the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the market development manager for Austrian Post Group, a national post carrier company. I focus on our company’s subsidiaries and parcel delivery companies, as well as on the Central European data companies.
What challenge were you trying to address with Undabot?
We have different API integrations for our customers in the nine different countries where we’re based, which has created a burden for them because they need to integrate with us separately. Thus, we needed development consulting services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Undabot found a way to help us overcome the challenges we had with our subsidiaries. During the discovery phase, they realized that we wouldn’t be able to unify our APIs, so they proposed to build a converter. After looking into their proposal, we requested them to assess our APIs’ architecture and detail how one converter would be able to integrate all of our services within a single interface.
Ultimately, Undabot delivered documentation with their proposed architecture, which became the basis for a tender process that we started afterward to develop the proposed solution. This 60-page document detailed what the solution would look like and what functionalities would have. During this process and as part of their consulting services, Undabot also provided suggestions to our subsidiaries on how to optimize their domestic architecture.
With this converter, we will offer our customers a single connection point to connect with our various APIs, ensuring the communication between them and our system. The solution will be based on Microsoft Azure per our request.
What is the team composition?
We worked with approximately six people from Undabot, including their CTO, their CEO, their product management team, and two technical consultants. Additionally, their sales department was involved in the project.
How did you come to work with Undabot?
Undabot had already worked with us in Croatia for a bigger development project. On that project, they developed custom software for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about €12,000 (approximately $13,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from July–September 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The document that Undabot delivered was exactly what we needed in order to launch our tender process and get a solution built to fit our needs. Additionally, working with them was a very positive experience. They delivered very detailed work, and they delivered it on time, exceeding our expectations. The final product was more than we expected; they truly came up with the best solution possible.
How did Undabot perform from a project management standpoint?
Undabot’s project management was perfect; they delivered on budget and on time. We mainly communicated via email, but we also had Teams meetings and managed the project via Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Undabot’s strength is that they’re very customer-oriented, and they have an impressive track record of developing APIs and custom software solutions for important international companies. Whenever we have a software development project, we can trust them to deliver within our timelines and budgets, and they’re always ready to do it — we know what they’re capable of.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Undabot is always available to analyze their client’s requirements in-depth and in detail, so rely on them to address your needs and find a solution that will satisfy them.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
24sata or 24hours is part of a greater company called Styria Media Group. It’s based in Austria and mainly operates in Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia. The whole group has more than 3,000 employees.
24hours was founded in 2005, and since 2008 it has become one of the leading Croatian newspapers, news portals, and media production companies.
What challenge were you trying to address with Undabot?
We were relaunching our digital platforms and wanted to launch an innovative application on the market. We wanted to provide an app with automatic video display, content feedback, support for various formats, user-generated content, and more features for our readers. Additionally, our in-house team didn’t have any mobile app developers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We hired Undabot for both iOS and Android mobile application development. They’ve done all of the work — architecture consulting, project management, requirements analysis, and pure development. They work in line with our in-house team.
Some key goals for the app are personalization, content, and user interaction. They’ve also implemented a purchase model on the app because we launched digital subscriptions a month ago.
What is the team composition?
At its peak, we had about 15 people working on the project. The team includes project managers, developers technical leaders, business analysts, and SCRUM masters.
How did you come to work with Undabot?
They’re well-known in the Croatian market. Some other companies from our group have worked with them in the past. We got really good recommendations from our colleagues, so we decided to work with them as well.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $400,000–$500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started in January 2019. We started six months earlier, but Undabot was occupied. We launched the app in June 2020, and now we’re finishing phase two.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Key metrics are the loading time and percentage of bugs and glitches, which have been really low, so they’ve done a great job about it.
How did Undabot perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve worked with an extremely agile model. After each sprint, we organize the sprint review and talk about what we could do better, what was great, and which were the main issues. It’s been really pleasant to work with Undabot because they’re so well-organized. We've got the sprint planning, grooming, and review, so everything is done in a very structured manner from their part. We’ve learned something about project management from them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve been very reliable. The main thing we get from them is their stability. Also, they have high experience and technical knowledge. If we have to add more features, they’re flexible enough to transfer more people to the project so we can meet the deadline.
