UI/UX Design for SaaS Company
"They followed a very detailed iterative process to ensure they delivered exactly what we needed."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO of a SaaS platform.
What challenge were you trying to address with Userfacet?
We hired Userfacet to help us with the UX/UI design of the platform we're developing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Userfacet designed the UX/UI for our web-based platform using InVision and Figma. We provided them with information about the platform, the features we wanted to include, and how we would sell it to users. As part of the process, we had multiple interactive design sessions with Userfacet. The Userfacet team compiled all the platform information and used it to frame the UX/UI — they covered everything from user onboarding to mobile usage. Once the design was finalized, our internal team took over and developed it.
What is the team composition?
A large team was working on this project, but my main point of contact was Userfacet's CEO.
How did you come to work with Userfacet?
I met Userfacet's founder at a university alumni event; I was already aware of his company's services. Before working with them, I evaluated 10 different design firms for this project and tried to work with several of them. However, none of them were up to par, so I hired Userfacet.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $20,000 with Userfacet.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Userfacet from December 2021–February 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Userfacet delivered a UX/UI design that was perfect for the platform — the UX/UI was crucial for the platform's success because it had to convey complex information in a way our users could understand. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of work Userfacet produced. They understood our end goals and connected what we wanted to share with what the user could understand.
How did Userfacet perform from a project management standpoint?
Userfacet delivered our product within our 10-week timeframe, which was fantastic — they actually delivered ahead of schedule. Their team ensured they stayed within budget. Since we used InVision, we could see the project changes in real-time. We also had in-person and phone meetings with Userfacet's team to discuss project progress.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Userfacet had fantastic response times, quality of service, and availability. It was amazing how quickly they understood our situation and what we wanted to do and then quickly assimilated it into our project. Userfacet was 100% involved with the project and was a genuine partner — they followed a very detailed iterative process to ensure they delivered exactly what we needed. Their team was as invested in the project as we were.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything for Userfacet to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I'd advise customers to treat Userfacet as a partner — their team is creative and knowledgeable enough to deliver what the customer wants without major oversight.

UI/UX Design for Healthcare Services Startup
“They were our workplace partners, and they continued to be supportive even as we moved on to the next phase.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and the COO of a new health care tech services startup launching in India later this year.
What challenge were you trying to address with Userfacet?
We hired Userfacet to conceptualize our product. They helped us do all the user research to find the market fit for our product and then translate that into a vision of an MVP and technical document.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Before we could begin working on our product, we needed to understand the user landscape of our core consumers. To do that, we needed a really in-depth, high fidelity, competitive analysis user research, which included interviews with two different kinds of consumer baselines, as well as undertaking an in-depth understanding of their needs, which were very contrasting in terms of audiences.
Userfacet started with core discovery and a research phase where they worked on our problems and tried to understand the direction based on all the user research to help define the product and the core long-term product strategy. Based on the interviews, we were able to ideate and work with Userfacet to tweak our product goals and create a product roadmap going forward into development.
What is the team composition?
We worked closely with Tanuj (CEO & Partner).
How did you come to work with Userfacet?
I found Userfacet through Clutch. I was looking for strong design agencies that specialized in UX design and discovery agencies based in India. We needed a company that had an in-depth understanding of user behavior, so we actually evaluated several potential firms that we found. Userfacet’s team seemed to understand our concept right away, so we chose them.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested somewhere around $50,000–$60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began our partnership in November 2020, and the project lasted until April 2021. It was meant to be a three-month project, but because of delays in terms of recruitment, the project extended by an extra two months. The delays were entirely on us, but Userfacet was incredibly flexible, and they were supportive the whole way.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Userfacet was great to work with. They were our workplace partners, and they continued to be supportive even as we moved on to the next phase of the project. Every step of the product creation, they gave us insight into how those decisions would also have a downstream impact as we moved into the next phase. That was really valuable, and we were super happy working with them.
How did Userfacet perform from a project management standpoint?
Userfacet’s team had incredibly insightful thoughts and feedback that really supported us in our decision-making. We appreciated their focus on working with startups and really giving us the support that we needed. We were lacking in our own team strengths, and how they collaborated with us has been really beneficial to us. They were able to bring a robust understanding of research into user behavior that was incredibly helpful to us in thinking through our value proposition.
For communication, we primarily used email, phone calls, and because my business partner was more comfortable with it, we used Google Workspace.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to collaborate was the highlight of the partnership. They joined our team not as a vendor but almost as a cohesive team that worked together with us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing stands out that they should change.
Any advice for potential customers?
If you are a non-technical person entering the world of startups, they're an excellent choice because they can create a lot of value to your overall product vision as well as a really in-depth and insightful understanding of your consumer base.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We at Scikraft are on a pursuit to enhance science education at school and college levels by interfacing technology and education. We work in designing, developing, and supporting innovative teaching and learning equipment, tools and solutions for K–12 and college level in science education.
We believe in pedagogy driven technology solutions in classrooms and labs. I, Ankur Revankar hold a position of Product Architect within the organisation. Primarily overlooking the design and development of the learning equipment.
For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
A robust admin panel to upload different forms of content, manage content and manage user access. A web app for teachers, parents and students to access interactive content via PC and tablets.
What were your goals for this project?
To develop a teacher and student friendly UI for active learning via use of physical kits or digital media.
How did you select Userfacet?
The Platform to be developed was one of a kind with very limited examples from which someone could draw comparing remarking. Userfacet showed confidence and The logo & UX design proposals were convincing. The cost of the project was also a key deciding factor.
Describe the project in detail.
The project design included UX design, architecting the platform, design of the database, front end and back end of the web application along with integration testing
What was the team composition?
A team of 6~8 people worked based on the different roles involved. 2 developers. 1-2 testers based on different stages. 1 Graphics design 1 UX design overlooking it all was the architect.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The Overall project came out as per expectations. Even when there were minor requirement changes along the way and the team managed to incorporate the changes and deliver. The project is also well received by our potential customers in the initial dicussions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
There were active communications between both teams in concept design development and testing. There were weekly meetings to discuss the project progress and timelines and prioritising the different issues. Apart from this there were daily meetings for points which needed immediate attention.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They provide an all-in-one solution for our needs, wherein the entire application development + UX development + graphic design was carried out under one roof. Moreover, each entity was delivered with total user acceptance.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Maybe the thing takes the most time or RnD could be prioritised first then taking at the nth moment. This can prevent delays and prevent user surprises.

