Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of a small startup that is trying to enhance the game of golf through gamification and technology.

For what projects/services did your company hire Vamosoft Ltd., and what were your goals?

We were looking to create a first version of a mobile application that we can launch in Germany to test the market of our service. Our main goal was to come up with a simple functioning product that includes the most important features.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were Interviewing about six development Teams before deciding to go with Vamosoft. As we are a small startup in the beginning of operation, price was obviously a tight constraint we had. Right from the beginning we had a great open communication and connection with Vamosoft. On top of that we could find common ground in regard to the budget which made the decision to go with Vamosoft fairly easy.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The overall goal of this project was to develop a first launchable version (MVP) of a mobile application for iOS and android. We started by designing mockups of the front end to develop an understanding of what processes and features are needed during the development. The Vamosoft team then created sophisticated designs from the mockups until we decided on the best suitable style. The Development of features also took place relatively fast so that we could play with a working piece of software quite early in the process. Developed features were: User log in, email verification, payment and withdrawal systems, integrated camera recording process, various account settings, legal pages, and a desktop admin panel. Most of the features were developed in a very detailed form with multiple sub functions that exceeded our expectations.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager was our main point of contact during the whole process. A team of two full stack developers and one designer were working in coordination of the project manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are now at the stage of a well-functioning, great looking application that we can launch to the market. This is exactly what we had in mind at the beginning of the project which means the feedback in regards to deliverables can only be described as highly positive.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We worked in two-week sprints where we had a planning meeting in the beginning and a retro meeting in the end. During the two weeks we communicated frequently with the project manager over slack to discuss important developments. After each sprint we could test the progress made using the TestFlight app to see if we wanted to change anything or had new ideas about incorporated features.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Most impressive thing about Vamosoft was their great interest in this project. having interest in the outcomes and trying to understand what we were trying to achieve made it possible to create an environment of collaboration and co-creation. With their level of involvement and interest in the idea it was possible to come up with important developments that we would have missed without Vamosoft.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes we had to communicate bugs multiple times before they were fixed. Structuring the way bugs get reported and fixed a bit better is something that they could improve upon.