I’ve worked on web development for 15 years, and this project has been one of the good ones. We haven’t had any stress, technical issue, or problem with deadlines — everything in the project has been great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There have been some things that didn’t meet the deadline, but it’s been 1% of the whole project. We couldn’t have predicted them at the time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you want to make the most out of your collaboration with Undabot, really follow them in terms of project management; they’re excellent.

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
Audio Store Transonica is an audio production company from Zagreb, Croatia, specializing in audiobook production. The company was founded in 2018 by Ljubica Letinić and myself.
For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?
In 2019 we hired Undabot to build the first fully-featured audiobook service for listening to audiobooks in Croatian language 'book&zvook'. Thru the app we are able to offer audiobooks that are produced by Audio Store Transonica and other Croatian audiobook publishers.
What were your goals for this project?
Since it is a relatively new service offered in Croatia, we wanted a stable running mobile app that would be easy to use, displaying intuitive navigation and fully featured.
We wanted to include all the standard audiobook service features such as: a catalog of audiobooks with free samples, a user library, an audio player, reading speed control, offline playback, sync of the last-reached location, adding bookmarks and personal notes, secure payment with several payment options.
How did you select Undabot?
Word of mouth. Undabot is known as a highly competent and professional company in this field. With no previous experience in mobile app development, we looked for a company that would guide us and offer expertise in all phases of the production process.
Describe the project in detail.
The project started with several workshops lead by a UI/UX designer where we looked at suggestions for wireframes for all sections of the app. Together we analyzed all of them in detail and modified according to our specific needs and wishes.
We plotted the user onboarding process, designed icons, buttons and the overall visual identity of the app. A content management system was built for managing audiobooks which are offered as in-app purchases in the app, as well as for tracking and filtering purchases and registered users.
The app is built for iOS and Android platforms. The testing period was extensive, but the developers managed to resolve all the issues and release a fully functional and a stable running app.
What was the team composition?
project manager, UI/UX designer, backend developer, frontend and mobile developer, CEO
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since the launch, the app has been running smoothly, without crashes. There has been a steady increase of active users and downloads. We received positive feedback regarding the design of the app, ease of use and overall functionality of the app.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Mostly we communicated via YouTrack, but also thru email and phone. The project went thru several project manager changes which was unfortunate. The other team members were constant throughout the project, and we had a lot of support from the CEO as well.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Since this is the first mobile app for listening to audiobooks in Croatia, some features, such as playback of long audio files, were a challenging task for the developers.
However, all the issues were successfully resolved and the team never gave up until the solution to the problem was found. Undabot’s experience and extensive knowledge in the field of mobile app development provided certainty and reliability throughout the project.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Some phases of the project lagged which we felt was a result of inadequate communication with the project manager.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
SUZA is the Association of Animal Protection Associations of the City of Zagreb. It was founded in 2005 and has so far helped house more than 25,000 animals.
With the help of the City of Zagreb in 2005, the Pet Info Center was opened. Immediately after the opening of the Info Center, the Emergency Aid project for wounded animals killed in the City of Zagreb was launched.
Thanks to many years of good cooperation with the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Animals from Cruelty) from Great Britain, a car was donated to transport wounded animals from the scene of the accident to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Full 12 g. we ran a Pet Info Center where calls for lost, found, wounded and abused animals were received every day. I am the president of the Association of Animal Protection Associations of the City of Zagreb.
What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?
Our goal was to create a website where it would be possible to create and edit ads for lost and found pets. The ultimate goal is to reduce the population of stray animals and return them to their owners.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Undabot has created a responsive website where it is possible to create ads, register accounts, share ads on social networks. Ad filtering and searching is very user friendly and easy - it helps connect owners and their pets.
Given the many years of experience in the field of animal protection and animal rights, when creating the website from the beginning, we participated in the development with our suggestions and suggestions.
With its expert advice and suggestions, the Undabot team helped steer the project in the right direction.
What is the team composition?
The team consisted of a Project Manager, UX/UI Designer, Frontend Developers, Quality Assurance and Backend Developers.
