THE CROATIAN NATIONAL TOURIST BOARD (CNTB) is a national tourist organization founded with a view to promoting, creating an identity for, and enhancing the reputation of Croatian tourism. The mission also includes the planning and implementation of a common strategy and the conception of its promotion, proposal and the performance of promotional activities of mutual interest for all subjects in tourism in the country and abroad, as well as raising the overall quality of the whole range of tourist services on offer in the Republic of Croatia.

What were your goals for this project?

Overall, we wanted to digitize and ease the application-submission process. The goals were faster submission, evaluation and approval of selected applications.

We scanned the market and collected a few offers. We assessed Undabot’s offer as the best ratio of price and quality.

We communicated a lot, and they consulted me along the way about possible better options and alternatives. They were very professional and easy to work with. There were no surprises during the project and everything went smoothly—in every phase, from the start to the release and maintenance. Deliveries were made in several stages, each of which contained a specific logical entity.

The team consisted of business analyst, client relationship manager, project manager and developers. The same team members were on the project all the time.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

With this platform, all our funding processes—including the submission of applications, evaluations of the collected applications, and the distribution of the funds—are trackable and fully transparent. Using this platform, we also digitized some of our processes and became more environmentally responsible by reducing the paper consumption.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had meetings and used Google Docs to collaborate on the documentation. We also used YouTrack ticketing to communicate bugs or changes that we needed. We were involved throughout the whole development with regularly communicated statuses.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They showed great interest in turning our requirements into a quality application, and during the whole process, they made many suggestions for improving functionality and simplifying the user interface.

They were also very flexible to our minor, last moment changes. We are very satisfied, and we look forward to working with them again.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The collaboration was really effective on both a technical and a business level and, for now, we're satisfied with the result.

I’m the online sales and digital customer experience senior manager for A1 Telekom Austria Group. We’re a leading provider of digital services and communications solutions in Central and Eastern Europe with more than 24 million customers, currently operating in seven countries. I work on the development of digital channels.

For what projects/services did your company hire Undabot?

We needed to partner with an external resource to develop a self-care application based on the TM Forum Open API standard. 

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to build a self-care platform that would truly enable a “develop once, deploy many” approach. We needed a flexible solution that could be used in all our markets, no matter the differences in services. The ultimate goal is to create another channel of communication and service for our customers.

How did you select this vendor?

We ran a standard purchasing process starting with an RFI. We held several workshops with multiple vendors before entering into detailed negotiations about the scope, assumptions, and contract with Undabot.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was split into two phases based on our first two markets for the app. Undabot kicked off the process by holding a two day workshop at their office with all stakeholders. We used that meeting to define work packages, work mode, and requirements. Then they developed the app as an abstract data model that is decoupled from local backends and highly scalable. Key features include self-management of telecommunication services, product activation, and bill management. 

What was the team composition?

We worked with a dedicated project manager, a business analyst, a designer, a system architect, and two main developers. I don´t know how many other developers worked on the app.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Undabot developed a working application that is currently in soft launch mode. The entire project—including the purchasing process, data model definition, requirements, and development—took just over a year. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication is on point and transparent. We use Skype and Google Meet to talk on a weekly basis, YouTrack for ticketing, and Google Docs for collaboration on documentation. While we did experience two changes of our dedicated project manager, we haven’t seen any impact on their overall efficiency. Every member of the team is top notch.  

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Undabot is ceaselessly flexible. Their approach shows that they care about the project at least as much as we do. They handle all challenges exceptionally well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They lack a bit of experience with large telecommunication clients. That’s reflected in a discrepancy between expectations and reality. However, it only pushed us to go faster and made their flexibility really shine. When some smaller features were not documented, they were honest enough to admit it.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Scope of work was divided in two milestones. First milestone consisted of requirements analysis after which we had a better idea on the total project workload and cost. Second stage started with planning, documentation and UI design. Following mobile development and internal QA testing, we were granted access to beta version of the app and continued to test on both sides. Key deliverables:

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• New access channel with improved user experience was introduced. Vast majority of the customers find the application intuitive and easy to use. There is a certain operational cost reduction since the notifications channel can be used as alternative to traditional SMS communication.

