The team we worked with are 5 member. They are UX Designer, Backend developer, android developer, Quality Analyst, Project coordinator. All of the team members are nice and their communication was good.

The app was delivered on time, and we continue to see the constant growth of downloads and users. Overall, I'm happy with the result Versatile Mobitecth Pvt Ltd worked more efficiently and provided higher quality.

Project Management was very impressive. They updated me daily regarding project. Their workflow was very effective and smooth. It was always easy to connect with them. The project manager assigned was very knowledgeable and assisted throughout the project phase.

The most impressive thing about Versatile Mobitech is their high knowledge of mobile app and website development.

They were really impressive. I think there is nothing to say.

I’m the CEO of a startup called HealthX Technologies AB which is based in Stockholm, Sweden. We have built a telemedicine application.

We needed someone to help us with mobile app development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

There were multiple components involved as we required the app to be developed for Android and iOS, as well as backend development support.

We gave them all the screenshots and requirements, and they took care of the development. They developed the mobile app, including the backend in addition to the backend server. They’ve also deployed it. They used a MEAN stack which included Node.js, AngularJS, as well as MongoDB.

What is the team composition?

There are four people who work with us. One person worked on Android, another worked on iOS, one individual worked on the backend, and another teammate handled the server and frontend.

How did you come to work with Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd?

I found them through a personal reference as I know someone who knew them. Being a startup, it can be a little difficult to finance so we needed to have pretty good quality for a reasonable price and Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd was a good match for us.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in the beginning of 2019, and the work is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of the code came out well given the price. We do the quality control on-site here and the quality has varied. Sometimes we get excellent quality but sometimes it can drop a little — it depends on the resource who is doing the work. There are a lot of good points from their support, but there are also things they can improve on.

How did Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is a bit weak on their side. They have good tech people who can solve any kind of challenging problem, but the project management team and coordination could be improved. We set up all the communication through Jira and we also have a WhatsApp group and use email. When it comes to deadlines, there are off by a few days here and there, but they usually meet our timeline. 

However, we’re paying comparatively less than average so we have been doing the project management mostly ourselves. As far as managing the code, solving tasks, and setting up a project, they aren’t the best and could be improved. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They will deliver. No matter what task you give them, they will do the research, develop it, and then deliver.

Are there any areas they could improve?

An area to improve is the project and code management. Even though we’re paying less than average, the management is below par there and out of 10, they are at a five. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend interviewing the resource before onboarding them onto the project. I would probably pay a little more and make sure you know how they will manage the project because their technical team is strong, but project management is weak.

I would advise anyone to interview the project manager and choose that person. If I was to start a new project, I would make sure that I have a project manager that I have approved and not let them assign one.

Both the applications in Android and iOS worked without any errors and lag issues. We were very much impressed with the outcome. In the last few weeks, we’ve submitted the app to iTunes and Google Play and on-boarded our initial users. The user feedback has been very positive.

We used to receive weekly reports with updates about the project. Also, we were closely connected with the entire team to discuss and execute the project effectively. A project coordinator is always available to take discuss any issues we faced on a daily basis.

I’m an executive at Yuvee Brainstorm, a travel logistics company. We optimize the way corporate transportation is happening across India.

What challenge were you trying to address with Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd?

We saw the opportunity in the market and wanted to organize the resources so we’d get optimum routing for the way corporate transportation is currently done.

Most of the process is broken up, and we wanted to automate that. I needed someone to develop the front-and backend of my web and mobile apps.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The overall solution was supposed to be developed by FusionX, and FusionX outsourced this product to Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. 

So, for me, FusionX was one point of contact. However, there were a lot of payment issues between FusionX and Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. This made Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. stop its work with FusionX. 

I entered into an agreement with Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. to expedite the product and finish the remaining work, which was basically 30% of the project. We were supposed to pay a certain amount upfront, and they would finish tasks within a month.

However, they took the money and never delivered the work. It’s been over six months, and they’ve only finished 5% of what they were supposed to do. Now, they’re blackmailing me to give them equal money to finish up the work for the iOS application that’s pending at their end. 

They stopped working on my project even when my payment was 100% on time, in advance. This happened in January of 2019 for reasons not known to me.

FusionX told me the product would be handled by Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. To expedite the product, I needed to coordinate with Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. directly. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with FusionX in 2017. I learned that I was working with Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. in June of 2018, and that continued until January of 2019.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

This engagement has impacted the delivery of my solutions. I lost almost all of my initial prospects (three clients that were asking me to implement the solution). Those clients aren’t going ahead with us since we haven’t been able to deliver the solution.

How was project management handled?

I really had to push a lot to learn status updates. They were pretty bad at communication from the middle of 2018 onwards.

They tried to avoid meeting in-person and having calls. The owner will always try to avoid the calls as he’d rather text. They seem to not have any fear of the law or of any fear of following legal contracts. 

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

No, there’s nothing positive to say about Versatile Mobitech Pvt Ltd. Since the day they came into the picture, the product got delayed by almost a year. 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Any future user should ensure they’re doing first-hand reference checks for these developers because they take on outsourced projects from a lot of other companies.

If you’re going directly or indirectly to them, be careful, they may end up holding back your work to give them extra money. If you don’t give them the extra money, they might not deliver the code or finish the work.