How did you come to work with the vendor?
We heard about Undabot through a recommendation, had one meeting with them and agreed with them the details about the project as well as that this would do a pro bono for us.
Undabot is a company that strives to bring back the community through various programs and we are extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with top experts.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project of advertisements for lost and found animals has been in operation for more than 3 years. and we are currently in agreement on some minor changes that need to be made for the purpose of even better service related to reporting lost and found animals.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project is unique in that ads can be placed and deactivated by owners and finders of animals from all over Croatia, without having to contact the administrators.
All placed ads have the possibility of sharing on SUZA Facebook pages, which, due to the large number of followers, further increases the chance of finding lost animals faster or finding their owners.
How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very efficient and organized. The project was run through YouTrack where we could communicate any change or bug report. Status reporting was done several times a week so that they knew at all times what had been done and what would be done next. Everyone was always available, ready for clarifications and additional education.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Undabot delighted us above all with his approach, friendliness and knowledge. We are extremely happy because we were given the opportunity to work with professional people and grateful for the time they have so selflessly set aside for this project. In addition, they showed great love and empathy for the animals.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind, everyone at Undabot was extremely accommodating throughout the process. They have top experts who did exactly what we needed.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder and the Managing Director of a hybrid hair salon - cocktail concept Blade Hairclubbing® in Soho, London, UK.
For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?
We have decided to create a proprietary booking system which would allow our clients to download, book and manage their appointments in a matter of minutes - without any complications.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to make the booking process extremely fast and convenient, as opposed to over-complicated and time-consuming generic app solutions which are prevalent in the industry.
How did you select this vendor?
At first, we have done online research and reached out to a few different companies for general pricing and timeline enquiries. In the meantime, we have received a recommendation and, after initial contact, decided to proceed with Undabot on the basis of the recommendation, as well as their clear and concise communication regarding the project pricing, timeline and expectations.
Describe the project in detail.
We have created a very specific mock design and structure / layout for the app, which was scrutinised and assessed during the inital meetings. After the critical elements of the concept and its implementation were identified, Undabot have presented a number of solutions on how to work around the potential functional and design pitfalls while very much adhering to our vision.
Once agreed, Undabot have proceeded to develop iOS and Android versions as well as updating the design elements in line with professional standards. Undabot have also suggested to create internal team versions for the apps, which have since proven indispensable for our booking workflow.
What was the team composition?
Initially, we were assigned with a project manager and a team of developers. Since the project is ongoing and Undabot has grown significantly over the years, we have had the pleasure of dealing with many members of the Undabot Team - and never been disappointed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The app has become a preferred booking method for over two thirds of our customers (our web and phone bookings account for about one thir of overall bookings), while the team versions became an indispensable tool for internal booking management. Most of our customers' feedback suggests they find the the apps provide to be a critical element of our convenient service.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager was extremely involved from both the creative and management standpoint, especially in regards of troubleshooting and thinking ahead to identify any potential problems down the line. The response to feedback was always well argumented, yet still open-minded. The communication was extremely good overall.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most impressive quality of Undabot (and the reason we are still working together) is their steadfast focus on making sure to protect the client from making mistakes and taking a great deal of effort to work around problematic elements in a creative, yet profesionally objective way - while making sure to deliver results in line with the original vision.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Every project inevitably has its own little hickups - in hindsight, none that matter enough to mention.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm Managing Director of Design & Development agency with offices in Munich, Germany and Osijek, Croatia. I'm in charge of Business development, Partner Relationships and Account Management.
For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?
At the time, we just signed an important client. The client had 3 different projects running at the same time and was unhappy with the current agency. When they came to us, they had a strict timeline and since we didn't have capacity to take over everything at once, we hired Undabot to support us in iOS development of one mobile app.
What were your goals for this project?
The biggest goal was to reach the tight deadline for an important client event. This event would high mass, and the client wanted to promote the app, so we expected a large number of downloads. It was an opportunity we couldn't miss. Undabot developers joined our team and helped us reach the deadline. We released the app on time and reached our mutual goal.
How did you select this vendor?
