Square Online - Commercial Launch
We teamed up with Square to promote their Online Store product following Square's acquisition of Weebly. The result was an upbeat, mixed-media adventure which relied strongly on the perfect balance between product and market profile. The challenge for this project was to provide insight into the online store product, but not in a way that would resemble a typical UI-walkthrough…
We maintained that an upbeat approach combined with an insight into different market verticals would be the right way forward. We combined the online elements of UI, app and delivery and represented this using animation, simplified layout design, and in-app video.

Spotify Anchor - Explainer Video
We teamed up with Spotify to create a high-quality animated explainer video to increase conversion of new prospects for their new product — Anchor.
Our animation presents Anchor as it join in partnership with Spotify, bringing its suite of tools for podcast creation, distribution, and monetization, to Spotify’s community of more than 200 million global users. As well as providing valuable insights to power Spotify podcasts.
2D animation was all produced using Illustrator and Adobe AfterEffects, with storyboards all drawn by hand.

Airtable - Software Walkthrough
We teamed up with Airtable to create a set of five product tour videos that could also serve as templates for their team to use in future projects. The direction was based on UI abstraction and the use of colours for a modern and fresh outcome.
When working with a complex & powerful platform such as Airtable prioritisation is key to ensure the features can be communicated throughout the video and viewers had time to focus on each one.
Airtable has a wide colour palette, we leveraged these throughout the video keeping it modern and fresh whilst taking care not to overuse these colours. To achieve this we kept the UI and backgrounds minimal and utilised pops of colour throughout.
Research was key when approaching a project for such a bespoke company. We reviewed previous brand videos and assets, as well as current brand guidelines to ensure the video remained bespoke, engaging and yet closely branded.

UberEats - Explainer Animation
Uber approached us to produce their new explainer video for the UberEats restaurant dashboard. The project is now being distributed across 27 different countries, alongside multiple translations.
The insights that we learned throughout the project are important, as you’ll be able to quickly iterate on design styles, illustrations, and motion graphics in a way that reduces your overall production time, and increases the final quality of your animated video content.
If you’re animating any UI in a video under 60-90 seconds, you should be simplifying close to 80% of the actual app or product dashboard. We don’t use the actual product because promotional videos move very quickly, and you’ll find that when you add components like music, voiceover and motion, that the viewing experience quickly becomes very crowded.

Koala - Brand Video: Never Uncomfortable
We teamed up with Koala for the fifth time to create a 2:30min long-form ad to be distributed in full length through Youtube Pre-Roll Ads, and in shorter cutdowns through Facebook and Instagram.
This project was significant. It represented the first time that Koala would be known as a wider furniture company, and not just a mattress brand with a single product.
There’s a tonne of furniture companies who have already saturated the market across television and Youtube — we needed a way to stand out with a clear differentiation in both offering, tone and brand values. Our mission was to do this in the most hilarious and memorable way possible.
That’s when the idea for Never Uncomfortable was born. The campaign addresses how the comfort of Koala’s furniture can help make ‘uncomfortable’ subjects like bedroom performance, unexpected pregnancy, and coming out to your parents — feel better.
The campaign was Koala’s most cost-efficient in terms of lifting purchase consideration, and following their brand uplift study, Koala had an overall lift in Positive Response Rate of 20%, which is massive, considering where Koala sits in the market.
It simply outperformed work that is likely 4-5x the budget — there’s a huge value component that both teams figured out when it comes to long-form content.
For low-differentiation products like mattresses, we attribute a lot of that success to how largely differentiated their creative and marketing is. This might seem easy but it’s really not.

Temple & Webster - TVC Campaign
T&W approached us to produce an extensive online campaign via Youtube and broader social channels. The project had 335% increase in brand recall and drove all other areas of brand awareness in a steep upward trend.
Temple & Webster is Australia’s number 1 online retailer of furniture and homewares.
We teamed up with this amazing team after identifying opportunities to produce brand video assets to run a concurrent TVC campaign and an extensive online campaign via Youtube and broader social channels.
The campaign coincides with a 300%+ increase in unprompted advertising recall, with the TVC the major driver of the increase.
- More than half of those who recalled recent T&W advertising described the TVC in a clearly recognisable way.
- Of the small number who mentioned a TVC but gave no description almost all recognised the TVC when shown it.
The TVC campaign had an overall strong result with a substantial increase in brand awareness as well as measurable improvements on other brand health metrics.
This is confirmed by the fact that this improvement is only seen among those viewers who recognised the TVC.
- Overall, about two in 5 consumers in the targeted TV markets recognise the TVC, with a slightly stronger result for free-to-air markets.
- Reflecting this, free-to-air advertising accounts for about 80% of TVC’s reach.