Project management was excellent. There was one focal point that simplified communication. All of the items were delivered on time. Undabot was adaptable and quite understanding with regard to unpredicted challenges.

I am Digital project manager in media company. Nova TV specializes in media and entertainment, broadcasting, the internet, and subscription video on demand.

Showbuzz is the most famous Croatian news portal for curiosities of the day from the world of entertainment and lifestyle. It needed a modern look to capture readers’ attention with relevant information organized clearly and intuitively. The goal of this project is to create a design of the portal showbuzz.hr that will be topical (speed of information placed), attractive (content presentation), objective and spicy (dosed, mild sensationalism).

The redesign was necessary to ensure a better and more attractive presentation of content, primarily for displaying content on mobile devices, secondarily desktop devices. In addition to the visual, the functional component of the portal elements was also very important.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We already worked together on a project before and our cooperation was really good so we decided to continue with it.

Discovery workshop was a part of the initial project phase. We fully defined the scope and goals, but also set expectations for all sides involved in the project. During the workshop some sketches, user flows, personas were done. Based on that Wireframe was created, it provided a clear overview of the page structure, layout, information architecture, user flow, functionality and intended behaviors.

The next stage was visual design that showed a page exactly as it should look when implemented, including color palettes, photography, typography and other graphical elements. At the end they tested if design is implemented as planned and gave us feedback. We had an increase of 22% in page views after the launch of redesign.

New Showbuzz portal has cutting-edge UX and UI, exclusive sections highlighting the most important news, eye-capturing visuals and a fully optimized social media integration addition.

They were easy to communicate and provided us frequent updates. Very effective, short weekly alignment and very clear roles.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their performance was impressive. They really made all of our internal decisions faster and met all of our expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing that comes to my mind. We absolutely loved our cooperation with Undabot.

Our website has become outdated and our in-house development team had limited resources and the time so we hired Undabot to provide the site design for us.

The goal of the project was to create a design of the portal DNEVNIK.hr as a multimedia platform composed of text, video, photos, infographics, polls, widget etc. 'Mobile first', intuitive, interactive and stimulating design.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for web designers in our area using personal recommendations from people in industry. After reviewing 4 proposals, we chose them because of their industry experience and experts.

After the first kick-off meeting we had discovery workshop as a part of the initial project phase. Its goal was to fully define the scope and goals but also to set expectations for all sides involved in the project. The IA, moodboard, wireframes and UI were presented and discussed in the meetings with us.

Our feedback was given during an online design presentation or afterward in the form of comments in the Figma app. Dizajn handoff was within the agreed time frame and the process was simple and efficient.

I worked closely with two people, project manager and designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are still working on implementation of their design so I can only say that their documentation was very thorough so our developers will be able to implement their design easily.

The project manager and designer were easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. We had both in-person and online meetings. Most of the feedback was online, using Figma or Slack. Everything was delivered on time.

We appreciated that they were patient and expertise. This was a particularly collaborative and positive experience.

Online KISS tool that a farmer can use directly. Were they understand straight away what to do. An important feature is the possibility that we can have insights in user activitey and get cummulative reports from the calculations made by the farmers.

The project is still running. When done it should give us an edge in advising farmers and also to lobby with facts and figures.

Very clear roles on their side. Clear and elaborate communication. I knew from the start who did what when.

Right questions. They really understand the needs of the customer. Right questions about the end user as well.

Give a bit more insights in the technical steps that have to be taken. How hard/easy are the things that we ask of them. In general IT services are not very clear on this.

Describe the project in detail.

They developed an app for Android and iOS that allows users to review current information from the Bc Institute—for example, updates on our crops, detailed weather forecasts, or notes on plant diseases and weeds. The app also provides contact to Bc Institute staff for support and displays precise calculations of the sowing rate for every product we have.

What is the team composition? 

We worked with a team of 6–7 people. Our primary contacts were a project manager and a client service manager, who helped with contracts and payments. Otherwise, we worked with a software architect, backend developers, and developers for Android and iOS.

Several of our other partners recommended Undabot during our search for a software development agency. We contacted Undabot after reviewing their work online.