We knew Undabot for some time, as we organized iOS talks together before. Community events are important for us as we like sharing knowledge with other companies. We've noticed before that we share the same values and culture. When we needed support, they were the first one we called. Luckily, they were flexible and able to jump in on a short notice.
Describe the project in detail.
The project we worked on covered multiple platforms from mobile to web. Undabot worked on native iOS version of the app, while we developed Android version.
What was the team composition?
The overall team was around 10 people, from Project Management to Quality Assurance. Undabot had 2 developers working for us, and a supervisor that made sure everything is going smooth. If we had any questions or requirement, we could easily reach other team members too, and they were very responsive.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The main goal of the project was to reach the tight deadline and go live for the most important event of the year for the client. We managed to reach this goal, but even thought we were under pressure, the quality of the end project was great and the client was happy with our work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was effective. It took us some time to align on the tools and workflow in the beginning because we both had our own way of handling projects. Few weeks in, everything went smoothly and the communication went well. If we had a chance to prolong this cooperation, I believe it would be even easier as we just got to know each other better.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Undabot team is professional and reliable. Their communication skills are great, they are easy to work with and they always respond well to feedback. We always had fun to work with them and I hope there will be more chances to cooperate again.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, everything was ok. After this cooperation, Undabot called us to partner up for a startup competition. We did design, and they did development. We actually won the first place together. It was a great experience and we hope there will be more of that in the future too!

Please describe your company and your position there.
eSTUDENT is a nonprofit organization created in 2004 with the initiative of proactive students and assistants with the wish that the Association and its members are initiators of change, acquire practical experience and develop a network of knowledge.
The association, projects, workshops and initiatives are lead by students who are motivated and willing to change the environment they live in for the better. I'm a president and an IT coordinator in the Association.
For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?
Redesigning our old web with a fresh look and implementing new, custom made CMS to satisfy all our needs.
What were your goals for this project?
The primary goal of this project is to redesign the public eSTUDENT website, optimize it for various screen sizes (i.e. implement responsiveness), and implement technical SEO and performance mechanisms so that the website is stable and performant.
The secondary goal is to implement a new, tailor-made web application for content management (CMS), accessible only to a limited set of eSTUDENT members, used to manage content on a public website.
How did you select this vendor?
Undabot is our long time business partner since they are partners on one of our projects. Since we wanted someone we can trust for this project, Undabot was logical choice.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Project started with a workshop on which we decided what we really need and how Undabot can make it happen. Then, they set goals, project timeline, wireframes, design and beta version of web.
Project was made in two parts and everything was on time and as agreed to be. Along the way, we had some changes which developers made possible for us because they were available almost 0-24, which is the best part of this project!
What was the team composition?
The project team had about ten people who were available all the time and were anwering on all our questions and make sure we understand everything. Communication with project managers, developers, UI/UX Designers etc. was fast, easy and friendly which made us feel more positive and sure that we chose the best partners to do our web.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
By now I don't have any metrics data to illustrate the value of impact. Just a personal impression that new CMS is easier to use, but we have to have internal workshops so more of our member know how to use it. Also, new design is much better, simplier and ''catchier'' for our site visitors.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
It was effective, we communicated through Slack, Youtrack, email and phone. Each member of a team was always available for our questions, but some of the tasks were made last minute so we also had to be really quick in making decisions.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Clients have direct access to both project managers and the wider team behind them. This is critical because things can easily be lost in translation when there's always and only a single middleman playing the role of messenger. They prevent that issue by keeping the lines of communication completely open.
Are there any areas for improvement?
My only suggestion is that it would be better not to wait last minute with some of the work so we as clients can have more time for deciding what should we do or which picture would be better there etc.
Also, in the first meeting we clearly said everything we would like to consider in the project and they told us that they can do that, but after their private meeting they came with a different scope of the project since everything we wanted can't be done, but the price stayed the same. Apart from that, everything was really great and we are satisfied how all together worked out.
Undabot found the best way to solve the client’s challenge, delivering a thorough document that became the foundation for the software solution they needed. The team was timely and customer-oriented, and the final product reflected their vast expertise. Overall, they exceeded expectations.
