I'm Managing Director of Design & Development agency with offices in Munich, Germany and Osijek, Croatia. I'm in charge of Business development, Partner Relationships and Account Management.

For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?

At the time, we just signed an important client. The client had 3 different projects running at the same time and was unhappy with the current agency. When they came to us, they had a strict timeline and since we didn't have capacity to take over everything at once, we hired Undabot to support us in iOS development of one mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

The biggest goal was to reach the tight deadline for an important client event. This event would high mass, and the client wanted to promote the app, so we expected a large number of downloads. It was an opportunity we couldn't miss. Undabot developers joined our team and helped us reach the deadline. We released the app on time and reached our mutual goal.

How did you select this vendor?

We knew Undabot for some time, as we organized iOS talks together before. Community events are important for us as we like sharing knowledge with other companies. We've noticed before that we share the same values and culture. When we needed support, they were the first one we called. Luckily, they were flexible and able to jump in on a short notice.

The project we worked on covered multiple platforms from mobile to web. Undabot worked on native iOS version of the app, while we developed Android version.

What was the team composition?

The overall team was around 10 people, from Project Management to Quality Assurance. Undabot had 2 developers working for us, and a supervisor that made sure everything is going smooth. If we had any questions or requirement, we could easily reach other team members too, and they were very responsive.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The main goal of the project was to reach the tight deadline and go live for the most important event of the year for the client. We managed to reach this goal, but even thought we were under pressure, the quality of the end project was great and the client was happy with our work.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was effective. It took us some time to align on the tools and workflow in the beginning because we both had our own way of handling projects. Few weeks in, everything went smoothly and the communication went well. If we had a chance to prolong this cooperation, I believe it would be even easier as we just got to know each other better.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Undabot team is professional and reliable. Their communication skills are great, they are easy to work with and they always respond well to feedback. We always had fun to work with them and I hope there will be more chances to cooperate again.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, everything was ok. After this cooperation, Undabot called us to partner up for a startup competition. We did design, and they did development. We actually won the first place together. It was a great experience and we hope there will be more of that in the future too!

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The solution has been built as designed in the time-frame requested. We were extremely happy with the process, results, and business impact.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project manager was always accessible, transparent, and responsive. All deadlines were always met. Different time-zones and remote work was managed very professionally.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Undabot understands their client's requirements, has a very skilled team, is transparent, responsive, and always accessible. They deliver quality work and offer very competitive rates.

We could not name any areas for improvement. Their service was outstanding.

eSTUDENT is a nonprofit organization created in 2004 with the initiative of proactive students and assistants with the wish that the Association and its members are initiators of change, acquire practical experience and develop a network of knowledge.

The association, projects, workshops and initiatives are lead by students who are motivated and willing to change the environment they live in for the better. I'm a president and an IT coordinator in the Association.

Redesigning our old web with a fresh look and implementing new, custom made CMS to satisfy all our needs.

What were your goals for this project?

The primary goal of this project is to redesign the public eSTUDENT website, optimize it for various screen sizes (i.e. implement responsiveness), and implement technical SEO and performance mechanisms so that the website is stable and performant.

The secondary goal is to implement a new, tailor-made web application for content management (CMS), accessible only to a limited set of eSTUDENT members, used to manage content on a public website.

How did you select this vendor?

Undabot is our long time business partner since they are partners on one of our projects. Since we wanted someone we can trust for this project, Undabot was logical choice.

Project started with a workshop on which we decided what we really need and how Undabot can make it happen. Then, they set goals, project timeline, wireframes, design and beta version of web.

Project was made in two parts and everything was on time and as agreed to be. Along the way, we had some changes which developers made possible for us because they were available almost 0-24, which is the best part of this project!

What was the team composition?

The project team had about ten people who were available all the time and were anwering on all our questions and make sure we understand everything. Communication with project managers, developers, UI/UX Designers etc. was fast, easy and friendly which made us feel more positive and sure that we chose the best partners to do our web.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

By now I don't have any metrics data to illustrate the value of impact. Just a personal impression that new CMS is easier to use, but we have to have internal workshops so more of our member know how to use it. Also, new design is much better, simplier and ''catchier'' for our site visitors.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was effective, we communicated through Slack, Youtrack, email and phone. Each member of a team was always available for our questions, but some of the tasks were made last minute so we also had to be really quick in making decisions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Clients have direct access to both project managers and the wider team behind them. This is critical because things can easily be lost in translation when there's always and only a single middleman playing the role of messenger. They prevent that issue by keeping the lines of communication completely open.

Are there any areas for improvement?

My only suggestion is that it would be better not to wait last minute with some of the work so we as clients can have more time for deciding what should we do or which picture would be better there etc.

Also, in the first meeting we clearly said everything we would like to consider in the project and they told us that they can do that, but after their private meeting they came with a different scope of the project since everything we wanted can't be done, but the price stayed the same. Apart from that, everything was really great and we are satisfied how all together worked out.

My company maintans a mobile app used for two-factor authentication onto various government services in Croatia. It needed some fixes to continue working properly on new Apple iOS versions, so we decided to ask Undabot for help with that

What were your goals for this project?

Primary goal was to enable the app to function properly on new OS versions - it was crashing for a subset of users, which is, of course, pretty bad from a UX point of view. Also, we needed the fix fairly quickly, considering the app is in production and actively used by thousands of users

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We browsed through LinkedIn and other channels, in search for a local company which does iOS development and can deliver a solution quickly. We heard some very positive feedback about Undabot from one of our contacts, and decided to contact them

Describe the project in detail.

Initially, we wanted just the necessary fixes to our old codebase, with a possible rewrite to a newer language/platform sometime in the future - our priority was to deliver a functioning version as quickly as possible, and we thought that it would be faster this way.