Digital Ocean - Explainer Animation
Digital Ocean needed to launch its new product — App Platform. They wanted a very high-level, all-encompassing narrative approach to show all the things that App Platform could do for their developer customers.
In 2020, Digital Ocean was launching a new product called App Platform — which enables developers to build, deploy, and scale apps quickly using a simple, fully managed solution.
The product had gone through many stages, many ups and downs. With each up and down, it quickly snowballed into a huge product entree. Pretty much the biggest product launch they’d potentially had in years.
As with any major product launch at any company, Digital Ocean required an equally large marketing rollout.
Their team decided that an explainer animation would be the best content asset to accomplish a very high-level, all-encompassing narrative approach to show developers all the product features.

Bailey Nelson - Brand Video
We teamed up with Aussie-eyewear brand Bailey Nelson to develop their first defining brand statement using a delightfully colourful video. The brand campaign obtained 40% increase in branded search with Youtube describing the result as ‘best-in-class’.
Bailey Nelson is on a mission to bring joy to eye care by keeping quality high and prices low so their customers can turn a prescription into a celebration.
They wanted to get on Australian people’s radar and really had recall — playing safe wasn’t an option. The competition is strong and is hard to differentiate so the real opportunity laid in creating a really strong brand story that showed Bailey Nelson’s unique personality.
We developed a straightforward concept with a mix of elements: a nice tension point to kick-off and capture attention, funny examples of the BN product in use to show their place in the customer’s life and a good way to sledge competitors.
Creative without measurable results is just fruitless. Bailey Nelson ran a brand uplift test through Youtube and the results were about as good as have been seen by the team over at Google HQ.
- +97% Brand Awareness Lift (best in class)
- +3,617% Google Search Lift (best in class)
Thanks to the privilege to shoot long-form, the campaign included five consideration and conversion cutdowns plus the suite of statics for display ensuring the full funnel was kept a priority.

mParticle - App Video
We partnered with mParticle to create an App video to strengthen the company and specific product messaging, increase conversion of new prospects and communicate the core product's value proposition and features from a high level.
We positioned the creative from the user’s perspective, almost giving a dynamic and guided tour to the viewer of how to use the mParticle interface, with a combination of bold typography, motion design, and transitions as well as real-life screen recordings. We wanted to put the viewer in the driver’s seat of what was possible with mParticle.

Cascade - Brand Video
Cascade needed to reintroduce its brand to a market that values tradition and structure. They tasked us to produce a brand video that represents a brand that's fun, ambitious and bold. Not the usual B2B approach.
Cascade is a strategy acceleration platform where teams plan and execute together. It unites everyone from start to finish bringing ideas to life and helping teams get better results, faster.
They wanted to disrupt its market by questioning some of its principles and stand out with a brand that’s fun, ambitious, bold and clear.
We teamed up with this amazing team to create something funny and real. A narrative that could show all the taboos and complexity behind creating a strategy with a storyline everyone could easily relate to. The direction consisted of a human-centred approach with a few animated UI elements to enhance messaging.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Digital Designer for a software company with a focus on website design and working with clients to design and build their ecommerce websites.
For what projects/services did your company hire Vidico, and what were your goals?
The company is revamping the website with new branding and overall refresh. We wanted to include motion graphics and animation to better articulate what the company offers, its vision and technology.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
N/A
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
I came into the project a bit later but still had the change to meet the Vidico team and kick-off the project. The initial kick-off was great. The Vidico team were very open and effective in explaining their roles, outlining the project and setting expectations from them and us. I feel everyone worked very effectively. We kept up with deadlines and Vidico did as well which made the process run smoothly.
The 2 rounds of edits were good to have as we often missed a few things in round one or something seemed off with the edit and but we still had the opportunity to fix it. Vidico was also very accomodating when we decided to change the concept last minute, which we appreciate very much. Overall the Vidico team have been amazing to work with and I am excited to work on future projects with them.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We initially started working with Keith who was great, and Bridget took over soon after. Bridget has been fantastic to work with. She was always quick to respond, clear in what she needed from us, and always open to feedback. Bridget has been a key person in the seamless running of this project. In terms of feedback - Boords and frame.io made it super easy to provide feedback. Also shout out to the animator who worked on our graphics! They are very talented and we are so happy with the outcome.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are currently implementing the animations throughout our site which it to go live soon. Internally the teams love it.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We mostly communicated through Slack. Bridget was always quick to respond and accomodating.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Great communication. They are open to ideas and provide quality execution.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There were times where we leaned on Vidico to come up with concepts when we were stuck with suggestions. On some animations, the concepts they came up with lacked a little imagination and looked too similar to what they had already done for other ones in the set. I found I'd have to suggest a new concept in the end. Maybe push the boundaries a bit for next time. We rely on them for some of the ideation as they are the experts.

