Salespoint
Overview
Salespoint is a multi-channel selling platform with embedded storefronts for boosting online sales. The platform has a huge number of users and lots of data from connected online stores.

Salespoint
Design Objectives
Our design team had to consider carefully how to organize that data so sellers can easily configure their widgets and track all financial insights while shoppers can easily find items. We designed a seller dashboard that’s divided into convenient blocks, created an expanded and easy-to-use product catalog with plenty of search filters. Our team also designed a convenient product overview page that gives shoppers the power to explore all product details.

Salespoint
What is Salespoint Now
UGEM designed an experience-focused, content-rich platform that reflects the brand’s unique style and fulfills the product’s main purpose of boosting online sales. The selling platform provides complex integrations with an intuitive interface and easy-to-use tools that optimize selling and help sellers to manage activities with automated payment processing, real-time merchandise statuses, and inventory management.

SprinkleBit
Overview
Alexander Wallin, the founder of SprinkleBit, came to UGEM after the first version of the product was already developed. The idea of SprinkleBit was to combine crowdsourcing and technological advances to empower trading and investment decisions. The platform allows both amateurs and experienced investors to learn, train, and make efficient investments in one place.

Sprinklebit
Design Objectives
When Alex came to us with the first version of the product and asked us to implement new functionality, the first step for our team was to review the existing design and current state of the platform. We also needed to get into the context of the product and conduct market and competitor research.
The challenge was to make the platform convenient and easy to understand for everyone. A properly designed navigation system is significant for any app since it improves the overall user experience.

Sprinklebit
What is SprinkleBit Now
UGEM helped design an application that helps people make successful investment decisions, collaborate with one another, learn from professional stock traders, and build a more prosperous future. Since its release, the platform has attracted thousands of users and raised more than $100 million in funding.

Teen Driving App
Overview
This product is a state-of-the-art solution that helps parents make sure that their teen is driving safely by monitoring and preventing common aspects of dangerous and distracted driving.
Our challenges included designing a comprehensive solution for in-vehicle monitoring, implementing a real-time car tracking interface, sending notifications about rule violations with photos and videos, producing driving reports, and developing a feature that would block texting while driving.

Teen Driving App
Design Objectives
Since Teen Driving is a driving monitoring app, our goal was to make it enable users to control the ride in real time, receiving data from a built-in device in the car. The biggest challenge was to implement familiar, informative, and minimalist user interface patterns.

Teen Driving App
What is Teen Driving App Now
UGEM helped create an advanced Driving Behavior Monitoring App that measures your driving behavior using Sensor data and scores each of your trip on various safe driving parameters. It takes minimum time to authorize users in the app due to the minimalist design and intuitive UI/UX. Every feature is customizable, letting parents turn it on and off whenever they like.

MilanStyle
Background story
Jonathan asked UGEM to add new design features and improve the overall experience. Our first step was to assess the current state of the site before implementing any new design features. Our goal was to reveal the weaknesses of the existing visual system and create a consistent experience for users.

MilanStyle
Design solutions
After the website UX audit, our team saw the need to change some features to improve the buying experience. We redesigned landing pages, the home page, the new arrivals page, the style notes page, the product list page, and product pages, which allowed us to improve the overall user experience, reduce the bounce rate, and increase user retention. To make website navigation and filtering even more intuitive, UGEM designers created a left-handed filtering sidebar and divided it into convenient categories.

MilanStyle
What is MilanStyle now
A thorough UX audit allowed us to enhance the existing platform and come up with fresh design ideas to make MilanStyle stand out on the market and be the leader in its niche. Milanstyle now offers more than 800,000 products from the world’s best luxury stores. Jonathan is planning a few further things we plan to tweak and enhance, but ecommerce and large database-driven websites are always a work in progress.

Shopperations
Background story
Shopperations offers co-op marketing event planning and collaboration software for retailers, manufacturers, and shopper marketing agencies to help them build co-op marketing events, collaborate with internal teams, and partner with brands in real time.Olga Yurovski, the founder of Shopperations, decided to simplify business processes for shopper marketers.

Shopperations
Design solutions
Since we were designing a product that was the first of its kind, we had to gather a lot of information about its target audience. The work of shopper marketer revolves around marketing events, so we attached an advanced calendar of upcoming events to the top of the Dashboard. Plus, marketers can monitor event statistics to keep track of marketing effectiveness. We considered inline editing for the Budget screen the best option for Shopperations, meaning marketers can enter and save data in the system effortlessly, just as they do in Excel files.

Shopperations
What Shopperations Is Now
We at UGEM were able to design a completely new web solution that helps shopper marketers work smarter. We’re still working to improve Shopperations to create the best possible product. There’s always room to improve, and the Shopperations UX and UI design will continue to be updated to meet the new demands of shopper marketers.

DesignBro

Christiaan Huynen, a design professional and founder of Cartils Design in London, reached out to the UGEM design team with an idea for DesignBro, a quality-oriented design crowdsourcing marketplace that brings together businesses and professional designers.