Feedback summary:
The team at Userfacet delivered a successful product. Their design expertise was top-notch. They're flexible and innovative, thinking of out of the box solutions for their clients.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
We design and develop educational lab equipment for K-12 and college-level science learning. We also provide science learning solutions in the form of learning content and environment development. I work as a learning design architect at our company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
While working on learning solutions, we found a gap in chemistry learning solutions in conventional modes. We ideated on an AR solution for the same. We hired Userfacet to develop a pilot AR project for our solution.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of this project was to explore the possibility of AR solutions to chemistry learning. We were trying to find out the range of concepts that could be worked out with AR, possible rendering of content to enable better learning. We wanted to build a prototype, have it tested in schools and other markets for its usability and utility.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
Our team had known Userfacet in a different not-for-profit project that we were involved with. We were aware of the competence and quality of work that Userfacet were capable of. They certainly proved to be the right choice.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
They worked on end to end AR app development and launching, right from creating 3D designs to developing the UX for the app. We had brainstormed and created a storyboard for app development. The requirements were discussed in detail.
The randomness of motion of objects(molecules) was one of the critical requirements of the app. The first four weeks were spent on R&D of object creation, the randomized motion of objects, which were crucial to the project. There were also three versions of solutions that were being tried.
The whole R&D phase involved several test cycles at our end as well. Once the designs were finalised, UX and workflow were created and tested rigorously. The timeline of the project was maintained strictly and Userfacet team were compliant with the schedule.
What was the team composition?
The team had four developers and one project manager. The developers were competent and quick. As AR is still a niche technology, we were looking for experienced developers which we could get at Userfacet.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The product has opened new avenues with our partners. It was well appreciated and has found possibilities of new applications for enhancement of already existing physical products. It has shown all the positive signs to go ahead with our further AR content generation and market expansion.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We had a progress tracking meeting once a week with the developer and project manager from Userfacet with our team. Apart from this, we had a dynamic progress tracking sheet which was closely monitored by both Userfacet and us which helped us optimise the process of development to a good extent.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Novelty, innovation and design flexibility. Userfacet team came up with designs we had not even thought of and gave us several options of designs. Their willingness to try new things, give out of the box solutions was a noteworthy observation. Apart from this, they were very flexible with their designs.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think "requirement analysis and understanding" discussions could have been more comprehensive. That could have given more time for the design-prototype-test cycle which could have resulted in broadening of app features. Apart from this, there's not much of improvement that I can see of.

