A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Touchstone Security, a cloud and managed security provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with VantagePoint Benefit Administrators?
VantagePoint handles our HR and benefits needs.
What was the scope of their involvement?
VantagePoint does everything HR-related for me, such as my medical, dental, and vision needs. They also manage and monitor the payroll of my employees, though they don’t do mine. They’re also involved in administrative tasks and compliance management. If I need advice on employee liability, I can ask them for guidance.
Their team also uses a number of platforms to do things like harassment and corruption training in compliance with New York and New Jersey regulations. Moreover, if any of my employees have HR-related issues or questions, they go to VantagePoint. Overall, they serve as my outsourced HR team.
What is the team composition?
Around half a dozen people from their team are involved in the engagement. I have two points of contact. I can interface with their owner, but I mainly interact with an account manager.
How did you come to work with VantagePoint Benefit Administrators?
VantagePoint was a recommendation of a colleague.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve invested over $100,000 since the start of the engagement.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started engaging with VantagePoint in November 2008, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
VantagePoint has been great. From a business perspective, they have a holistic knowledge of everything relating to HR. They truly understand my perspective as a business owner. I receive the best advice I can with the way I’m running my business since they know how employer-employee relationships work. On top of that, the quality of their training and content is also excellent. They truly know what they’re talking about.
Moreover, their leadership has been phenomenal. I’ve gone to webinars and conferences where their owner has spoken. I’ve never seen anything that can match the quality of those conferences and speaking engagements. They’re a wealth of information, and VantagePoint’s owner is a thought leader and an expert in their field. Overall, their leadership is top-notch.
How did VantagePoint Benefit Administrators perform from a project management standpoint?
The team is truly organized and process-oriented. They make everything smooth and simple and follow up on things well. Moreover, they make use of automation and portals that make things easier; they leverage technology heavily.
To communicate, I either email or call them. We usually have set-and-forget interactions unless something breaks because we plan the whole year-round. It’s rare for me to talk to them other than when employees have questions or we’re onboarding new staff.
What did you find most impressive about them?
VantagePoint resources are experts; they know what they’re doing, and they truly understand the HR system.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They can set us up with a texting platform or a way in which we can communicate with them instantaneously. That would be nice.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Sign on the dotted line. Trust VantagePoint.
The company is impressed with VantagePoint Benefit Administrators’ knowledge and expertise. The team provides excellent advice and training for the firm. They’ve proven to be organized and process-oriented. They also leverage technology to the client’s advantage, resulting in great work quality.