Linode (now part of Akamai) is an alternative cloud infrastructure host which offers linux cloud computing products, robust cloud storage and cloud database products, as well as state-of-the-art security tools. Deploy an application or a virtual machine in minutes, or build your own private cloud on the host which does not lock you in
For what projects/services did your company hire Vidico, and what were your goals?
We wanted to highlight our brand's new look-and-feel, and really emphasize the choice in the Cloud market, which I think Vidico did especially well.
How did you select Vidico and what were the deciding factors?
We have worked with Vidico before and the results were awesome.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
The video is a 30s walkthrough of Linode's tenets, and why we are the best choice in the Alternative Cloud _or_ Hyperscaler set. Vidico does an excellent job of breaking steps in the process down, from sketching to storyboarding to final animation. There is never any confusion about approval, which is appreciated.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I worked with several members of the Vidico team over time, and each one was professional, thorough, and accessible.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We haven't put it in market quite yet, but so far, developers have responded very well to it. We were looking to specifically target a nerdier audience than most tend to talk to, and I feel like we've managed to do that.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Lots of visual commenting tools and thorough walkthroughs on explanations.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are so communicative! That is a great aspect when you're working on something so important to the expression or success of the brand. I've felt like I am involved at every step.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Timelines can be very tight for someone who is managing several projects at once — I felt like I was constantly against deadline to keep things moving, when I had to herd together several people on my end who have very disparate schedules.

I'm Head of User Experience for Ocado Technology. We provide an end to end platform for grocery retailers around the world to expand their business online.
For what projects/services did your company hire Vidico, and what were your goals?
We wanted to bring the vision for our product to life with a video, something more engaging than a slide deck. Our goals were to offer a short & condensed preview of our product strategy, in a format that can be easily shared around.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Found them on youtube when looking for animated videos and I selected them based on their portfolio.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We had an initial meeting and a rough quote. Then they provided their process through a dropbox doc, and we followed it: script, voice over, illustration, and video. With 2 rounds of feedback each time.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I worked with Erin mostly, and the feedback process was super easy.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Very clear, transparent and effective communications, especially needed as we are in London and they are in Australia.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The quality of the output was impressive. Still makes me shiver.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Perhaps be more realistic with timelines. The project ended up taking 2 months more than we initially discussed.

I'm the Managing Director at Gauge, a tech platform that puts brands and organizations in conversation with leading cultural voices, to help drive towards better, more inclusive, more affirming products, services, campaigns, and creative content.
For what projects/services did your company hire Vidico, and what were your goals?
We hired Vidico to create a brand spot for NXTLAB, our flagship product, which we launched in the spring of 2021.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I was impressed by the quality of the samples on Vidico's website. The examples were fresh, clean, simple and dynamic -- exactly what we were looking for.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
Vidico led us through a complete process, from conceptualization to actualization, including storyboarding, scripting, animation, social cut-downs, etc.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I initially worked with Michael Eason, who helped us get started. I then worked briefly with Keith, and most consistently with Riley when we got into the details of execution. The only thing as impressive as Vidico's output was their process. Every step and stage is clearly laid out, and their communication is consistent and flawless. Each email includes a list of actions requested, what to expect next, and easy links for review/ commenting/ etc. Absolutely nothing felt clunky or inefficient. I was extremely impressed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We haven't publicly released the video yet, but will do so shortly. We're over the moon about the quality of the finished product, particularly given the complexity of the ideas we're looking to communicate.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Flawless. Timely, thorough, simple, excellent.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was most impressed that their creative excellence equally matched their attention to process and detail. It's unusual to find both of these in the same package. It's one of the best vendor experiences I've ever had.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Can't think of a single thing! We found that we were better off doing the scripting portion ourselves, but this had been our expectation from the start.

I'm a marketing specialist for an online education provider.
For what projects/services did your company hire Vidico, and what were your goals?
We wanted a more visually engaging way to reach and connect with potential students in an increasingly noisy world. We wanted to stand out from our competitors and provide information in an easily digestible manner while maintaining audience interest.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The quality of work within their portfolio was some of the best we had seen. They were flexible with our needs and open to any suggestions we put forward.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We had an extended process due to quite significant approval processes required throughout the entire process. I appreciate that Vidico were extremely understanding of this added level of difficulty.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked predominantly with the animation producer. The approach to applying feedback was extremely easy through the programs they used, the only note I had was that at times the feedback wasn't stored from one version to the next so at times was a little difficult to confirm if all changes were implemented.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are yet to release our videos into the wild, so have no outcomes or results to share as yet.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The animation manager had been wonderful in communicating progress, expectations, next steps and timelines. They always offered to jump on a call for topics that required deeper discussion but most of the time email was all that was required.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I appreciated they had multiple animation styles on offer and that level of quality that was produced regardless of which style was chosen was impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only thing I would flag is ensuring the clients are aware of all that's involved, how things operate, and all the finer details. Some client's who are new to this may not know about what questions to ask or what to confirm, so Vidico as the experts should ensure there is understanding and transparency.

How did you select Vidico?
My manager at the time did research to find Vidico. I believe we were referred.

We told Vidico what we were looking for and they gave us three options as a proposal. We shared edits, and then we got to see a prototype of the finished video and made final comments before getting the entire package.