Advanced Design Tool for Enterprise Software Company

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
Our company is a fortune 500 company that builds enterprise software and cloud infrastructure. It is based in California but operates globally. My position in the company was to lead the research and design team in the Application User Experience team. I lead a global team of designers, architects and researchers.
For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
We hired UserFacet to develop and internal infrastructure tool for designers and developers to collaborate on application development and review and approve the designs from concept to delivery. UserFacet was hired to build the our design tool using our proprietary application building software. We provided designs and the development and validations were completed by UserFacet team.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal for this project was to build the design tool for internal use so our designers and developers could share and iterate on designs in real-time. We also provided a historial record for analysis and reviews. The broader goal for this project was to save company unnecessary cost in rework and avoid the waste of rebuilding products. This would save the company many hours of development time and rework.
How did you select this vendor?
We selected the vendor based on an extensive review of our available vendors in US and abroad. First we created an RFP (Request for Proposal) for the project and solicited quotes from different vendors. We considered 3-4 companies in the evaluation process. We selected the UserFacet as they were able to build our product using our proprietary software and build it with the security infrastructure our company demanded. They should expertize in development skills, promptness in response time and good cost basis. The senior management of Applications User Experience team was involved in the selection process as well as our Procurement teams.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The project was spilt into 4 phases over the duration of the contract. In the phase 1 we built the discovery tool which was capturing requirements, user stories and personas. In phase 2 we designed and developed the collaboration piece and Phase 3 and 4 were the design iterations and validation tool. The technology used by UserFacet to build the product was an internal Application Development Express. UserFacet was required to take our designs specifications and create the product using the our internal technology and deliver the concepts and code. Design specifications and visuals were provided by us. The delivery of final code involved QA testing, functional specifications and walkthrough of the product with our internal teams.
What was the team composition?
There were 3 resources from the vendor side - account executive, UI/UX specialist and Software developer. From our side we had a team of 4 UX manager, Designer, project manager and 1 researcher. The size of the team remained same, we used our researcher as and when they were needed. We continued to project manage the development from our side.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
When the final product was launched it received great feedback from the team. The effort taken by UserFacet to define the functionality and how it worked helped our internal developers to understand how to continue to maintain the product moving forward.
The final product showcased the attention to details and finetuning to make the user experience smooth. UserFacet designed the solution very skillfully so it was scalable for future enhancements and iterations.
This product brought User Centered Design into the development cycle. We leveraged the designs and profiles that were built and stored in the database. As these designs grown and the databases is expanded the impact of this tool is expected to improve the effieiency of the development process and reduce rework. I left the company in 2018 spring when this product was launched with great promise. I was not able to followup with the progress after.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The project management was arranged by our company and provided by UserFacet from their side by Tanuj Shah. We used daily standup meetings using Zoom conferencing to manage the progress. The documentation was stored in our internal database.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Our team was very happy with the final product and the quality of the designs. The product was responsive, performant and scalable. W The strengths of UserFacet are that they deliver a quality product which really showcases well. The design implementation was accurate but the scalability and performance added made the product more appealing. I would say the following things distinguishes UserFacet from other venders: - Timely delivery - Scalable designs - Ability to understand the goals and deliver on them - Quality of the code - UserFacet had the expertise we needed to develop our software and built it to our specfication and our satisfaction.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We wish we could have seen how long the project would take in development. Although we met our delivery timeframes, we had to extend the timeframes to get the desired features.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of EnGrip. Together with my co-founders, we aim to capture the online learning experiences of users and help them build a credible knowledge profile. As a technical founder, I looked after the development of EnGrip.
For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
The biggest challenge we had is how to visualize our idea. There wasn't anything existing thus far to get inspired. So, we needed someone who is absolutely fantastic with his design and creative skills since we want to create something that wasn't existing.
What were your goals for this project?
We need the agency to give a vision to our idea. We want to create a user-friendly web application and intuitive touchpoints across browsers through our browser extension. We follow the browsing behavior of the user and our extension shall collect necessary information from the websites acknowledged by the user without hampering the user's browsing experience.
How did you select this vendor?
As happens with many people, we started with an online search for UX agencies. Since this is our first web application and we do not have anyone with UX knowledge in our team, we gave priority to someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset. We spoke to 4 vendors and the above criterion was instrumental in selecting userfacet to work with.
Describe the project in detail.
- Information Architecture - Includes UX Research, core concepts with product differentiation & positioning, product scalability and content flow
- Interaction Design - Includes core Interaction Design differentiation and detailed wireframes for all the pages mentioned in the next section
- Visual Design - Visual Persuasion, the look and feel for all the pages mentioned in the next section
- Behavior Specs and Style Guide - Detailed behavior specs and a basic style guide to help the development
- Re-works, Additional Iterations, Meetings
What was the team composition?
A project manager, UX designer and a visual designer
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
By the end of the project, we had high fidelity wireframes ready to be passed to our UI developers. They understood the unique concept that we were working on and helped us in visualizing the product. And Userfacet was spot on with respect to the committed timelines and deliverables.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We have used Atlassian project management tool for our collaboration and invision for design artifacts. Userfacet team has been spot on with respect to the committed timelines and they have always kept us updated about the progress.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Userfacet brings in a fresh perspective. They know how to create designs people really want to use. Apart from solid design skills, prototyping, complex application design experience which form the core skills of a UX company what they bring in addition is great communication skills and business acumen.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We were very satisfied with the end product. They could have been a little considerate in the pricing as we were a startup. But at the end of the day, it is the quality of the output that matters for whatever you spend. And, I believe we have made the right investment.