The dev team at Undabot suggested that a full rewrite would be the better option, as they could do it in the same timeframe as fixing the old version (we were, of course, pleasantly surprised). The dev team delivered a beta version with very few bugs, ahead of schedule and with minimal documentation provided by us - they had only the old code to work with.

The bugs were promptly fixed, and the production version was pushed to the App Store. A minor bug was discovered after the release, it was also very quickly diagnosed and fixed by the dev team.

What was the team composition?

The inital meeting with Undabot's bussines development manager - after we agreed the scope/timelines, we were assigned a project manager and two developers. I was mostly in contact with the developers, providing needed technical info/explanations. The entire team was very pleasant and efficient to work/communicate with

Within a day of releasing the new version of the app, we noticed an instant drop in number of app crashes on the App Store analytics/calls to our helpdesk - which means that the problem was effectively fixed

I found the workflow very fast and effective on Undabot's end - the entire team was very immediate and responsive to any questions I had.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their knowledgeability, speed, great communication skills, attention to detail... I'm very satisfied with the entire experience, and looking forward to any new opportunities to collaborate on

Our organisation represents the interest of farmers and growers in the southern part of the Netherlands. We help them growing their business in a more sustainable way. My title is project manager Innovation. I'm responsible for the strategy on innovation and datafication. In this role I transform ideas to business.

To develop the protein tool. With this tool, farmers can calculate the possibilities for increasing protein production on their own land. The model is built in Excel and we now migrate it to an online webpage were farmers can use the tool. Part of the data will come from another database.

Online KISS tool that a farmer can use directly. Were they understand straight away what to do. An important feature is the possibility that we can have insights in user activitey and get cummulative reports from the calculations made by the farmers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project is still running. When done it should give us an edge in advising farmers and also to lobby with facts and figures.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Very clear roles on their side. Clear and elaborate communication. I knew from the start who did what when.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Right questions. They really understand the needs of the customer. Right questions about the end user as well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Give a bit more insights in the technical steps that have to be taken. How hard/easy are the things that we ask of them. In general IT services are not very clear on this.

We communicated a lot, and they consulted me along the way about possible better options and alternatives. They were very professional and easy to work with. There were no surprises during the project and everything went smoothly—in every phase, from the start to the release and maintenance. Deliveries were made in several stages, each of which contained a specific logical entity.

The team consisted of business analyst, client relationship manager, project manager and developers. The same team members were on the project all the time.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

With this platform, all our funding processes—including the submission of applications, evaluations of the collected applications, and the distribution of the funds—are trackable and fully transparent. Using this platform, we also digitized some of our processes and became more environmentally responsible by reducing the paper consumption.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had meetings and used Google Docs to collaborate on the documentation. We also used YouTrack ticketing to communicate bugs or changes that we needed. We were involved throughout the whole development with regularly communicated statuses.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They showed great interest in turning our requirements into a quality application, and during the whole process, they made many suggestions for improving functionality and simplifying the user interface.

They were also very flexible to our minor, last moment changes. We are very satisfied, and we look forward to working with them again.

The collaboration was really effective on both a technical and a business level and, for now, we're satisfied with the result.

I’m the online sales and digital customer experience senior manager for A1 Telekom Austria Group. We’re a leading provider of digital services and communications solutions in Central and Eastern Europe with more than 24 million customers, currently operating in seven countries. I work on the development of digital channels.

For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?

We needed to partner with an external resource to develop a self-care application based on the TM Forum Open API standard. 

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to build a self-care platform that would truly enable a “develop once, deploy many” approach. We needed a flexible solution that could be used in all our markets, no matter the differences in services. The ultimate goal is to create another channel of communication and service for our customers.

How did you select this vendor?

We ran a standard purchasing process starting with an RFI. We held several workshops with multiple vendors before entering into detailed negotiations about the scope, assumptions, and contract with Undabot.

The project was split into two phases based on our first two markets for the app. Undabot kicked off the process by holding a two day workshop at their office with all stakeholders. We used that meeting to define work packages, work mode, and requirements. Then they developed the app as an abstract data model that is decoupled from local backends and highly scalable. Key features include self-management of telecommunication services, product activation, and bill management. 

What was the team composition?

We worked with a dedicated project manager, a business analyst, a designer, a system architect, and two main developers. I don´t know how many other developers worked on the app.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Undabot developed a working application that is currently in soft launch mode. The entire project—including the purchasing process, data model definition, requirements, and development—took just over a year. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication is on point and transparent. We use Skype and Google Meet to talk on a weekly basis, YouTrack for ticketing, and Google Docs for collaboration on documentation. While we did experience two changes of our dedicated project manager, we haven’t seen any impact on their overall efficiency. Every member of the team is top notch.  

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Undabot is ceaselessly flexible. Their approach shows that they care about the project at least as much as we do. They handle all challenges exceptionally well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They lack a bit of experience with large telecommunication clients. That’s reflected in a discrepancy between expectations and reality. However, it only pushed us to go faster and made their flexibility really shine. When some smaller features were not documented, they were honest enough to admit it.

Describe the project in detail.

They developed an app for Android and iOS that allows users to review current information from the Bc Institute—for example, updates on our crops, detailed weather forecasts, or notes on plant diseases and weeds. The app also provides contact to Bc Institute staff for support and displays precise calculations of the sowing rate for every product we have.

What is the team composition? 

We worked with a team of 6–7 people. Our primary contacts were a project manager and a client service manager, who helped with contracts and payments. Otherwise, we worked with a software architect, backend developers, and developers for Android and iOS.

Several of our other partners recommended Undabot during our search for a software development agency. We contacted Undabot after reviewing their work online.
