VIVEN GmbH website and started digging intro their case studies. They seemed very profesional on the website, therefore I contacted them and arranged a personal meeting in their offices I studio in the city.

After my first meeting with Sebastian, my impression was even better. His inputs were always wise with a creative and realistic approach to every challenge.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

For RUNSWISS we worked under pressure. We received plenty of clothing and looks from Shanghai, so before the shooting we spent an entire day trying the different options with the actors / models wich were selected by VIVEN. The client from China was very strict with the guidelines.

VIVEN did a great job selecting the right models and the best different outfits for the shooting. We planned two days os shooting in some of the most iconic locations of the city, from the old town to the beautiful forests out of the city. All this location scouting was perfectly done by VIVEN.

Two days of filming, from the very early morning to very late at night, using the most advanced technical equipment. Everything was very well planned and Sebastian and all his team always with a great positive attitude and smile.

VIVEN completed the editing, receiving feed back from China, and the spot was completed right in time for a big event in Shanghai, presenting the SIGG running brand in the most important fair in Asía.

For the NETFLIX Series pilot, once again VIVEN team showed a great capacity to work fast in the most professional way, delivering an amazing job wich can de seen upon request.

Very satisfied for both.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

RUNSWISS Spot is being used in many shops and corners in their retail network in China, in fairs and events, enhancing the swiss origings of the brand to the Chinese market.

The NETFLIX pilot has been and still is the most effective promotional tool to present a very challenging sports project not only to the OTT but also to many commercial and institutional partners involved.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective as things has to be in audiovisual production. On this business you don´t want to improvisse, thus experience and trust is key. VIVEN Ltd. offers their full commitment, experience, and great creative ideas to everything they do. At least that is my experience after two project working with them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their quick reaction, their problem solving orientation. They always look for excellence, from the smallest detail to the biggest picture.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Maybe if they were bigger they could deliver more projects, but I think VIVEN is more about quality than volume. They are a boutique agency, I would say. Maybe better to remain small and focused in high quality service.