For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
Userfacet designed the user interface and complete flows of our FX Portfolio Manager which we are looking to build out as a primary delivery tool for our services
What were your goals for this project?
The primary goals were to build a world class design and a structure which was scalable across different categories of clients that we had
How did you select this vendor?
We did an extensive search across locations for a design team with some global perspective and a strong understanding of design principles. After short listing user facet and three other companies we went through interviews as well as a site visit to ascertain they were the right fit
Describe the project in detail.
The project had two clear objectives to build a scalable world class design for the FX portfolio manager and the second to enhance the ease of use for our relationship managers who would use this tool to improve quality of their relationships
What was the team composition?
I primarily worked with our project manager but was told there was a team of 2 designers working along with him
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The product is as yet under development so will update this section once we release the final version to our clients
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was excellent, even though part of the work was done when we are all in lockdown and we were working from home
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The approach was professional and intensive . Our project manager extensively researched our business, our competition and even our own motives at length. So even though they had no prior knowledge of the areas that we worked in , they had a pretty good understanding of our business before they started work on the design. Delivery was always on the promised dates and our project manager was always available for any support.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We wanted a lot of colour and vibrancy in our app which initially was at odds with the design that was presented. But over a period , userfacet stopped looking at the app as a standard boring financial servives delivery mechanism..

Our company is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting. I work as a senior marketing manager responsible for Cloud, Infrastructure and Enterprise Security and Experiential marketing.
For what projects/services did your company hire Userfacet?
We were looking for a partner who can create immersive and engaging "experiential" applications that our target audience could play with to experience first hand how our solutions could address their business challenges and enable them to grow faster.
What were your goals for this project?
To create an engaging application around voice based banking scenario (future of banking). The application involved authenticating an user interacting using an Amazon Echo device to complete banking related transactions when they are on the move. The scope involved creating a robust back-end application with an intuitive user interface to make it easy for users to engage.
How did you select this vendor?
We needed a partner with a rare combination of both strong engineering/technology application development background and wrapping it with an intuitive user interface. Most of the partners we explored excelled in the front-end design but lacked the engineering mindset to architect the back-end application. Userfacet were ahead and were selected based on this assessment.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

What was the team composition?
One significant difference I have noticed with Userfacet is that you deal with the same team during both evaluation and execution stages of the project.
We interacted with Tanuj Shah (CEO, Userfacet) who provided us regular updates on the progress and used to pro-actively set-up review meetings with Infosys stakeholders to review the application.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The application was showcased at an exhibit to our prospects and customers and immediately led to a few opportunities significantly accelerating the decision making process of prospects.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Regular updates of design and application development progress (through Invision) helped the entire team (on both sides) stay on the same page throughout.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The single most differentiating factor is their understanding of complex application requirements and the way they architect a tech solution which is both stable and scalable. They bring the best of engineering skills wrapped with decent UX to deliver robust applications.
Are there any areas for improvement?