DesignBro
DesignBro makes design sourcing simple and affordable for small and medium-sized businesses, helping them get high-quality logos, brand identity, and packaging designs from skilled designers.

DesignBro
What is DesignBro Now
The UGEM design team created a fully functional design crowdsourcing marketplace that offers truly satisfying customer experience. DesignBro helps customers from all over the world get superior designs at affordable prices and allows skilled designers to earn money by winning competitions.

Avidyx
Background story
Frederik, Harald, and Andreas are really into active sports including skiing, sailing, snowboarding, and surfing. Initially, the trio had thought of launching a food delivery service, but then they realized that they needed to focus on another kind of business related to their common love for adventure and adrenaline-filled activities. From that moment, Frederik, Harald, and Andreas have put all their efforts into building Avidyx – a marketplace where people can advertise, find, and book extreme sports activities.

Avidyx
Design solutions
We conceptually divided Avidyx into two parts. The aim of the public part of Avidyx’s site is to give a short description of the service and attract new suppliers. UGEM made the catalog page consistent, containing tools for quick search. The activity description page offers a convenient and clear booking system and handles requests for additional services. By dividing activity creation into six steps, we simplified the interface, allowing suppliers to skip unnecessary steps, return to previous steps, and see their progress. Since our clients are always on the go, we paid special attention to the mobile version of the site to make it convenient for clients to communicate with activity suppliers, see available dates, and make bookings. The mobile version of Avidyx was designed and developed simultaneously with the full web version – we never separate these two stages.

Avidyx
What Avidyx is Now
The UGEM Team helped create a fully fledged competitive marketplace that serves personalized activities and unique destinations for adventure lovers. At Avidyx, suppliers can create their own organizations, gather teams, and run their businesses efficiently. We designed a convenient user experience for creating activities and adjusting dates and prices.

Scrummer
Background story
When we decided to create Scrummer with the RubyGarage development team, no existing Scrum poker app featured a lively interface and a polished user experience. Our objective was to create an enjoyable planning poker experience for Agile teams. We wanted to replace the usual deck of cards with customizable and animated cards for iPhones. In addition, we wanted to provide smooth transitions between screens and make the animations seamless.

Scrummer
Design Solutions
Each character in Scrummer is animated, and the animations convey the characters’ personalities. The design concept represents how developers handle several tasks at a time, just like an octopus. These animated creatures make the planning poker cards enjoyable and make the planning process fun. We made transitions between all screens in the app light and simple. Our designers worked on mini-plots for every card in the app to make them funny and to make Scrum poker sessions as productive as possible.

Scrummer
What Scrummer is Now
Scrummer replaces a regular deck of cards and is always at hand on your iPhone. With Scrummer, your team can simply download the app and properly estimate tasks. With a unique animated Scrummer character, card numbers in the Fibonacci sequence, customizable card backs, and a planning poker manual, Scrummer is an indispensable tool for any development team.

Vootex
Background story
An entrepreneur from San Francisco approached UGEM and requested a design concept for his new product – Vootex, a social voting app for market validation. For this project, our UGEM team sought to explore how we can help businesses research their markets and validate ideas before launch.

Vootex
Design solutions
Our goal was to ensure the application was intuitive, offered simple navigation, and facilitated smooth micro-interactions between users. To help businesses orient themselves based on data gathered by Vootex, we designed the analytics features to not only be clear and engaging but also to let businesses extract the most intelligence from the data. To make the application more recognizable, we came up with the idea for a mascot that would be lively, provide a consistent character, build positive emotions, and support the product’s tone and voice. Creating a light and airy interface based on the concept of deference helped us keep interactions with content simple. Finally, persistent hierarchy throughout the app gave users a sense of depth while navigating content.

Vootex
What Vootex is Now
The UGEM Team helped create an effective tool for testing products, performing market validation, reaching users globally, gathering valid feedback, and providing analytics. Vootex helps businesses perform valid product testing easily, quickly, and cost-efficiently.

