About 6 years ago, we started to implement Odoo ERP in our company, mainly to restructure our warehouse processes and purchase or kind of automate our purchases. And connecting online shops to our ERP, we connected to Magento 2. Multi-shop setup with a full connector importing the orders and exchanging data, we were implementing a PIM system for our product information management, for the online shops, and in the beginning, we started working with a German Odoo partner, who was rolling out Odoo Erp in our company and we were.
Half year later, we started facing difficulties with customizations and our Odoo partner finally told us that they are not able to comply with our requirements and they couldn't finish the project properly, so we were looking for alternatives. We got in contact with VentorTech and we're shifting the whole ERP and online-shop project to VentorTech which worked well and we are working together for five years very successfully.
I would do it again; we were significantly saving and realizing savings in our operation. For example in our warehouse we are operating with less than 50 % of our warehouse staff, before the implementation we are processing almost double the amount of orders, everything processes are streamlined, and we are hardly printing any paper anymore we don't print invoices, we don't print picking slips, everything is done on Ventor app on our Mobile Android devices, which we use in the warehouse, even manufacturing processes and taxation processes for our tobacco goods.
Everything is completely digital and for us, it was a huge improvement in the way we work and our efficiency, and we would do it again. It was a great project and we are still people who continue working together. Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of Kitchen and Bath Global Partners. We’re a software company that has developed a system for kitchen and bath dealers in the US. The new platform is a CRM with many integrations and APIs with QuickBooks on the backend.

What challenge were you trying to address with VentorTech?
We needed help with custom software and mobile application development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
VentorTech has been our software development partner from the get-go. They initially did their due diligence to understand our industry. In the discovery phase, we worked with them to determine the best platform for the project and landed on Odoo. VentorTech outlined our needs and what we wanted to achieve, and they took it from there.
Even past phase one, we’ve provided them with documentation that outlines all the business flows and things we need to do so VentorTech can get a good visual of where they’re going and build accordingly. One of our core features is the ability to integrate with 2020 Design Live, which 95% of our clients use as their design software.
The team has worked on design and development. They’ve built the app for iOS and Android. VentorTech has built the app’s ability to attach products after uploading the design and making them into quotes. We can attach pictures of the items to put them in front of the customers and get a digital signature from them. Additionally, it generates POS for all those products; it’s fully automated to save time.
What is the team composition?
We’ve had anywhere from 3–6 teammates assigned to our account, depending on where we are in the process. If we have to do many things simultaneously, VentorTech allocates the resources.
How did you come to work with VentorTech?
We found them through a referral. One of our key developers worked with VentorTech before. He had his own business, and then he passed the baton to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We’re probably at the $1 million mark.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in January 2018, and our relationship is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The main metric in our industry is margin erosion; it measures how everything is running. When jobs are quoted, there’s an estimated amount of costs associated with the job. VentorTech has built the system so that anything over the budgeted amount will show the error in the reporting, which is great for our customers. In the past, everything ran through spreadsheets and manual input, but now it’s tailored, and salespeople can look at different dashboards to monitor these things. For example, if it’s a significant number like 3%, a $3 million company would lose $90,000 in margin.
Overall, VentorTech has been an integral part of our team. They know the software and our industry. We’ve really enjoyed working with VentorTech. They’ve built a strong relationship with us; we consider them friends. We talk to them regularly and ask how things are going in their lives. Although it isn’t related to the project, it builds trust, so we work better together.
How did VentorTech perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve handled the project and communication well. We have meetings about the development process, and they estimate how many hours will be needed. In most cases, the cost comes under what they initially thought.
We keep a drawing board to watch where they are; we can look at it simultaneously and enter information from our end. We communicate through phone calls, email, text, and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team’s culture is outstanding. They’re open-minded and extremely friendly. They’ve also ensured that the people they bring on their team are engaged and willing to learn more about our business.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Sometimes understanding them is challenging because there’s a language barrier, so it’s been a learning curve. However, it’s never been a critical issue; it’s barely noticeable.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ensure that you present what you want to do and give them a broad picture of what you want. Sometimes people just pick something without including how it affects the overall picture. VentorTech is good at understanding logistics, but they need a good understanding of the project when they’re building a program.