For what projects/services did your company hire UGEM?
We hired UGEM to create UI/UX design of our Telehealth application. We also needed to develop interfaces of a marketing site and a mobile app for patients.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to design a web app for doctors, virtual clinics, and the platform’s administrator.
How did you select UGEM?
We initially were looking for a development team. They did a great job building our website and mobile web so when they referred a design team we didn’t hesitate to start cooperation. This is how we contacted UGEM.
Describe the project in detail.
The UGEM team analyzed our business and our competitors first. Then, they developed UX for the web app for doctors and virtual clinics. They also created UX for the platform’s administrator. After that, the team worked on the mobile app’s UX and wireframes of the marketing site. Finally, the UGEM team created the UI design of the web app, iOS and Android apps, and the marketing site.
What was the team composition?
There were three UI/UX designers and one illustrator. We also communicated with two business analysts.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
All stakeholders liked the app’s design. It looks attractive and easy to use. In our target market, only 7% of our potential customers in South America have credit cards, only a few of them will be able to use the credit card payment support feature. The majority of customers will have to buy vouchers for visits in supermarkets or pharmacies. Then they’ll have to use them to make appointments.
This is why it was extremely important to deliver simple and efficient functionality for adding and using vouchers. We’re expecting that this design will help us stand out on the market.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We were constantly in touch via the Slack messenger. We also had regular video calls to discuss design demos and plan further work, edits and improvements.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
My key requirement was to ensure the user-friendliness of our application, and the UGEM team did this task as expected. The platform is really intuitive. I’m sure that even smartphone newbies will be able to easily add vouchers and make appointments via our app.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We comunicate in English with no problem, but it woud have been great to speak in Sapnish with some one on the team.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m a Chief Technology Officer of the biggest social platform for football players in the MENA region.
For what projects/services did your company hire UGEM?
As in any social network, users have to register first. We noticed that a lot of people left our iOS app before they completed the registration. We needed to find out what was wrong and decided to check the design because the backend part worked fine. When we explained our concerns to the UGEM team, they offered us to start with a UX audit, to find out what was the main issue on the stage of login and signup.
What were your goals for this project?
A designer who helped us analyzed the registration process in our iOS app and made a report for us. The report described the issues in the design of our app that we need to solve.
How did you select UGEM?
We started our search on LinkedIn. We contacted several companies and explained our needs. UGEM replied very quickly and offered UX audit as a solution. They also explained to us how they will perform it step by step. It sounded like a nice plan, so we decided to give it a try.
Describe the project in detail.

Product Design for a SaaS Startup

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’ve founded a startup software-as-a-service company that simplifies business processes for marketers. We work with different consumer packaged goods manufacturers. Our software helps them manage budgeting, promotions, estimation, reconciliation, and more.
For what projects/services did your company hire UGEM?
I was looking for an outsourcing design company. I started to design my software with local, on-shore designers, but I struggled to get something outstanding and felt like I had to micromanage the process.
What were your goals for this project?
I needed good-looking, functioning MVP to launch for my initial clients who pre-ordered the software. UX Design was a pivotal part of the product.
How did you select this vendor?
I was initially looking for a tech co-founder and ended up finding UGEM on one of the sites where they posted a profile. I was looking for software development advice and for someone who understood how to work with startups. After the first conversation with UGEM, I saw that they've done many projects like mine and that they speak plain language and are pragmatic and business-savvy. A sweet bonus was that they were from the home town that gave me an emotional connection to them. Their pricing was fair, so I decided to give it a go.
Describe the project in detail.
When I came to UGEM, I already had a basic prototype and knew what features marketers need. Their designer conducted comprehensive research regarding my target audience and put this knowledge into the intuitive information architecture charts and flow diagrams.
The main assignment was around designing both informative and user-friendly dashboard, calendar, and budgeting tab. All events in the calendar are represented with different colors so that marketers can easily detect the event status.
The budget tab provides inline editing functionality meaning marketers can enter and save data in the system effortlessly, just as they do in Excel files. We attached an advanced calendar of upcoming events to the top of the dashboard so that marketers can see current and future events.
Dashboard also allows marketers to track event statistics and overall budget usage. Their designer created wireframes, mockups, and a clickable prototype in InVision representing all these features. She gave me a tangible deliverables that I could then use as a starting point for developers.
What was the team composition?
I worked with a designer and a part-time project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The result of our collaboration exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot about UX design principles and could see that UGEM took my basic prototype to a whole new level. In my subjective opinion, the application is visually appealing, modern, fast, and functional. All of my clients are impressed when I show it to them. It was a great validation for both my vision and their delivery. The biggest testament to how good they are is that 5 years later, I still hire them on a part-time/hourly basis when we need design updates.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
UGEM project manager is great at communication, planning, and setting clear expectations. I always knew what was coming, I hate surprises! They organized the process to maximize project productivity. I communicate with the designers via Google Hangouts. We hold meetings at least twice a week. We also used Jira, so the process is transparent and fluid.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their professionalism, attention to detail and the pride they take in their work. At some point, my dev team didn't have a project manager. My UX designer stepped up and helped me plan sprints, update the team and do user testing, too!
Are there any areas for improvement?
Looking back, I never regretted hiring them. Of course, some things could always be cheaper and faster, but I have no material complaints.

Describe the project in detail.
UGEM design team conducted a thorough research about our business, our customers, and competitors. They proceeded with a benchmarking analysis to compare the website with its competitors and check it for compliance with the best design practices. In the end, they formed the final report based on the conducted analysis with recommendations for improving user experience and overall product usability.

Not at all. We were impressed by perfect communication, which is usually the main area for improvement when coworking with other companies.
UGEM's designs were well-received by stakeholders thanks to their attractive look and ease of use. This was paramount in making the app more accessible, intuitive, and efficient for its users. UGEM held regular video calls to go through demos and incorporate feedback.
